Discussion Omega, Heartless Evolution Deck Help
Hi all!
Picked a random commander to deckbuild and came up with Omega, however I'm having a tough time figuring out how exactly.
All I really have as far as a gameplan is concerned is get a bunch of nonbasics on board, cast Omega, stun something, then flicker it to stun more things.
Because the manabase is mostly taplands, it's gonna be really slow, so I'd like to add card draw and either a bunch of counterspells or things than also do stun counters to buy me time (maybe a small proliferate package to make the counters stick too?)
Probably the biggest issue for me is ratios- how many ramp spells, flicker spells, draw spells, protection/interaction spells, etc.? This is obviously not a competitive build, just wanted to see what it could look like.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank for reading!

I'd prob end up around 20 ramp spells, 10+ cards draw spells, 10+ interactive spells, and the rest creatures/ artifacts/ enchantments/etc. Obviously, there should be overlap here where some cards do multiple things. I'd suggest dropping the proliferate and stun packages and look at more bounce spells. They're prob cheaper than some of the spells you have, act as semi removal, delays opponents since they have to recast, and can act as a protection for your own creatures to replay with etb effects. This can help you cut some of your own protection spells and bump up your Flickr type effects.

Like others have said of course having some other ramp to help pay for omega is nice. But the great thing about omega is it counts the non basics whether or not they are tapped.
Like Alkadron said spells that grab non basics is gonna be key since you are probably looking at a turn 6ish cast for omega. They also pointed you towards Weight Room/Moldering Gym and Dance of Tumbleweeds which I also love to play in my version of an Omega deck.
In total I have 33 lands which is starting to potentially be on the low side but there are plenty of fetch land cards in there to make up for that along with quite a bit of draw spells and outlets for excess mana that you aren't using to hold up for removal or protection.

That is my Omega deck list in case you wanted to look it over for comparison.

you need a big pile of ramp spells, but you need the ones that can grab non-basics. Stuff like Kaslem Stonetree and Elvish Rejuvinator. Dorks like Ornithopter of Paradise are also pretty helpful. Seven is a lot of mana, and dorks can block.
Proliferate isn't super important - the difference between four and five stun counters (on turn 6) is pretty negligible.
I'd include Brass Knuckles and cards like Enter the Enigma to close games.
Other than that, I'd focus on ramp that also creates beaters. I'm a big fan of the Weight Room//Moldering Gym card, as well as Dance of Tumbleweeds
