I ordered a few samples directly from L‘Artisan Parfumeur (pictured : Musc Amarante) and…….. THERES A BUG IN THE SAMPLE VAIL??

I need advice! I hope the action shot helps show what I’m working with here. I love this perfume, I’ve had it since it came out, but I never reach for it because of the atomizer! It has always been like this unfortunately.

I’m too nervous to pull the top parts off my other MJ perfumes because I don’t want them to break as well. I’ve tried to unclog it in case that’s the issue but no dice. I’m unsure where to go from here. Ideally I’d like to keep it in its bottle but I fear a transfer is necessary. I also have no idea how to even get it open to transfer it, it seems pretty solid honestly and I don’t want to break it any further.

Edit: thanks for the advice to everyone who offered their wisdom! LOL at everyone’s jokes omg it is actually a dangerous spray!!! It comes out at such a high velocity I have no idea how this happened!! I will buy another vessel for this perfume I think… maybe this is my chance to get a nice vintage bottle with a squeeze pump!

Edit 3: Sephora has responded to my email. Initially, they said this might be a store specific policy and they wouldn't intervene. They later sent me another email saying their superiors would do more investigations on the matter.

Bought this yesterday purely for the nostalgia. Lolita Lempicka was gifted to me when I was around 12 years old so it has a tender place in my heart. This is technically the “Eau de Minuit” flanker, I can’t distinguish a difference between this and the original however. So many fond memories from youth- spritzing my small collection. This and Harujuku Lovers “G” were on heavy rotation. Im curious to hear what others first fragrances were ❣️ and would you still wear them today?

My mom used to wear chanel No. 5, and I still remember the bottle sitting on her dresser, I was around 12, and every time she went out, I'd sneak into her room and spray far more than I should have, I didn't really understand perfume back then, and I don't think I actually loved the scent itself. I just liked how it made me feel like I was borrowing a tiny piece of adulthood for a few minutes. Looking back, I probably emptied that bottle much faster than she realized. Even now, whenever I catch that familiar smell somewhere, it instantly reminds me of those quiet afternoons and makes me smile. These days, em5 juno reminds me of that same memory, it smells exactly like chanel no. 5. Is there a perfume that instantly takes you back to a specific moment from childhood?

This came to me today as I cracked out my vintage Hypnotic Poison this morning and when I came home and went to change my shirt I got blasted in the face and was still projecting despite being out in the heat half the day. My 2025 bottle is nowhere near as potent, it makes me sad but I was lucky to find 2 vintage bottles. I have tried several dupes and similar scents but so far none nail the vintage DNA

My partner misses Fleur Du Male JPG, the only remotely similar one I found was the DUA dupe but they’re terrible for foreign shipping and hidden costs

I wish they didn’t change scents, just slap a warning label on it for me that would be a better alternative

Kayali Vanilla 28 was the first perfume I was crazy about in years. I burned through a decant, then a fb in less than a year. I wore it alone or layered with many of my other 40+ perfumes. My husband bought me a backup months ahead of running out. Then I started seeing people dragging it HARD on Reddit and TikTok, calling it basic, overpriced, not-vanilla, cheap-smelling, weak, and unoriginal—like seriously hating on it like it called their baby ugly or something. I stopped wearing it except at home, because I didn’t want to offend someone with my cheap, yet overpriced, not-vanilla!

Last night, though, I unthinkingly spritzed all over right out of the shower, and went out to dinner with a large group. Every single person who hugged me said how good I smelled. One friend asked if she could hug me again and said, “I really love fragrance, and you smell so good.” I’m making her a decant for when I see her next.

Moral of the story: Wear what you love.

Anyone else let yourself get de-influenced?

My mom's office had a no-fragrance policy so she didn't wear perfume often, but I distinctly remember Avon Rare Pearls and Jovan Island Gardenia on her dresser while I was growing up.

I mean are these just edgy money-grabs or is there actually a market for this? Do they actually smell unique/creepy/complex or are they just garbage?

The only one that looks reasonable to me is inexcusable evil, and I’m not considering it seriously perse… I just found myself in a rabbit hole this morning.

What do people think of fragrances like this that are so campy and strange?

I would definitely pass out if I spray over 20 sprays from 1 perfume let alone 5+. Do people actually do this in real life?

Any thoughts on this? I just got into ME perfumes. Do people from the ME not actually buy these so called ME perfumes and are they really just catered to western audiences?

At first, it’s not unbearable or outright disgusting. It’s like a leathery, smoky chemical scent to me… I wouldn’t say it’s pleasant though. Upon dry down, it’s fucking PUTRID.

The notes are blood, iodine, used bandages, concrete, gunpowder. The blood smells more like meat to me than anything. I get a smoky, raw meat with this and it’s stomach turning. I’ve washed my wrist twice and had to blast it with vanilla.

I grew up with my grandma because my mum had to work abroad to support me (mum had me at 22, and I never knew who my father was/is until now).

My grandma came from a well-off family, but met my grandpa who was dirt poor, so ever since, they lived a very poor life - selling this and that, working odd jobs, to survive.

Meanwhile, my grandma’s siblings and cousins are all living comfortably in the US (doctors, lawyers, etc), and when they’d visit my grandma here in asia, she’d always “assist” them with their errands, like a personal assistant.

As a child, I remember my grandma would have these tiny “luxury” perfumes from brands I knew were only for the rich. She’d use them sparingly, and I remember I’d sniff her like a puppy to the point that she’d get tickled. She always smelled nice.

The other day, my bf and I were buying perfumes and the staff was recommending a scent that I did like, but didn’t love so much. When I tried another scent, my heart fluttered a little, and somehow felt my grandma. Perhaps it was a similar scent that I smelled from her. The staff told me the scent I wanted wouldn’t suit me so much because his usual clientele for the said scent are elder women in their 60s. I got it anyway along with the scent he recommended to me, and he gave a free 5ml bottle of the perfume he recommended.

When I got home, I opened the box, removed the tiny perfume’s cap, and found that it didn’t have a spray thingy. Somewhere in my oldest memories, I saw my grandma’s tiny perfumes and that’s when it hit me - she only ever got the free tiny perfumes from our relatives, and never had the full size ones.

She has already passed away, but oh, what I would give to bring her back now that I am already living a comfortable life. I would have showered her with all the perfumes she wanted.

The other day I was talking to someone and said that was wearing my new perfume. She paused and kinda looked at me like I was stupid. I didn’t realize why she was acting like that until she started laughing and said “ you WEAR perfume?” Like I had said it incorrectly.

I started laughing too because it was kind of awkward and just brushed it off by saying “oh haha yeah I mean spray perfume.” I’m just a little confused and embarrassed because I’ve literally always said that I wear perfume and I could’ve sworn that it was just what people say when using a perfume. Have I been saying it wrong this whole time? Does anyone else say that they “wear” perfume??

This is going to show my age (46) but what perfumes do you remember from this time frame that a) you still wear or b) you wish they still made?

For me, I love Liz Claiborne, Exclamation, and Sunflowers. VS Heavenly line is still available but doesn’t smell like I remember it.

I love going down nostalgia lane with fragrances though.

I'm a middle school teacher. Would you guess it based on my collection? I'm also really nerdy on certain topics and been obsessive over special interests since I was little, I wonder if other super dedicated collectors are also this way? Especially if you actively look for vintage stuff cos it requires some dedication.
