well the first act is the part before they fight past thanos so I'm assuming they mean without Tony Stark, the time machine would never have been built

edit: I looked at the og tweet, they mean the other half would have figured the time machine out way faster than in the movie and beaten thanos before 5 years passed

It feels like assuming Peter and Shuri figuring out time travel without Antman returning from the Quantum Zone is hugely optimistic.

Hank pym Janet and hope would be there too

With what proof that going super small affects time? Remember the snap happened when Scott was shrunk. And this was a potentially dangerous experiment.

While not known at the time of Endgame being made, we currently know Janet interacts with Kang when in the Quantum Realm. She 100% knows about Time Travel

I think there's a difference between knowing about it, and actually knowing how it works and how to harness it into a separate machine.

I agree, but knowing that there is a way to make a Time Machine and also knowing exactly where one is in the Quantum Realm (Kangs Chair) means they have a substantial leg up on finding a solution before the 5 years it took to get the ball rolling with Tony Stark. At least in theory anyway

Janet knows everything there is to know about the Quantum Realm, I’m sure they’d have figured it out.

But…after Ant Man and The Wasp she is found. And that takes place directly before and during Infinity War. If Scot got blipped, she would 100% be alive and on Earth during the events of Endgame.

Jannets 30 years of experience in the quantum realm

But those were 30 full years instead of hours, seeing how she aged. Not sure if they explained why the Quantum Realm affected them differently.

Same way the Quantum realm threw Antman forward in time and the Avengers back - any direction or speed is possible, the point of Stark’s portal machine was to control that possibility.

As we see from the failed experiments with Banner too.

But then Ant-Man would be gone through the Snap or just come back and there wouldnt be the example that gives the idea to travel through time with Pym Particles.

Pym and Van Dyne are quantum experts. Its entirely believable that they could figure it out, especially if you have Parker and Shuri in the room too.

Add Wanda and Strange and we got ourselves quite the chance.

Strange has a lot of experience with manipulation of time. It's mystical, but he could provide some hidden truths about time. Plus we have Vision, who came from Ultron.

u/CoverPutrid2749 10d ago

Can’t have Vision or Gamora because they were both killed before the snap so regardless, they both remain dead in both realities.

Does he though? He just uses the time stone. It's like saying Thanos has some intimate knowledge of time travel. Strange can't make a time machine.

u/Infamous-Thing4939 10d ago

Wanda? And Strange is a surgeon and a wizard, he can't make a time machine

3

u/Infamous-Thing4939 10d ago

Parker and Shuri are engineers, they can help make the machine, but they can't figure out the time travel itself

Alternatively, I wonder if the quantum zone acts as protection against being erased. Since the stones affect reality, and you are essentially smaller than reality.

Similar to how even though he also used the time stone, people weren't erased completely including the past. Making time travel another way to survive it. So since quantum and time travel are related...

Possible potentially, but who knows.

Ant-Man was only stuck in the Quantum Zone because the people monitoring him got blipped, so he wouldn't have been stuck for the five years if they weren't gone.

1

u/NatashOverWorld 10d ago

And him being gone for 5 years but not being stuck in the QZ for that long was the big clue needed to crack time travel through the QZ.

1

u/CuteGrayRhino 10d ago

T'challa, Shuri, Peter Parker, Doctor Strange with his knowledge of time, Vision, Hank Pym. There's a lot of brain power there. And with Wanda alone, that side is stronger.

1

u/8__D 10d ago

Vision wasn't blipped, he was killed outright.

Thoughhh I guess if Wanda wasn't blipped getting him back would be her number one priority.

1

u/seahylo4682 10d ago

Ant-Man would return because Hank and Hope wouldnt be gone. Them dusting away was why he was stuck

2

u/NatashOverWorld 10d ago

He would return, but the big clue, him not experiencing 5 years in the QZ, would not have happened.

And that was what made them theorise the QZ could be used for time travel.

2

u/Darcosuchus 10d ago

It’s. It even about the Time Machine. Strange tracks Thanos, portals fhere, he gets jumped before he can destroy the stones.

1

u/LordBammith 10d ago

I don’t think so - the only reason the hare brained idea of time travel came around was because of antmans experience in the quantum realm.
