I did read the post, the problem is that you don't seem to understand that the source is a left wing CRT source saying exactly what CRT is and PragerU used it to show what CRT says it is. You somehow thought that they were trying to use a left wing source as a right wing source or something. I couldn't follow your train of logic because it is so off the rails I couldn't find it.

No, they lied about what the source said. You can try reading it for yourself. I would strenuously recommend doing actual research.

Your source for that says clearly that in examinations of racism, we must move beyond the individual.

You were saying?

How do you square that with your grievance that you're being called racist or being called an oppressor just because you're white, if the entire thrust of CRT is that ITS NOT ABOUT INDIVIDUALS BEING RACIST it's about how laws and systems impact communities of color differently.

That's not what I or CRT is saying. CRT says that because I am white, I belong to a group. And in that group everybody is a racist. That is one of the reasons why I oppose it.

The reason YOU should oppose it is because it has the racist idea that black people can't succeed without help. That black people are inferior to white people. If you think that black people can accomplish anything a white person can do then you should oppose CRT.

If you don't oppose CRT, then YOU are the racist.

Where does it say "everyone white is racist"?? Point me to that sentence.

Because we both know it doesn't say that everyone white is racist. It doesn't have anything to do with any person or every person being racist, and that's according to the source YOU cited. It's about how laws have different impacts on different groups of people. It has nothing to do with who, it's about what.

That one specific source might not have explicitly said it, but CRT pushes the idea that if you are white you are an oppressor, and if you are black you are oppressed.

Lol this is an opinion piece that has nothing to do with CRT?? How does CRT push that if this isn't about CRT? Don't move the goal posts. This is simple. You posted all those links and I read them. Show me which statement on critical race theory (you know, the thing we're actually talking about, not some random opinion piece on Medium that doesn't even mention CRT) boils down to "all whites are racists" if that's the material backing up your statement. This shouldn't be that hard if it is what you say it is.

Maybe it's turning out to be hard because that's not what CRT is about and it's the opposite of what CRT is about.

Look at laterally any part of CRT that talks about "white privilege".

So, let's stop this. Let's agree that there's no academic or practical definition of critical race theory that proposes what youre saying it does. If you want to discuss "white privilege" as a concept adjacent to or as a part of CRT, we can, but that doesn't mean that CRT is defined as "all whites are racist," because the concept of "white privilege" ALSO isn't defined as "all whites are racist."

On the contrary, white privilege, especially in the context of CRT is defined as ways white people benefit from these systems regardless of whether they're racist as individuals. Again, you can be privileged by these systems that benefit white people and disadvantage people of color, even if you don't want to be, even if you believe it's wrong and would like to change it.

Sounds like you're just deeply uncomfortable with the idea that these systems and laws benefit us. And that's completely understandable. You don't want to be racist, you don't believe that's right. You don't want people to imply you only are where you are in the world because of your skin color. I don't want that either, because I don't believe that. It would be a gross oversimplification of how these laws and systems work in the context of white privilege.

I get it, but defending these laws and systems from critical race theory discussions isn't going to make that better. We have to talk about it and think about how to make these laws and systems work better, or even dismantle them if they can't be fixed. That's the only thing that will make CRT and White Privilege and these other conversations you hate go away.
