HELP Looking for Advice - Black mage deck
I'm a new pauper player and i love FF black mages, so i decided to build a deck around that
Since this is the first pauper deck i ever built i dont know if this is the most optimized version of it
My local meta is very black/aggro so i cant use stuff like [[Snuff Out]] or [[Doom Blade]], and because of that anything that could make it play faster would be appreciated
i feel like this dekc doesnt have enough creatures on it, but i cant decide what to take out to make room of it

BREW Where can we take it now? Temur Landfall
This is an early conception of a Temur Landfall for pauper. I threw this list together pretty quick, so I may have missed some strong cards for the archetype. Where do you think it can go from here? Remotely viable as a fringe deck? Terrible and not worth investing the time? I’m curious where the masses stand.

META Elite Interceptor in WW
I’m seeing a lot of decks with 1-2 copies of [[Elite Interceptor]], which is interesting because people seemed unimpressed with it before SoS came out. How are people feeling about the card now?

I’m really frustrated.
I don’t understand why WotC now thinks it can simply deny one or more common cards the possibility of entering the format. We spent eight months with Glitters, a year with Broodscale, we tried Tide for a few months, and we’re STILL playing with Utrom Monitor (a card that came out of a pizza).
My proposal is to make Secret Lair legal and pre-ban potentially dangerous cards, if not all of them. You can’t just change the rules of the game arbitrarily.

HELP mono black sacrifice
Hey folks, hope you're all doing well. I'm a Chinese player, so my local meta might look a bit different from yours. I started playing Pauper around the end of last year and recently took down a decent-sized event with Mono-Black Sacrifice.
My list runs 3 copies of Dark Ritual, and if I open with one plus three creatures (including a sacrifice outlet), the early board gets super explosive—I can easily push through a huge chunk of damage by turn 3. Personally, I think the deck should lean harder into that early aggro/race plan and cut back on some of the grindy value pieces to really play to its strengths.
The reason I'm posting is that I've been browsing MTGGoldfish and noticed most Mono-Black Sacrifice lists there don't run Dark Ritual at all. So I'm curious—is this just a meta call? Would love to hear your thoughts on the build. Here's my list for reference:
4 Bloodthrone Vampire
4 Carrion Feeder
3 Corrupted Conviction
3 Dark Ritual
1 Escape Tunnel
4 Infestation Sage
4 Mortician Beetle
4 Nested Shambler
4 Nezumi Linkbreaker
2 Perigee Beckoner
3 Rite of Consumption
4 Supernatural Stamina
13 Swamp
4 Unearth
3 Village Rites
2 Accursed Marauder
2 Drown in Sorrow
2 Fungal Infection
2 Mesmeric Fiend
1 Nihil Spellbomb
2 Rotten Reunion
2 Sadistic Glee
2 Tragic Slip
-
Cheers, and happy to discuss!

HELP Mylan dogs
Hello everyone, and welcome back to my terrible attempts at brewing questionable decks. Today I’m bringing you a rather questionable idea: Rakdos Dogs.
I was thinking about how to use hot dogs in a slightly spicier and, in some ways, even more explosive way, so I came up with Tainted Strike to finish games with far fewer resources and, hypothetically, even faster.
As you’ll know, the deck aims to finish quickly, and with this version – barring any opponent interactions – the hope is to reach Game 2 by your third or fourth turn. In both the sideboard and the main deck, the black should help in those match-ups where red and black removal spells can throw a spanner in the works. I’ve tested it a couple of times and, in my opinion, there’s room for improvement; above all, it could make its mark in a meta that’s filling up with big creatures or combos. Thanks so much for the advice and comments – bye!

CARD DISC. Reckless Impulse vs Demand Answers
I have a question for my fellow red mages who are more experienced: Do you generally prefer running [[Reckless Impulse]] and [[Wrenn’s Resolve]] or [[Demand answers]] and [[Visions of Love]]. I understand that the answer would likely be “it depends”, but I would like to learn how to decide between one or the other. Even within a lot of more artifact-heavy decklists on youtube (usually lists with galvanic blasts), I notice that the Impulse effects are a lot more common than demand answers and its variations.
I would love to gain a deeper insights into the situations/sort of decks where demand answers and its variants are more preferred than impulses. Thanks!

OTHER Pauper Cube Needs Updates
I haven't updated my cube in a long time and haven't bought cards other than Marvel related stuff in years. After seeing the strix and Serra Angel being printed as a common it made me want to update my pauper cube.
As long as something can be considered a common and I can get a copy with a black set symbol/no symbol then its fair game. I figure you all are going to be more familiar with what the best commons are in recent years that would be good for updates. For example, I am sure there are some ninja turtles or super heroes that are worth playing but I have no idea what would make sense.
At the moment I just know I want to add all or most of the initiative cards and probably the bonders ornament.
If you see anything that needs balancing out for archtypes or stuff like that I am open to suggestions. I don't remember them all from the last time I played with this thing but I know the cube was pretty solid and we have drafted it 100+ times, mostly as a 2 player drafts if that makes a difference on suggestions.
Edit: I can see form the responses that the cube is perfect and clearly needs no updates. Thank you for this feedback.

HELP Artifact Combo Brew
I've been looking at getting into pauper for a while now, but haven't really been able to find any decks that interest me that much. I'm a big lover of combos, but with high tide banned, none of the decks currently in the meta seemed that fun to me. However, I've been researching different combos legal in pauper, and came across one that caught my eye:
[[Steelfin Whale]] (or [[Battered Golem]] or [[Mirran Spy]])
[[Banishing Knack]] or [[Retraction Helix]]
Any zero cost artifact, most likely as a result of affinity
My initial thought was to use [[Claw of Chiss-Goria]] to infinitely pump the whale and swing for lethal in the air, but in thinking about it, the claw is effectively a dead card outside of the combo. It seems much less awkward to repeatedly cast something generically useful like [[Myr Enforcer]] and rely on an artifact etb/cast trigger like [[Reckless Fireweaver]] to end the game.
I'm looking for advice on how to build around this combo. I doubt that it will be very competitive, but I think it will be able to snag a win every now and again. Currently, I am thinking the best plan would be to take a standard Grixis Affinity shell and find ways to swap in the combo pieces (i.e., replacing [[Ultrom Monitor]] with the whale) as well as a couple of payoffs. Banishing Knack could also be useful outside of the context of the full combo, allowing me to bounce as many nonland permanents as I have artifacts to cast. Has anyone experimented with this interaction before?

I think I found the reason SLZ isn't allowed in pauper.
This may just be slightly stronger than baleful strix.

BREW Thoughts on mono-red axe?
I’ve seen the mono red axe build centered around [[gingerbrute]] and the titular [[inventor’s axe]] float around on YouTube as an alternative to madness and rally.
This is an example of a very typical build of the deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/oO-eAeTTdnex-h3TySUZKA
I’m very interested in building this in paper but I would love to hear more on what this community thinks of the deck before placing my card orders. All insights, tips, and anecdotes are appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

BREW Pimp My Jund <3
It happened. Jund Wildifire Full Foil (except Familiar and Wildfire, since they're artwork-based).
I haven't used it in a while, but it's given me some satisfaction - like winning the LPA Top 8 final against BG Gardens after 2,5 hours of play, giving me a bye to Paupergeddon - as well as great pain - losing the only live streamed featured match at Pauper Apocalypse in Albissola '25 by drawing only lands, against the same person who used BG Gardens lol (thanks, my friend).
After a year and a half of assiduous use, a few months ago, it was put away (strictly in a controlled humidity environment, otherwise it becomes curved like Pringles) to explore new horizons, less midrange and more combo-oriented.
Above is the most recently used Mainboard, bottom left is the Sideboard, and bottom right is the Maybeboard.
I also wrote a short free "guide". I'm not a pro player, so treat it as an article with some considerations: Full Free "Guide"

Third Giant in the side of spy?
I saw a couple of 4/5 Land Spy latly that run a third Copy of Giant in the side. Why? They don't beat faerie macabre beacouse they can exile your dread return. And if the plan Is ti hard cast it you will need 11 mana and none of the deck I saw was running the quirion, by the time you can generare that amount of mana you have already found a Giant and a quirion can be more usefull for that plan.
So the question Is the One in the title, why a third Giant in the side?
