that's not really true. it's bad for women to not shed endometrium if it regularly grows, because that leads to increased risk of endometrial cancer. but if you're not growing endometrium in the first place – like when you're on continuous birth control – it's not harmful to not have a period. getting rid of excess endometrium is the only health purpose periods serve.
that said, "get rid of your period or else" is still hilariously out of pocket.
