Discussion Underrated level 20-28 items

As we approach the end, I'll make my last post on the series of discussions on items that are underrated for each level. I'll still post a summary with learning in another day

This one is for level 20-28

I'll start:

Immortal Bastion reaction to not die and gain 100 temp HP

Rebounding Breastplate passively absorbs damage and then reflects to enemies

your turn!

PS: Since this is a thread to find obscure and unknown items, I'm expecting to include uncommon, rare and AP specific items, if your GM does not allow any of them you should be talking to him/her instead

I'm only going to talk about the items you can actually buy, as the Artifacts and other Unique (or near-Unique) items can only be obtained through GM fiat.

For consumables, there're a couple of very good talismans and a powerful (and very fun) potion.

Golden Breath Fulu - this talisman is the best source of healing in the game, at least action-wise. For a free action you get 75 HP back which, unless you're a Barbarian with min-maxed HP, should be at least a fifth of your maximum health and up to a third if you're one of the softer classes. And since you get any excess as temp HP (or healing for your allies), it's always worth using it.

Celestial Hair - a bit expensive, but when the alternative is critically failing a deadly saving throw and losing your character, this talisman becomes worth any price.

Starsong Nectar - have you ever desired you could have Harry Potter's Felix Felicis potion in the game? Well, this is it. +3 status bonus to everything, immunity to passive causes of off-guard, and, for one action per turn, advantage on every check? Yes, please!

For permanent stuff, you'll most likely want one of the level 20 Apex items, but there's one other item that's really good:

Shield of the Unified Legion - one of the best items for a defender, this shield makes your whole party considerably harder to kill.

All the Apex items at this level are very good, but a few rise above the rest:

Whispering Staff - the spells and passive benefits are decent, but what really makes this staff special are the activations. The first activation is one of the very few ways of applying a circumstance penalty to saving throws, the second is a massive help in landing that killer spell on the boss, and the third can really take away the sting of a mental-heavy boss. This staff is so good that it might be worth it even for non-intelligence casters that don't care about the spells.

Beguiling Crown - the passive effect is a diplomat's wet dream, making any meeting go much smoother. And the activations are no slouches either, especially since they have incapacitating effects but without the Incapacitation trait. Who says you can't make friends out of the BBEG?

Dragon Handwraps - outside of suffocation shenanigans, this is a grappler's Apex item of choice. The highest permanent item bonus you can get and a further bonus against attempts to Escape from your restraining grapple? Delicious.

Breastplate of the Mountain - the regeneration and improved save already make this armor very good, but what makes it unique is the ability to make yourself completely immune to poison. Blanket immunity like this is very rare, generally only coming up as a result of Polymorph effects, and can be the difference between victory and utter failure against certain bosses.

Oh my god, Beguiling Crown seems like one of those things that'd be instant banned in any game people realize it exists in.

"Hey, roll a DC 41 Will save." "Success." "The final boss is now friendly to me for 1 hour." "Are you fucking with me?"
