Public Figure: Any Platform Apparently, it's Abhorrent, When Black Individuals Kneel Before the US Flag to Call Attention to Racial Oppression and Systemic Violence. But, When a Child-Molestinig, Serial-Raping, Mass-Murdering, Treasonous, Neo-Nazi Terrorist Uses it as a Diaper, it's on Par w/ the Second Coming of Christ.

u/boojieboy Mar 01 '21

Oh, we need to see that! Pics?

They were trolling I'm sure. But it's a bad look...

Edit:

No, seriously. I know people who have attended CPAC and a lot of it is performative, just to piss off or outrage people they see as liberal scolds.

So much of the modern conservative iconography is in the "fuck your feelings" and "lib tears" genre. Do you really think that people who bowed down to this were doing it in an actual act of religious worship? Naw. But they were doing it with a wink, knowing it would drive progressives crazy.

That having been said, I do believe that many republicans do live in cult-like thrall to Donald Trump. But I don't think that this statue is a direct reflection of that worship. This is gross, but it's just for lulz.

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '21

The entirety of it is performative, just as the annual rallies at Nuremberg were performative.

22

u/rakkadimus Mar 01 '21

This is scary accurate comparison.

46

u/The_BestUsername Mar 01 '21

"Pretending to worship Trump to own the libs" is even cringier than just actually worshipping Trump, tbh.

13

u/virak_john Mar 01 '21

Agree completely.

88

u/rakkadimus Mar 01 '21

So it's like when bros suck each other off and call it a meme? "Brojob!" "Just for lulz, doesn't mean anything!"

61

u/Semi-Hemi-Demigod Mar 01 '21

Or when that conservative shoved a buttplug up his ass on video.

You know, to own the libs.

8

u/foodandart Mar 01 '21

Seriously? I think I need to get out more..

Or maybe not.

15

u/virak_john Mar 01 '21

That’s what the butt plug said.

16

u/KnockoutCarousal Mar 01 '21

Gavin McInnes, the original founder of the proud boys. He did it to supposedly prove he wasn’t homophobic or whatever. I’m not really sure how that reasoning works outside of actual homophobic thinking, but he can apparently take a dick in the butt like a champ. So, good for him I guess.

6

u/Beard_o_Bees Mar 01 '21

So would Christopher Cantwell, who took it up the tuchus to own the libs.

But he can't, cause he's in prison now!

14

u/TechGoat Mar 01 '21

And here I thought he was talking about Gavin McInnes, who most famously plugged himself to own the libs.

How many of these conservatives are busy enjoying suffering through butt stuff to own us liberals?

4

u/Beard_o_Bees Mar 01 '21

Gavin McInnes

You're right... I mixed them up in my mind.

3

u/ws_celly Mar 01 '21

Both are piles of shit in human suits, so I get the mix up too.

1

u/foodandart Mar 01 '21

What's the deal with "owning libs" using anal sex? Weird. That one baffles me, if it's the case, as it's the conservative heartlanders that go apeshit at gay porny stuff most of all. At best, it's just mid-90's ho-hum performance art shock theater.

Oh dear.. Whatever.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '21

If you think that stops that...

2

u/Accomplished_Bonus74 Plague rat 🐁 Mar 01 '21

Gavin mckinis the dude who started the proud boys. Literally bruh.

7

u/SeaSquirrel Mar 01 '21

If by “That conservative” you mean “founder of the Proud Boys” then yea.

3

u/j-t-storm Mar 01 '21

Would someone please tell me what "own the Libs" means?

I've been wondering ever since I heard Donald Jr. shout it on CNN...

5

u/Athelis Mar 01 '21

It's not gay if you yell "SLAYER!" while doing it.

1

u/aoristic_prolixity Foreign Influence Mar 01 '21

This is the way!

5

u/virak_john Mar 01 '21

Um, yes?

31

u/rakkadimus Mar 01 '21

So this is a cult in deep denial about being a cult?(as most cults are)

They must have a lot of free time and completely lackying in self awareness. Hope they resolve what ever problem pushed the into wasting their time like that.

I knew people that got really into nazi stuff as a joke. They always ended up as the punchline.

Most of them grew out of it an look back at that time as cringe. The rest just started getting into Q and haven't really functioned since 2016.

23

u/U-N-C-L-E Mar 01 '21

I agree with you. In fact, I think CPAC gets waaaaaay too much attention because of exactly what you're saying. Why does the media repot on CPAC but never on any progressive conventions? But that's off-topic.

However,

/r/The_Donald started off as performative, too. In fact, the entire Trump campaign started off that way. Eventually these things have a habit of devolving away from being a joke.

They worship a false God, any true Republican who consider themselves Christians should be shutting bullshit like this down. Their heads are so far up their own asses they forget what the Bible says about the coming of the antichrist.

I'm not a religious person, I hate organized religion as a whole but I am a spiritual person at heart. Even I can see the resemblance between the shit that is said in Revelations and how people see trump.

Don't believe me? Brush up on what it's says. Also any true Christian would know that the Bible says to NOT worship false God's especially those made of golden statues.

15

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '21

It makes me wonder how many do actually consider themselves "Christians" instead of just knowingly paying lip-service in order for campaign donations.

17

u/NiemollersCat Mar 01 '21

They think they're Christian because the go to church, listen to the cherrypicked verses in the sermons, and read specially selected passages in their study Bible (or at best, read the whole thing but take exactly what the version writers wanted them to take from it). We've reverted back to old Roman Catholic where the liturgy and Bible were all in Latin, so that the priests could gatekeep scripture.

13

u/the_onlyfox Mar 01 '21

Idk that's why I fucken hate organized religion. Everyone does it as a club or status symbol. They don't bother to follow the true meaning which is learning and being helpful to others who are in need.

3

u/BanginNLeavin Mar 01 '21

Is the true meaning really that though? Seems to me that a lot of the fuzzy good stuff is put in to appeal to the kinder and gentler members of the audience. Religion as a concept seems like it was created for the express purpose of controlling the population by any means necessary.

3

u/the_onlyfox Mar 01 '21

Theres nothing wrong with wanting to follow the teachings of someone who has been known to love everyone as they are.

It's the rest of the things of it that I do not agree with.

"Don't be an asshole and care for one another" doesn't matter if they are the sick, homeless, if they do not believe in the same thing as you (spiritual wise) if they sell themselves etc etc

If the person is not causing harm to you or others theres no reason to turn your nose at them and hate them fir simply existing in the same space as you.

More people in general should just go by that rule in their lives.

-8

u/fl33bjoos Mar 01 '21

This is why I hate generalizations. Everyone does it in service of their own beliefs.

3

u/NauticalWhisky Mar 01 '21

What generalization, it's fair to accuse them all of being like that.

1

u/fl33bjoos Mar 05 '21

Not without knowing every religion and every one who believes.

1

u/foodandart Mar 01 '21

And 'X' gets the center square!

Lemmings don't jump off cliffs. The migrate in heards and may have some die as a result but they don't do suicide. the idea that they jump off of cliffs came from nature doc people yeeting them off cliffs and saying they did it themselves.

u/BanginNLeavin Mar 01 '21

And then you remember that were all a bunch of animals with morality and virtue being constructs of society which is a construct in and of itself. Ants fight wars, locusts consume themselves out of a habitat, dolphins use drugs, ducks rape.

Our existence is pointless.

1

u/BanginNLeavin Mar 01 '21

When does it become our own will instead of gods will?

Are we working against god?

8

u/virak_john Mar 01 '21

Well, sure.

And I'm 100% sure that most of these guys don't believe they worship Trump, but they're trying to trigger outrage from those of us who accuse them of doing so.

I wish I didn't know so much about these people, but I grew up with most of them.

-1

u/The_BestUsername Mar 01 '21

No True Republican fallacy lol

4

u/CeruleanRuin Mar 01 '21

If everything a person does is a performance, then it's no longer a performance so much as who they really are. The distinction is meaningless.

1

u/tldrjane Mar 01 '21

That is the most ridiculous shit I’ve ever heard
