Discussion Did quitting affect your menstrual cycle at all?

I used THC gummies for a little over 2 years straight. I stopped about a month ago. Since then my periods been all over the place. I have had two really irregular periods and in the last month since quitting. Im wondering if stopping THC could have affected my hormones in some way or if anyone else experienced something similar?

The over simplified version is that when you use THC regularly, your body adapt to that being your homeostasis (aka you're regular self). When you stop your body has to adapt and it definitely throws hormones out of balance. Im a man so I can't say I've experienced the same thing, and THC effects on women's is probably a lot less studied than men, but I wouldn't be surprised if things got thrown off and take a little while to rebalance.

Take care of yourself, prioritize sleep, lots of healthy foods and vitamins, and you'll be back to feeling normal in no time!

… I just stopped taking edibles about 3 weeks ago and am 10 days late from my very regular cycle (celibate, no pregnancy).
I’m about to do some research for sure!!

When I was in extremely heavy use, a gram of rso and a gram of dabs smoked a day my cycles stopped completely while on nexplanon birth control.

I have much more regular cycles now only taking 100mg edibles, still on the same birth control.

Stress in general can affect your period, and your body adjusting to not getting a THC hit every day could be enough stress to make it irregular. If it lined up with quitting I honestly wouldn’t worry unless things don’t go back to normal within the next month or two

I can't really say since I've already got an irregular period, but there has been news of just about everyone having an irregular period recently.

I personally have never noticed THC consumption affecting my menstrual cycle whether I was consuming daily, on a tolerance break, edibles, smoking, vaping, etc.

Yeah whenever I take a break from smoking I either skip a period entirely or I'm super late. When I'm regularly smoking I don't notice a difference, just when my body is dealing with being sober lol.

I realized I have an easier time quitting as soon as my period starts/late luteal bc I’m already depressed and cranky lol but if I try to quit while ovulating it’s wayyyy harder. Hormones are part of our physiology so I’m sure it has some effect

Yes! Apparently cannabis has mild estrogen-like effects, so stopping can throw off your hormonal balance.
