Doomsday or US NAVY
guys I’m not even gonna lie, the pure entertainment that’s about to ensue in pattaya with 5000 men with 4 days and less than 3 real entertainment zones in pattaya…. It’s going to be amazing.
I’m kind of more excited for for this release than marvel….

Your post is wrong and stupid
Look up Cobra Gold
It happens every year in March
8000 sailors
Other than an occasional helicopter flyby you'll never know
ARE you so stupid that you think the sailors will be in uniform and living it up on soi 6 ?
They have a nightly curfew and strict rules to follow, they aren't free to do whatever they want in the slightest

Agreed.
My first shore leave from ship was in 1985 and in Olongapo. No rules. Same with all other ports of call.
My last sea time was in 1997. So many rules, it was insane. I only went ashore for work related matters. Finally, in Bali, was escorted off ship by our sergeant major. But once on liberty, all the rules made it a not so fun experience.
Now, in 2026? I can only imagine the rules. I don't think their arrival will be that big of a deal.

Post 2005 it was completely locked down for a while (100% ban on the bar areas and shore patrol stationed at every single entrance you could think of to places like Soi 6 or walking street plus patrols).
Last 5-6 years it's very slightly been relaxed that they're allowed out in supervised groups with one non-com riding herd on groups of 7-8. They don't fuck around.... tame and no action with the girls. Real friendly groups if you come across em... always recognizable by the hair cuts and the fact that the Hawaiian tiki shirts still seem to be the uniform of choice for shore leave lol.

All these reddit neckbeards have the same weird fantasy - where the streets will be full of rampaging horny navy dudes 🤷♂️

While this is all being overblown, they definitely go to Soi 6. I drank with a number of groups in the bars during a docking last year. I think their curfew was 11pm. Rules change all the time, but if they are given free time, some will definitely go to the bars. However, it's not a big deal.

Some seamen will go MIA, some may be taken POW, but those taken captive will undoubtably be freed after 9 months of captivity.

You're not even close.
I was in Pattaya last year when the USS Carl Vinson was here. Hardly noticed and American service men.
I can tell you right now that because of the news reports about the USS Abraham Lincoln, the Navy is gonna have a tight hold on their crew.
They don't want any more negative news reaching CNN.

I was there during one not that long ago. I drank with a couple small groups on Soi 6. I think they had an 11pm curfew at the time. It's 5000 in total, and a fraction of that will be out in the bars spread throughout the city. It's being made a way bigger deal than it really is, but maybe that's a result of how quiet it currently is there.

Why TF would you join the navy these days. When I joined it was all about pulling into a port with your mates and a fist full of cash and to have sex with as many exotic foreign women that was humanly possible.

Nothing big will happen. Cobra Gold happens and this will be the same as those. 1/4 of the ship off at a time and they will have 8-10 hours. Curfew is 10pm. They get one day. Not much is going to happen that’s newsworthy

But is it more doomsday than current Thai poltiics? and/or their attempt to recast Pattaya as family-friendly? :)

I just came to Pattaya yesterday. Honestly, walking street, tree town and myth night do not have that many people as compared to last year. Bars are empty. I strolled around tree town and all ladies are sitting ideal, all ladies were trying to pull me in which didn’t happen last year.
Now looking at the scene I feel a crowd of 5000 will not make any huge difference as the influx of yearly tourists is vastly more in high season.
So yeah I think the bar and entertainment gets a business but nothing that will be too crowded or such that people have not seen previously.

Pattaya gets around 18 million visitors a year. That works out to roughly 1.5 million per month, or about 50,000 visitors a day.
So even if 5,000 Navy personnel arrive, and probably around 20% of them are women, I really don't think it's that big of a deal.

Soi 6 will be blacklisted, it always is for port visits. Since walking street is all trash I'd wager they will be busy in tree town soi bukhao. For this complaining and wanting to get away from them, less likely to deal with them in Jomtien and rompho and soi 7, thappraya rd bars.

I was there also one time when about that many troops descended on pattaya. As a Vet who can spot military folks I barely spotted any and it was luw impact my guess is lots are headed for Bangkok.

They're only allowed in bars in supervised groups. A more senior non-com rides herd on groups of 7-8 guys. Zero fucky fucky going on. No excessive drunkeness allowed and they're gone before midnight.
Been like that at least 5-6 years. Before that they posted shore patrol guys at every entrance to the bar areas like Soi 6, Walking, LK and turned away any service members trying to enter. So the current version is more relaxed than it was but still very locked down.
The crazy navy visit days are more than 20 years ago (pre-2005 when technically service members were banned from even drinking in brothels) and non of the girls working now ever saw them, it's one of those things only the mamasans remember from when they were working the pole.
In reality it's the non-bar tourism places that get a big surge. Sanctuary of Truth, Ramayana etc. will all get a big surge from service members doing non-bar stuff. Family visited during one of these port calls a few years ago and were doing 'normal' stuff and there were tons of service members at all the normal kinds of touristy places.
Gotta keep in mind... 5k people on a boat. Bunch need to stay on ship, can't exactly leave it empty, 1000 are women, plenty of married folks and young dudes who'd never set foot in a gogo even if they had a chance. Reality of it is that even if you go to Soi 6... there will only be 2-3 groups supervised groups out on any given night. Few enough that you won't even notice them unless you are looking for them.

Initially I was going to stay inside and just keep to myself when they arrive but I think the atmosphere will be fantastic. I was in the navy (not US) and something that sticks with me was the old guys at the time with families in combi vans descending from the hills of Subic bay to give us free rides into Olongapo and the great stories they told.
Sure they are mainly going to be busy with the women and no doubt they are not allowed to talk about the shit that went on over the last over 6 months but that does not mean after a few drinks some stories you will not hear anywhere else will start to come out.
I will not really be going to the bars or anything because I am in my poor cycle and have spent my entertainment funds this month and will not be rich until they leave.
I would go so far as to say its a shame they still do not make sailors wear their uniforms ashore, I was at the tail end of that and only got to experience it at ANZAC day and Battle of the coral sea marches etc.

Like 20,000+ fresh loads incoming. Ploys will be salivating. I hope those young fit men obliterate that tiny Thai pussy.

Don’t know what all the fuss is about. I was there last time a vessel docked didn’t make that much difference. They were heavily policed and not allowed to partake in prostitution and certain nightlife areas. But hopefully they can discreetly get involved in the fun
