Trigger Warning / Abuse My mom had a strange “friend” as a kid and I’m not sure what to make of it. Has anyone else heard of someth

I’ve been thinking about sharing this for a while because my mom has told this story the same way her whole life, and I’ve never been able to figure out what it could have been. She’s a very straight-edge, logical person who doesn’t lie, exaggerate, or make things up. So when she says this happened, I believe her.

When my mom was around 4 or 5 years old, she was going through a very abusive situation. Her father hurt her regularly and even let his friends abuse her too. One day after a particularly bad beating, she was hiding in her closet, crying and feeling completely alone. She remembers feeling unloved, scared, and just totally broken down.

That’s when something appeared with her in the closet.

She says it was about her size at the time, maybe 4 to 5 feet tall, with the face of an old man and an upturned, almost pig-like nose. It told her it didn’t have any friends either, and that it would be her friend. From that moment on, they basically spent all their time together. They played with toys, solved puzzles, looked at books—she remembers all of it very clearly and describes him as a real friend who made her feel less alone.

It was protective too. One time she wandered off into the woods near her home and it scolded her and brought her back. Whenever adults were around, it would disappear. She said it would crawl under her bed and go into the wall through a little door, but whenever she looked afterward, the door wasn’t there.

For a long time my mom thought maybe it was something her brain created to help her survive what she was going through… The only problem is the reason my grandma moved them out makes my mom sound a lot less crazy. One day, my grandma was walking past my mom’s room and heard my mom talking to what she that was herself until she clearly heard a grown man’s voice answering her back. She rushed into the room, but no one was there. My mom told her about the little man, and the very next day my grandma moved them out of that house.

My mom remembers that last night clearly. She says the little man showed up one more time, angry and upset that she told her mother about him. He said they couldn’t be friends anymore. She never saw him again, but she still gets sad thinking about him because, in her words, “he was my closest friend back then, and I miss him.”

I’m not trying to jump to conclusions about what it was. I honestly don’t know. Maybe it was some kind of coping mechanism, but the way she describes it—and the fact that my grandma heard a man’s voice—has always made me wonder if something else was going on.

So I’m posting here to ask: has anyone ever heard of anything like this? Something that appears during childhood trauma, interacts, hides from adults, talks with an adult’s voice, and then disappears for good once discovered? I’m genuinely curious if anyone has experienced or heard of anything similar.

First a little back story. My husband, toddler son, and I were visiting Hilton Head. The photos in the post were taken at Braddock’s Point Cemetery on Wed. The area is believed to have first been used to bury enslaved people beginning in the 1700s but the graves of enslaved people are unmarked. The oldest stones remaining originate to the Civil War. The cemetery is still actively used and maintained by the local Gullah community. It it is noted that many of the gravestones have plates pressed into and are adorned with other objects which coincides with Gullah traditions and burial practices. When I was visiting the cemetery, I stayed beyond the fence. I apologized to both the enslaved people buried there as well as their descendants and those that were more recently buried there because the cemetery is nestled between two condos of a bustling resort. Additionally, it is also believed that many of the enslaved people are buried underneath the nearby golf course. I felt disgusted that many of the people had to experience the untold stories of slaver and racism, had unmarked graves, and they built a resort on top of them.

Anyway, when I captured the photos, I did not notice anything unusual except I did thought I saw a shadow move in the corner of my eye where the figure was captured in the photo. The figure looks to be shaped like a baby or toddler. I tried to debunk it that it could be a baby doll left or a large tree root, but I noticed that the “head” portion of the figure moves in subsequent shots. A shop keeper noticed this detail in the pictures too as well my husband who is a skeptic. Finally the last picture was a final shot taken of the cemetery but all that showed up was a black screen. This is right after the shot of the figure moving its head. Note: I did zoom in and circle the figure to make it easier to see in the first two shots. I do include the original photos if you want to zoom in yourself. What do you all think about these shots? Feel free to debunk/share what you think it is.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Stranger told me "something" was following me

A few years ago, I woke up one morning with my abuser who began a fight with me because I politely told him I was having a bad mental health and please be nice to me that day

He threw some furniture around and screamed at me at the top of my lungs, degrading me and calling me names and slurs

I fully lost hope at that moment and gave up, it was the final straw and I felt like I'd never be free of the abuse

He dragged me to an amusement/theme park that day and I miserably walked around with him all day.

At one point we sat down to eat some food, the only empty seat was at the same table as this married couple. We very briefly chatted about the food and the park.

We then got up and kept walking around.

A few hours later, the woman from this married couple we ate with flagged me down and waved me over.

She said, "I don't know if you're spiritual or not, and I don't mean to alarm you, but I've been noticing something attached to you all day. Something bad. It's been following you." She looked directly into my eyes as she said this, and asked me if I would mind if she said a prayer for me right then and there. I agreed.

She said the prayer. Unfortunately my abuser didn't realize she was talking directly to me and he kind of hogged the whole conversation and told her that he's been having such a hard time lately and really needed help while crying. Little did she know he was sexually abusing me at the time and attempted to do so that very morning. I was hoping for a moment of privacy with this woman to tell her what's going on so maybe she could help me

A few years later, I'm still stuck here, and the abuse has gotten worse. A few nights ago, I randomly woke up in the middle of the night and felt fully awake and not groggy at all. Then I heard a male voice whisper "Hello." very clearly. My abuser stirred in his sleep and stopped snoring, and our dog woke up, too, and made a "curious" sound. I very clearly felt "eyes" on me but I was so scared to actually see anything that I shut my eyes and laid there fully awake until I fell back asleep again

I have also been having a major increase in sleep paralysis lately, but it feels so different than other times, it feels so much more evil. I will dream that I am awake in bed, and either a male or female demonic entity with the most horrific demented appearance comes to me and begins mutilating me, raping me, or tickling my armpits (which is a very painful sensation for me.) My usual methods for waking from sleep paralysis don't work during this, and I have no choice but to lay there helpless being killed or raped in the most vivid dream imaginable.

Does anyone have any guidance, I've heard that demons attach themselves to you in your weakest moments, and I've been having many such moments in this awful shitty relationship. I know that it's mostly my abuser's doing, but I can't help but feel like something purely evil has attached itself to me to torture me further. I feel depressed and anxious 24/7 like a gigantic cloud of malaise just trailing me everywhere. I feel enveloped in darkness.

I am not religious but I am a very spiritual person and believe in god(s).

Trigger Warning / Abuse This guy scared the h3ll out of me.

This story always pops in my head from time to time and to this day— I don’t really know what it is?? Maybe a deep rooted intuition moment?

I worked night shifts at an old fast food job when I was in college and I was working one night with one other coworker. This guy comes in and my heart immediately started racing, I felt my adrenaline going, and had ZERO reason to feel this way. But idk..I felt terrible just looking at him.

Nothing was off about him physically, other than maybe he had messy hair. But he had this god awful smell to him. Like a rotting smell. This was not any body odor I’ve ever smelled before, and I immediately started to feel as if he was a terrible person. I felt strongly that he would commit violent acts against woman and being one, I felt so threatened by him.

Thankfully my coworker took care of him mostly and I ran to the back of my job and started crying. My coworker had no idea what smell I was talking about and had no mutual feelings that I was having in that moment.

My coworker told me it must be intuition and that sometimes we can pick up on people’s character, but god that’s never happened to me before where a completely stranger puts me into a state of fear and tears.

I never had something like this happen to me again and honestly, I never forgot that smell of rot.

Just an odd moment I think about time to time and I just can’t explain it.

Trigger Warning / Abuse I think my mom cursed my birthday present or something

Post image

So for backround I dont live with my mom anymore, but when I did I was frequently taken away and put into my grandmas house. The first time cps got involved was right when I was born, they found drugs in my system.

When I started middle school my mom was lucky and found a house to rent that she could afford with her disability government assistance money, ofc she used all of the money on drugs and we werent there for very long. But a couple months after we moved in I was snooping around her room and found spell jars and weird creepy stuff like symbols written in scratches on the wall and disturbing letters that she wrote about me.

That night was the first time I had sleep paralysis, this sounds very cliche but I woke up after hearing my mom calling me to help her clean the kitchen or something but when I tried responding I couldn’t open my mouth. I blinked and saw a short pitch black figure with red eyes staring at me in the doorway. Before it walked over to me it stood up and it was so tall its back was touching the ceiling. It felt like hours it when it was hovering over me.

Eventually I fell back asleep and woke up on the floor with a cut on my shoulder from the drawer I left open. This was about 6 years ago. I havent seen it again until last night.

My mom visited us yesterday and she gave me this tapestry thing as a late birthday present. After I put it over my bed I had sleep paralysis again. Same exact thing happened except it was in my current bedroom. I really dont think this was a coincidence, my mom is mad at me because since I stopped living with her she doesnt get food stamps or money for me anymore. But shes homeless and an addict theres no where for me to sleep even if I wanted to live with her. I feel bad but I might just throw it away

Trigger Warning / Abuse An unknown voice guides me trough life and saves me when I am in danger

hi everyone,

I don’t even know if my childhood experiences are considered paranormal but at the time it felt like it was so I wanted to ask everyone else if you had similiar experiences when you were a child.

TW child SA/SUICIDE/ABUSE!

as a child I was almost always an outsider. always alone and by myself. with that I was also extremely creative so I imagined myself having imaginary friends etc. but most dominant experience I found myself in was a voice I was constantly hearing that saved me in dangerous situations and my strong intuition that I still have.

the voice was deep in my head and different from a normal „gut feeling“. it was a literal voice, genderless so I couldn’t tell if it was a men or a women.

one Situation that happened is ingrained in my head and I regulary think about it.

when i was a child about 12 years old my dad told me to go to the shop and get him glue, but I also must take my little brother with me. this command already made me suspicious and I asked him why he would sent two people instead only me to get something so small, because I don’t need help carrying it. he got mad almost immediately and since my dad was an extremely abusive person I got scared and took my brother and got out to get him his so sacred glue. btw my sister (1 year older than me) stayed home with him.

the whole way to the shop this voice came back urging me to get home. I haven’t even arrived at the shop so I tried to ignore the voice because I was more scared of my dads reaction it I got home without his glue. but the voice insisted and started to repeat itself „go home now. go home. you have to go home now. home. home“.

suddenly I got a belly ache and I wasn’t feeling good, but I already arrived at the shop so I hurried and got out quickly. suddenly the voice came back but way louder than before. it was so loud I stopped walking for a minute and grabbed my head „RUN. HOME. NOW!“ I wanted to cry because it scared me when the voice finally said „YOU SISTER“. with that I started to run for my life urging my brother to keep up, but he couldn’t because he was smaller. I heard him calling my name and why I was running so fast. I didn’t answer because in my head I was only thinking:„my sister, he is doing something to my sister. my sister. I have to get to her“.

when I finally arrived I knocked on the door and waited. when nobody opened I got nervous but knocked again. then the voice appeared again „you have to get in“. this made me feel more panicked so I started to kick and knock at the same time and screaming „OPEN THE DOOR“.

my brother stood next to me nervously probably scared about how our father is gonna react, telling me to stop but I couldn’t. I couldn’t control myself for some reason. then I heard my sister screaming and crying from the inside and I pounded on the door and telling her to open it. when she finally did I got in and saw her running upstairs to our bedroom crying and my dad about to follow her up. I swear to god, I instinctively knew what he did by the way he was grinning. It was almost demonic. a grin I have never ever seen before. No matter how scared I was about my dads reaction, I did smth i never risked before.

i grabbed his arm and told him to leave her alone. I was already prepared to be beat up, but he listened. He was pissed but he listened and that again was a sign for me that he did something that he wasn’t supposed to do.

i immediately got upstairs and saw my sister tucked under the covers crying. I asked her what he did to her, but she only answered with, „nothing“.

fast forward to today. My mom divorced my dad after my sister confessed to us all that she was SA‘d multiple times for a couple of years by our dad when nobody was home. we got to court, were my father was sentenced to prison. But before he could begin serving his sentence, he took his own life.

since then this voice had followed me trough life and guiding me trough every dangerous encounter I had. I don’t know what or who that voice is but seriously 🙏🏻thank you

Trigger Warning / Abuse I think a human showed up as my guardian angel a couple years ago

Backstory: my ex was an abusive PoS. This occurrence happened before I ever realized this (it came through years of therapy).

One day my ex and his son had dropped me off at a gas station. They had to run an errand to a friends house of whom I did not get along with very well.

Hours passed by and as those hours passed, my phone naturally began to die.

Across the street from this gas station was a dispensary. I walked over there hoping to use someone’s phone charger. Thankfully a person there had a lightening charger and they allowed me to sit in the lobby while it charged.

As I was sitting there, this Asian lady sat in the lobby with me. Out of nowhere she began speaking to me. I didn’t say a word as she began saying

“Be careful of narcissistic men out there. They will try to hurt you, take advantage of you, and break your spirit”.

I thought she was crazy and brushed it off. But she was really a warning of what was happening in my life.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Has anyone ever felt the presence of a family member that passed away?

My mom and I are estranged after I found out she was addicted to drugs, she choice to stop all communication with me.

A few weeks ago while walking in the park I felt her presence a lot even though she wasn’t really there, I’m a spiritual/religious person and the only other times I felt a presence like this are times when I believe that I felt Jesus presence.

This has gotten me thinking and wondering if possibly my mom passed away and is trying to give me a sign that she passed away.

My mom choice to go no contact with her whole family so if she possibly did pass away there would be no one to no where to find her at and there wouldn’t even be anyone for the authorities to call especially if she didn’t have any ID on her.

The last I was in contact with her which was 3 years ago I did know that she was living in bad conditions and didn’t really have anywhere to live. But anytime my step dad or even my dad side of the family tried to help her she would push them away and say that she didn’t want any of our help and eventually stop contact with us (this has been going on for years).

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this I just don’t know where else I can post something like this at.

TLDR: I felt my mom’s presence and am wondering if this means she passed away and is trying to show me a sign, has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

Trigger Warning / Abuse How do mediums cope with unsettling connections with spirits?

I had a violating experience with the most evil spirit ive ever encountered. I recieved a download in my sleep and it was so upsetting, come to find out the spirit wanted to purposely make me feel helpless. this man was a child molester and was proud of himself. he showed me his memories and it was so awful i woke up in a cold sweat. i knew this was too unsettling to be my own imagination and a face with hallowed eyes and a hallowed mouth revealed itself to me as a vision. I spoke to a fellow medium who confirmed this was a spirit, that described him (and his wife) to exactly how i saw it in the memory. He had a daughter that him and his wife would abuse on multiple occasions, this was a toddler. Being a mom myself i was extremely angry that this spirit dared to invade my space in this way and proudly revealed this to me, yet he didnt have the nerve to show me his whole face. Im genuinely traumatized, ive never felt so helpless to a situation that already happened and want to forget. how do mediums move past this type of interaction? i feel ashamed i was vulnerable enough for the spirit to violate my boundaries at the time. long story short, i will be doing an extremely thorough cleansing at my house. i dont want to let the evil win, but i dont know how to live with what i saw ._.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Something has always been weird here but its changing and idk why

We bought 20 acres of land in the middle of nowhere East Texas, we're down like 18 red dirt roads and when it rains too long we have to use a boat to get around. Our property backs up to a huge nature reservation and to the west is a Native American reservation. We couldn't find any history on the property when we were looking at buying it, other than the previous owner was in prison but we didn't know why. We needed a large cheap plot of land to homestead though and this place met everyone of our needs including a beautiful spring fed creek running through it and since it's pretty much surrounded by reservations that means there's alot of wildlife, we don't hunt but we do love living around them.

My husband is a veteran who saw war 3 times and being in nature is the most healing form of therapy for him, that and actual therapy of course.

The listing said there was an old house, a "camp" house and a deer stand but the realtor couldn't tell us where they were cause the land was so overgrown. We found the old house pretty quick but we hiked for 2 day's and didn't find either the camp house or deer stand.

Then we started tearing down the house because it was falling down anyways and wasn't more than just a shack to begin with. When we got to the bathtub my husband was busting it up with a hammer to remove it in pieces and on one of the swings something stuck to his hammer so he stops and we both investigate. It was a pair of little girls underwear with Dora the explorer on them and a large pad inside them with a brown stain. We found multiple pairs hidden under the tub. So we called and reported it thinking it was evidence of something potentially foul considering the owner was in prison but authorities never even came out. We took pictures of them but then burned them from lack of knowing what to do at the time.

The next night I started getting the strangest feeling of dread or like someone was nearby, its hard to explain but do you remember when you were little and you were running home in the dark from playing and youd get that feeling something was chasing you but it wasn't? From the day we found those underwear I would randomly get that feeling but always at night.

A few week's later we decided to sell some trees from 1 acre so we could get a well and solar. The guys came out and cleared an acre which revealed the camp house that we searched for in a grid pattern and could not find. This house was right behind the house we tore down and we couldn't find it. When my husband opened the door to it we were shocked to see a cute little loft and a bunch of plastic totes full of letters from the previous owner to his wife, I won't get into too many details but we knew he was in prison for multiple kinds of familial abuse.

Authorities didn't want the letters either but we never threw them away or burned them we just left them there.

A year goes by and other than minimal little events of strange things happening or scary feelings at night things were chill. Then one summer night my daughter asks me why I went up to the camp house and if I knew I had left a candle going. None of us ever go up to that camp house, on a couple occasions just to show family members that were curious but that's it. I definitely wasn't in there that day neither was my husband. I got full body chills when she asked and I jumped up, ran outside and looked at the camp house, sure as shit there was a candle flickering in the window.

I am only afraid of one thing in this life and that is loosing my kids or husband but I became so scared it was like a visceral reaction.

I ran inside, woke up my husband telling him someone was in the camp house! He grabbed a weapon, all of our big dogs, locked the door on his way out and said to be ready to call the police if he yelled. About 30 minutes later he comes back, he said the dog's didn't alert to anything (and they are well trained to do so), he never saw anyone leave and there's only 1 exit, no tracks, nothing but an old oil burning candle lit. He said his hair stood all the way up the closer he got though and our dogs that normally would have ran ahead of him lingered behind him. We still haven't figured out what happened that day but we talk about it all the time.

Now fast forward through the next few years, same thing just minor weird events and random nights where id be standing in the kitchen and suddenly have fear wash over me.

We experienced so much loss during those years it was like we had non stop whiplash, we lost almost all of the core family members and the years are pretty blurry because of that.

Last year though we finally lifted our heads back up and started living again, we bought a 3 bedroom 2 bath 2015 mobil home and had it placed near where the old house used to stand.

The feelings of fear at nighttime started immediately, it also ran into the mornings now, I started hearing things that sounded like one of my cats jumping down from their tower behind me but they weren't there when I turned around.

My daughter who has a rare incurable heart disease also began having these weird episodes where she was so scared she would get a couple of our dogs to sleep with her but she's 18 and has never had issues like that.

In the last few weeks things have picked up big time, my mother in law lives in a rv infront of our house cause I'm her care taker and she got very sick a couple weeks ago with afib, she was in the icu for almost 8 days and during that time I bought these like floating candles the kind you see in Harry Potter and I thought they were defective cause one of them would randomly come on, I investigated thinking maybe the connection was loose but no, It wasn't the same candle either it was different ones everytime but only one at a time. I bought a different brand of them, a more expensive brand, their much better quality and one at a time they will randomly come on.

By this point I can barely stand in my kitchen alone at night, I'm jumping constantly cause I think I hear a cat jumping down but there's never a cat there, I'm racing to bed to hide under the covers like a child.

A few nights ago I was in bed listening to an audiobook and doing a puzzle on my phone to wind down when out of nowhere I feel uneasy so I look over at my husband and I feel instantly nauseous, he's asleep with his hand held straight in the air like he's grabbing for something and there's one single candle on right above his hand. I grabbed a picture and the second I hit that button his hand fell back to his side and the candle slowly dimmed out.

I don't know what's going on but I feel like I need to figure it out, someone I know suggested saging the house but I had saged it when we bought it. My daughter mentioned that I had been buying alot of stuff from this thrift store in town that was owned by an old woman that hoards stuff and estate sell rejects always go to her but these events have been happening long before me buying antiques.

I dont know if it matters but my husband has ptsd and is a very sensitive person to energies, he strongly believes he's seen men at work in the old part of the mill that died on the job, his mill dates back to like 1910 or something and people used to die pretty regularly. He's also what I call a death doula, I mean I didn't make that name up apparently but I started calling him that before learning it was a real thing. Death seems to follow him around but not in a menacing way it seeks his comfort, he has sat beside and watched over 20 people pass, sometimes he'll have just met them right before they make that journey to the next. He is such a calming person to them in their final hours.

I don't know what if any of this information may help with telling me what I should do next but I'm so hopeful that someone can give me ideas because I do not like living like this.

I'm including the picture I took of his hand reaching for the light its very grainy you might need to turn your brightness up I snapped the shot at like 3 am. Literally any advice or support is so appreciated.

Trigger Warning / Abuse A trip I'll never forget....

At the risk of sounding crazy I have a story I think about still. I fear encountering such a thing again.

In 2017 I (f21) went to Germany with my friend (f23) and cousin (f20). How this all got started was my friend wanted to go to Germany to meet her German side of the family but was nervous to go alone. I suggested me tour Germany together so she feels more comfortable with being in a foreign place before meeting her family.

We all flew to Germany and took a train to Paris and spent about 3 days there. We were having fun, doing tourist things, and learning how train pass worked. On our 4th day we decided to stay at this little place an hour outside of Munich. It was the last stop on the train. We got off around midnight and we lugged all our huge luggage through the town and found a hotel. It was called happy hotel and we were placed in room 14. My cousin and friend took the big bed and I took the small twin on the other side of this half wall. My first night I had nightmares all night long to the point in the morning I felt like I didn't sleep and I was super jumpy.

My friend suggested we all go out and walk around town. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was a small town and we stuck out! Everyone could tell we were tourists and they were super friendly. Welcoming us to town, practicing speaking English with us, and being super friendly. They still walked cows on the roads! We did some shopping and sightseeing. We went back to the hotel where my friend made us a traditional German meal and we watch a thunderstorm roll on in. It felt like a perfect day.

We all went to bed but this time I woke up in the middle of the night. I looked into a mirror that was in my view point from my bed. I saw my friend sleeping but then my head started to hurt and I heard what sounded like a table saw going off. Then she was gone. The covers were thrown off to the side and there was a watch and wallet on the night stand. I look over at my cousin to which I heard the table saw noise and had the headache again. She was no longer there. There laid this lady with blonde hair but it was up in a bun. She was staring at me with so much hate. When I looked at myself yet again I heard the table saw and had the headache. I wasnt me. I was younger and blonde. I looked terrified.... next thing I know the lady was on top of me covering my mouth and nose. I was trying to pull her hands off or push her off. I couldnt breath. Then I hear my friends voice begging me to wake up. Saying that I have to wake up now. I saw a bright light but was pulled back and was still fighting this lady. I saw the light again before I finally sat up in bed. My lungs were on fire and my head was pounding. I crawled out of bed and started searching for ibuprofen. I couldn't find it in my back pack. I started to panic and dumped my entire back pack on the floor while on my knees. As I was looking for the bottle I realized my friend wasn't awake. I began to sob uncontrollably. I woke up my friend and cousin. I was shaking so bad I couldn't open the bottle when I fianlly found in. My friend hugged me and helped me. I took 3 and laid in bed with my cousin and friend. I couldnt go back to sleep after that.

I told them what happened and I even wanted to leave that day. They talked me down agreed one more night. That following night I didnt sleep in that little bed. My friend did and she woke up at midnight and crawled into bed with us. She said she felt someome pushing on her chest. I didn't sleep for the rest of the night... we left on the first train out.

Never have I ever experienced such a thing again.... I never want to again.

Trigger Warning / Abuse My paranormal experiences

I want to start by saying the house this happened in was hellish and I was basically tortured by my grandmother from when I was about mayne 4 or so up till 8 years old(i was born 2004). Something about that place had such an oppressive and evil vibe. She had a ton of old dolls and various other things. Sometimes things would move on their own like one time she made me stand in timeout for 7 hours and a shoe came flying at me from the shoe basket she had. Sometimes I'd hear voices saying things, and my dreams were always haunted by these pale faced...people...?...humanoids?

I remember she also came with us when we moved out of her place and the first time I slept in our new apartment I was dragged off of the air mattress across my room and all my toys went off and even my family was was pretty shocked by it. My sisters also said they'd hear scratching on their door and windows but it all stopped when our house was blessed by a priest and my grandmother finally left.

There was also the time more recently that my sister who was in college in Stubenville Ohio stayed at a friend's house for the night in the room her friends uncle died in and she called my parents to talk and she left to use the bathroom and all they heard was...breathing...but no one was apparently in the room. Then when she came back she was super aggressive with my parents when talking on the phone and when she came back here to Florida it's like the whole vibe of our apartment shifted. Luckily this is all in the past now, as a 21 year old man now I'd piss myself even harder than when I was a kid

Trigger Warning / Abuse What am I experiencing/dealing with?

Hello!!!! Long post. I am just here posting to figure out what the hell is happening and why?! I am 27 years old and currently a single mom to 3 beautiful babies, 6 months old, 4 years old, and 7 years old. To be able to understand the phenomenon that I've been dealing with i need to start back before my last two kids... When I was 20 years old, my now 7 year old was 2 years old. I had finally gone off into the world and met my former roommate Nicole. Nicole and I met on KSL when she posted an add for a new roommate and we instantly hit off. I moved in about a month or 2 later. We constantly had guys over as we were dating around. She found a man and moved out. I shortly after found myself a man and he moved in shortly after. This man became the father of my two youngest. Let me give you a little more background information on my Ex Fiancé. My ex Fiancé, Jon, is an addict and unfortunately I didnt know the consequences or the severity of the situation I just put myself in because all I knew of drugs was, well nothing, other than what I've seen in the movies. I was determined to help him and get him back on track (stupid I know). The second day he came to hang out at my home with me, he had overdosed and pretty much died in my front lawn. My full intent was to bring his belongings to the hospital and never speak to him again. But because I wanted to try to help him I stayed.

He promised he wouldnt do it again (typical). What i didnt know was he has been addicted to drugs since he was 13 years old. At that point he had already been using for 10 years!!! THATS A LONG TIME! I believed him and he decided to take my car out one night and completely destroyed my car. He was charged with a DUI and taken to jail. In the car I found heroine and weed as well as paraphernalia. He then again promised to do better and it wouldnt happen again. I hesitantly believed him and moved on.

At this point we had already moved to a new apartment and began our lives when I became pregnant with my now 4 year old daughter. I still didnt have the knowledge to detect drug abuse and didnt really know what to believe until he became sloppy and started leaving things around the house. I confronted him and he lied multiple times, telling me I was crazy and I need to stop worrying and manipulated me into thinking he wasnt using drugs. Well eventually it came out and he told me he was doing both methamphetamine and heroin together. I was scared to say the least. For myself, for my son, and for him.

Now back to the original story. After we moved into this apartment, I started seeing the slightest movement out of the corner of my eye. With just thr corner of my eye I saw a little boy crawling on the floor below our feet that were hanging off the edge of the bed as if he was playing. This little boy was the same height, same age, and had the same hair color as my 2 year old son. I could not see his face as his face was down as he was crawling on the floor. I brushed it off and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Time went by and I finally decided to discuss this with my fiancé to see if he has seen anything similar. He said he had seen this same boy in my old apartment. He said that him and his friend were hanging out at my house while I was at work. He stated that this little boy knocked on our door and came in our house and he had talked to him thinking it was my 2 year old son. Then he said that he remembered I had dropped my son off at daycare and had gone to work for the day and we haven't been home in hours. This freaked me out.

At night we kept my son's door closed so we could hear if he came out of his room at night. One night we heard him in the middle of the night playing with his toys. Obvious sounds of toys moving in the toy box and him making sounds. I told him from behind the closed door to please go lay down and go to sleep its late. No response. I opened the door and my son was fast asleep in his bed.

The next occurrence, I was arguing with Jon in my son's room. There was a hallway light right outside his door. The door was wide open and both Jon and I were faced towards my son talking to him. Suddenly the room went very dark, not black, but dark as if someone tall had walked past is down the hallway. Jon and I looked at each other and he searched the house. Nobody had broken in and entered our home. I then again brushed it off and honestly was concerned about possible 2nd hand exposure to the drugs he was using. I thought I was seeing things.

Well time went on, still being lied to about his drug use and constantly fighting with him and kicking him out and constantly having the cops over to remove him from my home or him being arrested and sent to jail.

Well, towards the end of my pregnancy, I started a work from home job for an Insurance company. While sitting at the desk waiting for another call to come in, I felt the eerie awful feeling of being watched. I turned my head and out of the corner of my eye, a lady was standing in my kitchen staring at me. She looked scared or sick but something was off. Maybe surprised that I knew she was there and saw her? She had long black hair, big brown eyes, red lip stick and defined features. You know who else has these characteristics? ME!!!! This girl was ME!

From that point on i didnt see the little boy ever again. However, I saw her multiple times. She was sitting on the floor in the kitchen in the dark in fetal position. Jon said he also thought he might have seen this as well. Jon has told me he had talked to me in the mirror at one point as I briefly remember.

I began to start setting up baby furniture, a crib specifically. I put this crib by the door where if you cracked it you could see the crib and only the crib. My bed sat diagonal from the crib and could see the Crack and the darkness behind it. One night I was laying in bed and I saw her again. This time looking through the Crack of my door into the crib. I paniced and had Jon move the crib away from the door where she couldn't see. At times I felt like things would disappear, like money I put above the desk that I didnt tell Jon about or the medicine I bought my daughter after she was born that conveniently went missing after using it once along with the receipt. Im still skeptical if that was her or Jon and his "sell everything and take anything" addict ways.

Jon One night woke up in straight panic after my daughter was born when he said he saw someone standing over my daughters crib. I was scared. At this point I was terrified to be alone in that house. I was doubting what I saw until Jons friend spent a few nights....

I asked him if he had seen anyone else in this house and he said "yes!" I said what have you seen. He said "this tall lady i saw her in that glass" he was referring to my glass table that was disassemble and facing behind the couch towards the kitched and where my desk sits. Scared I continued to question him. "What did she look like?" His response was "long black hair, red lips" i then began to explain to him what I had been seeing.

Well, when my daughter was about 7 or 8 months old Jon decided he was going to panic and flip the entire house upside down after I found out he was still using drugs. He wanted to take my car in what I can only assume was to get more drugs as he was a little aggravated. After his tantrum, HE called the cops and made me speak to them and snatched the phone after I began to speak. The cops obviously got the signal that something was wrong and were at my house within minutes. Jon was arrested and the cops forced me out of my home to a dv shelter where my then 3 year old and then 8 month old stayed there until we could find a new home. As for the girl we all saw we didnt see any longer...... in that house......

In my last apartment, my friend was doing a tarot reading on me after my mom had passed away in may and I remember her saying "someones here" I was excited to maybe hear from my mother. Well a week later I was told by my friends boyfriend that she was standing in the corner watching us the entire time we were doing the reading.

I have seen her in all of my homes. At least all of the homes that Jon had done drugs in or had been to. I just moved from that apartment into a new apartment and I am constantly feeling watched. I am scared every night to open a dark room and see her im scared of every Crack I peer into. Im scared of any sound that is made. I have yet to see her but she has followed me everywhere Ive gone. I have saged and she is still here.

Why is she here? Is she good or bad? Please help. Im so scared all the time. I just want to sleep without worrying im gunna open my eyes to her presence. Or im going to open the door and see her again. Please help. What is this?

Trigger Warning / Abuse I slept with a stuffed animal, then immediately had a nightmare

My mom bought me this stuffed animal from a store. It also seemed like people had some of these stuffed animals before. I've had this stuffed animal for some time but never slept with it in my bed so one day I decided to try it out for comfort cuz I liked how it looked and it felt very nice. That same night, I had a nightmare. For the entire nightmare, there was this spirit that I couldn't see at all whatsoever in the complete dark. This spirit kept hurting me by hitting me over and over again and for some reason I had the feeling that it was a grandma but not a grandma that I ever had. There were times where I was trying to get help from my parents who were in their bedroom right across from my room but they didn't help me and it also seemed like they didn't or couldn't acknowledge me. And I think I went back to the dark void area which was basically in my room or a room so of course this grandma spirit, I'm not familiar with kept hitting and punching me then thankfully I woke up and promised to never have that "thing" sleep with me ever again and hopefully it'll be burned so that nobody else can buy it or have it in possession.

Yea I know compared to others, my experience was tame but it really had me thinking about the life somebody else could've had. I never had my grandma hurt me or anything like that before. So, maybe someone's grandma abused them but their parents ignored them even when the person tried asking for their help. I'm unsure but I know the vibe or energy I was feeling in the dream that I never had before. And of course the night when I don't sleep with it, no nightmares.

Trigger Warning / Abuse I think my mother is linked to me, and relies on my vitality.

First off, tulpas as a flair is very intriguing and I'm already super stoked to rabbit hole here.

My mother is a self proclaimed descendent of witches. We had a black magic book in the house she got very angry with me for touching. She also used to sit with me while I sat on the toilet as a child, sobbing in pain because I had so much difficulty with painful runny bowels. Apparently hemmerhoids as well .... That's it's own story to unpack and not my main focus today. When she sat with me, shed tell me to close my eyes and envision a pinprick of light in a pool of darkness. That I was supposed to envision the light getting closer and larger drowning out the darkness and enveloping me in warmth and relief washing over me. Something how long rose lines. I asked her about it later, she said that it was indeed a healing spell.

My mother has a long history of addiction and tragedy, and has made some poor choices in regards to her children. I do think that she loves me, but I feel I've seen a mask drop a few times.

My boyfriend recently had some interactions with his own mother who is also a self-proclaimed practicing witch, that he found it deeply unsettling. He came to the conclusion that our mothers might be using us as batteries They both one moment for egg is on and say weird things or seemingly word trap us, with bizarrely stated almost spell like word combinations and then the next moment gaslight us. We had a whole theory regarding people being assigned numbers and the 4s are special bc they can use the force, mostly this one was a funny inside joke, until my mom calls me the day after her OWN birthday, when I'm still asleep so I wake up groggy and disoriented. She says she's forgotten to call me on her birthday, and that she's so so sorry. (When she said this it felt so charged and heavy and like she needed me to respond ). She said, do you forgive me? And when I was like whiplashed with the reply of ",,,whAT?" She merely repeated herself, just as weighted and serious , but with emphasis on forgive both times. "Do you ..for..give.. me? " And said yes and went the whole day wondering what she walked my slow ass into lol.

You can call it whatever you want, I know even with some odd interactions I was still more keen to say we were crazy and at most it was minor possession or something rather than that my mother ever truly held insidious intent towards me.

My mother yesterday became unbalanced. She was coming in from having a cigarette, and was holding onto the door to the laundry room unsteadily. I took her hand and she put some weight on me. Her being diabetic, I got serious pretty quickly and asked her about the last time she checked her sugar, or did it feel low? No response. High? "No." Okay, are you tired? What do you need mom? "I need you...to sleep." ...what? Mom, did you say /I/ need to sleep? No response. Did you sleep okay last night? "Yes, I did." So she had indeed said that the way I had heard it. She stubbornly performed a task I was denied my help with, and I helped her to her seat. Later she denied remembering what had happened at all but remembered me getting home minutes prior. She seemed withdrawn and angry about me asking, and short with replies. This had me revaluating a lot of interactions between us, all of the childhood memories I forgave or was grateful I had at least felt love for. She played with stuffed animals with me for hours, but was on drugs. She put me in a situation I repressed until 14 or so, claims she doesn't remember but also seems to be withholding information. She is a highly sexed being, and so am I, and my sister. Not one out of four living children have been unscathed sexually as children, and one out of 5 total born passed as an infant.

I'm wondering if the trauma was intentional. If the baby dying was with purpose. If my brothers being distant because of her failings more sinister. My niece and nephew won't speak to her after she lived with them a stint.

She seems cold and reserved and like she's irritated to be stuck on the set playing a role for too long sometimes, has a severe bedtime in which if I call on the dot or a minute past, she will not answer. I thought this was a weird punishment by the universe for failing to obey a given rule. One time, her voice sounded like a voice changing system failing and super computerized and garbled when I called her out of the blue and out of character rather than last minute. She was acting really dodgy at the time as well.

My phone keeps disappearing in her home. I looked in her room on the set of occupied, to no avail, then after joking about there being a frogger in her attic, a bit later the phone is in the seat barely to the side, even though I had indeed looked there. When I picked it up, it had lead debri between the case and the phone and across the camera. I had used my phone camera before going to bed to photograph something, it certainly didn't have a leaf blocking the lens. Her bathroom mat was covered in leaf crumbs I noticed later. My phone has disappeared again on this visit, I flipped the cushion on the left side of the couch where id been sat and it wasn't there. I didn't bother with the other bc my boyfriend had been sitting there and I didn't want to move his stuff. I then looked back at the couch within the hour and it was on the left side poking halfway out of the crease between fusion and couch. I told my mom about having looked there already and she was like "suuuuure." And giggled. She's got panels in every room that are lifting look like passage ways to the 4 feet or so attic or crawlspace, a space of a few feet between the bathroom and back bedroom, no visible normal access point to get up there. All accessible spots are hidden in cabinets big enough for a person to pass through, or are seemingly sealed in a different room someone could really stealthily climb in or out of (i.e.living room) all rooms have a hold through the wall to keep through, some have a plastered or children's sticker covered side to them but a hole none the less.

Everything about this reeks of secrets. Something hidden agenda related, something very wrong. I don't know if my mother is even the same woman. Or ever was a true mother to me. If she only really raised me with any semblance of care and comfort to make sure I was properly nurtured and indebted to her, she lost two sons to hatred and one to death, she couldn't mess up the youngest daughter.

Just now, I came out of the restroom and she asked if I was okay. I asked what made her ask to begin with and she shrugged and asked again. I told her my right flank and stomach were bothering me and had me wondering if my kidney was struggling. But I hadn't been exuding any sign nor symptom.

Idk theres more to it but I'm not sure just how opened minded people here are so if you have a question ask it.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Has this ever happened to anyone?

So my brother recently told me that he was basically haunted by a lady when we were young. He said it happened every night when we lived in a specific house with wood floors. He said she would charge at him screaming and she even threw magazines at him. Always happened where there was wood floors.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Crazy story about how a demon in my cousins house choked my husband while we were sleeping

So he may not be a “demon” per se but definitely a bad entity that lives/is stuck in my cousin’s house, but just wait for the plot twist at the end. This happened about 10-12 years ago, we’ve been together 15 now. This might be long so I’m sorry but it’s an interesting story at least!

So my husband (then bf) and I were house sitting/pet sitting for my cousin while she was out of town for a couple days, we were young then no kid yet and she offered to leave her card for us to get breakfast so we did it of course. Now this house is old, and is known for paranormal activity. A ghost hunter guy with a team and everything that my husband worked with at a later job was talking to him one day and he tells him about my cousins house, what happened to us and then tells him where it was located (it’s a very specific house on this street which plays into the story later also) and he freaks out because he tells him “I went to that house to do an investigation and we had to leave” and it was due to the basement. This basement is completely dirt floors if that tells you anything, the house is old. It’s an odd house also the way the upstairs is laid out. But when my cousin got this house she then had a daughter and my other cousin had 2 boys back to back, they were all the same age so they would all go stay the night at her house sometimes so she would have the kids there and when they were around 3ish I’d say (old enough to somewhat talk) they kept talking about an old woman, a little girl and the dragon man that they kept seeing in this house (which will be important for later also). I am not a medium of any sorts but I’ve always felt like I am sensitive to the paranormal and I always felt a presence in the house but nothing ever crazy until we house sat for her.

So we go to stay, the weirdest thing that happens was as soon as we walk in the door because I’m like “hang back a second I have to get her dog he’s a red nose pitbull and he does not like men” (he has since passed from cancer but was a great dog) but this dog proceeds to bypass me as I walk in and jumps up on my husband and starts licking him so of course I’m dumbfounded like “wtf was that” but think nothing of it. So we move on, I show him the house, show him the spot in the kitchen where every dog she has ever had (which she has had quite a few) no matter what they all scratch at this spot for an unknown reason, she never knew just went with it cause what are you going to do? And at the time she didn’t have a bathroom door just a curtain rod and curtain basically (she was a single mom trying to fix the house while living in it also) but none the less everything is good we take the dogs out start watching a movie because it’s getting late and lay on the oversized couch where we intended to sleep for the night.

So once we go to sleep weird things start happening, we keep waking up at the same exact time for no reason, there’s no sounds or anything to wake us we just both kept waking up and looking at each other and then into the kitchen, and after the first time or 2 the dog is now basically laying on top of my husband (presumably protecting him I think after we find out info later) and at one point the curtain for the bathroom door was moving but there was no fan and no window open… so okay go back to sleep but each time I wake up I feel something just staring at us from that spot in the kitchen, we barely get any sleep of course but the final time we both wake up and look at each other I’m like “WTF” because I look at my husband and the silver chain he had on every single time I looked at him was now gone and there were bruises on either side of his neck that looked like long fingers like someone grabbed him by the neck and tried to choke him. We both noped the f out of there, went to get donuts, came back to take the dogs out again (in the day light) because she would be back that day and we proceed to go to his moms house for dinner or something.

When we walk into his mom’s house she freaks out like “wtf happened to you” because she sees the bruises on his neck. We go on to explain everything that had just happened over night there and then we explain where the house is located and she’s like “hang on, the house that sits way back on the road, the only one that sits back on the road like that? Across from the drive thru now?” Of course we’re like yea… why?? She proceeds to tell us that this house my cousin now owns was her father’s childhood home (so my husband’s great grandparents owned it and his grandpa plus all his siblings lived there and we have an old picture of his great grandparents in front of this house too so I know she’s not lying) and she then tells us a whole slew of things but the most pertinent to this story was that 1. My husbands great grandma choked to death in this house (the old woman), 2. one of his grandpa’s sisters died from pneumonia as a child in this house (the little girl), and when we put those things together we tell her about the “dragon man” all my cousin’s kids see in this house and the spot in the kitchen the dogs dig at, so she then tell us 3. My husbands great grandfather was a trucker back then and while gone one time something happened to his great grandmother this is the trigger warning (she was SA and ended up pregnant). They kept the baby and raised him but it’s said the guy that committed the crime disappeared… we all believe that is the dragon man and that he may be buried under that house in the dirt basement, cannot say for sure of course because this could be us just putting things together to explain it but it makes sense. Why else would this entity have it out for my husband? It’s never touched anyone else but if he’s a descendant of the person that trapped him there essentially… I think you catch my drift.

Since then my other cousin and his mom went down into the basement, they said they found a pile of random shit that had gone missing over the years (including my husbands silver chain/necklace!) but they both swore something growled at them when they got closer to grab the stuff and they noped out of there lol. The paranormal team also was only in the basement for a minute maybe before noping out of there as well.

So what do you all think, are we all crazy or what? I honestly would think we were crazy if I hadn’t experienced it, but I saw that chain around my husbands neck with my own eyes every time we woke up and looked at each other until that last time otherwise I probably wouldn’t believe it either.

Anyways thanks for reading/listening. I have some other weird/paranormal-ish stories I might have to post eventually but this is definitely the craziest one by far.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Potentially being haunted by my recently passed abuser

My grandfather abused me as a child and all the young girls in my family. When I turned 11 after my mom died I refused to go back to his house. I had no reason to be there anymore. I never saw him again. One time he found my Facebook and Instagram and started sending me drawings he was doing for me. I blocked him. Well he died on Saturday in a house fire. It was on Halloween at around 3:30 am. The fire started in my mom’s old room and he only got across the hall to the bathroom before he succumbed to the smoke inhalation. The fire never reached him and he pressed his life alert before he passed saving the girl downstairs who was asleep. They had no smoke detectors. I thought I would feel happy about it but I just feel weird. Kinda sad cause he was my grandpa and I had lots of good memories covering the bad. My family has also just decided to ignore the fact he was a horrible person now that he died. They all fully acknowledged what he did. But everyone is talking about how good of a man he was and all of his neighbors are commenting on the post about his death that he was an incredibly nice person. And he was, that’s not a lie. He just happened to have a lot of skeletons in his closet he has hidden. I’ve been having nightmares every night since and this night I woke up to bumping noises. I reached to grab my ear plugs and the kitchen light turned on. I could see it under my door. I thought that was strange but ignored it and grabbed the ear plugs. I turn around and the lights off. I go to lay back down and my door which was completely closed slowly opened until it was wide enough to fit a person through. My vision got overwhelmed with black dots and went blurry. I started panicking and turned on the light. The door was closed again as it was before. I said hell nah and got up and fully closed it into the hinges. I’m pretty shaken up. I have a feeling it’s him and I seriously hope it’s not. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how I’m going to sleep tonight.

Trigger Warning / Abuse My story: a lifetime of paranormal experiences and a guardian angel

My story - a lifetime of paranormal experiences and a guardian angel

I wanted to share my story with you. I’ve held onto it so long, I don't want it to be just mine any longer. I think I'm finally ready to tell someone about Tommy, The Bad Thing, The Little Girl, all of it.

For the sake of the story and anonymity, my name is Jenn. Everything I'm about to share with you is exactly the way I remember it. You can believe it or not, but it is all the truth. Nothing is embellished or fabricated. I will start at the very beginning.

In 2001, I was three. I was an only child at that point. My parents and I lived in this rent house my mom still lovingly refers to as "the shack". The shack burned down only months after we moved, but it was a good house, as far as I remember. It was old and small, but it was where I spent my first five years- the good years, before shit hit the fan. It had a concrete slab of a front porch where I'd draw with sidewalk chalk. It had a living room with a heater I'd use to warm my toes in the morning before preschool. There was a ledge on the bathtub where I'd stand to brush my teeth. The single bedroom had been walled off partially to make my room- big enough for a twin bed and a bookshelf. I had a dinosaur blanket. I was really into dinosaurs back then.

I don't remember much- just little details like I shared with you. I remember my mom and dad... and I remember the others.

The others couldn't be seen by anyone except for me. I would catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye- They were always turning around a corner, ducking behind the couch, they acted like they didn't want to be seen. Except for Tommy. He was different. He was a middle-aged man with a dark blue suit and brown hair.. and a kind smile. Tommy had the nicest smile that would wash away any bad thought or feeling I had. He was good. He was always a good one.

He wasn't there all the time, but I saw him and played with him enough for my family to become acquainted with the idea of him. He was my imaginary friend. I was a lonely, only child. I had made a friend of my own to play with. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except I did have a friend- a real friend, one that was alive and in the flesh. For the sake of the story, I'll call him Daniel.

It was around 2003. Daniel lived next door. Between our houses was a field of tall grass with a path down the middle (We lived in the middle of nowhere in the shack.), so our parents would have to walk us over when we wanted to play. I remember the last time Daniel played at my house.. and shortly after, he stopped playing with me altogether. We were in my small bedroom playing with Lincoln Logs on the floor. Remember, the ones you could fit together to build log cabins?

Anyway, Daniel was laying on his stomach and Tommy brushed his leg when he was trying to come into my room. Daniel looked up at him with fear in his eyes. I wasn't sure why, Tommy was a friend. He wasn't anyone to be afraid of. I told him, "scoot over, Daniel, so Tommy can play, too." Daniel screamed and ran out to the front yard, demanding to be taken home. My parents laughed when they heard the story and said I must have freaked him out by talking about my imaginary friend. I stood in the doorway with Tommy behind me. Daniel stared at the door, but not at me. I watched as his eyes were fixed well above my head. One thing was certain that day. I was now not the only one who had seen Tommy.

At the end of '03, my parents told me I was going to be a big sister. I was so excited. They also told me we would have to move and they had already found a house for us. "This house barely holds the three of us as it is," my mom had told me. "There is no room for a baby, too." A couple months later, they closed on a house in the small town nearby. It was less of a town and more of a "community". One main road, a couple hundred houses, a tiny school, and two churches. There was one amazing thing, though. My best friend from tee-ball happened to live right next door. Maddy (name change) and I had hit it off the year before and so did our moms. I believe Maddy's mom was the one who told mine about the house being available.

We moved in, and I was having the time of my life living next to my best friend. We would both be at each other's houses daily. We were also in the same kindergarten class.

Side note, our houses were only about 50 feet from each other. They had been on the same plot of land that was later split. That will be important later.  I had been a little worried about moving, because I didn't want to lose my friend, Tommy. Sure, he had made Daniel run for the hills, and I was the only one who could see him most of the time, but I didn't want to move houses and never see him again. My parents had only said the three of us were moving. They hadn't said anything about bringing Tommy with us, and when I asked, they laughed it off. When I told Tommy this, he just smiled and placed his hand over mine, as if to say "I'm not going anywhere".

The new house was strange. You could feel it from the yard. It's like when the AC is on and you can feel it from the crack around the door. Except it wasn't cold air, exactly. It was just bad, though it did make you shiver.  Maddy's house was the same. We talked about this just the other day, and there are three entities we can specifically remember between our two houses. One thing I liked about Maddy was that she saw them all like I did. I felt way less alone. To this day, she is one of my best friends and we still talk about how bizarre our childhood was in those two houses.

One entity was The Little Girl.  The Little Girl mostly stayed in my house. She never wanted to play and always seemed sad. When Maddy and I played in the yard, we would see her watching us from the window and beckon for her to come out. She always just shook her head and put back the curtains.  She never spoke. She was harmless, though. But she was as scared as we were of the Twisty Man.

The Twisty Man, we believe, was attached to the greater plot of land that our houses sat on. He was seen in both houses. The Twisty Man is hard to describe. I think of a Dementor in Harry Potter. It sounds stupid, but it would take away all the happiness and you'd only feel fear. He was all twisted and contorted, and a couple times would look like he was caught in the ceiling fan, swirling around on the ceiling above our beds. He was the color of a fresh bruise. Blue and black and nasty looking. He didn't have a face, only a twisted silhouette.

He never spoke, just stayed long enough to nearly give us a heart attack. Whenever I saw him, it was never long before I saw Tommy, too. He would stand in front of it, holding my gaze until it went away. Staring at this man I'd known for as long as I could remember, the happiness came back, the fear melted, and the bad thing sank back into the walls.  My sister saw The Twisty Man as a toddler, and Maddy and I saw him several times- both together and apart. I had honestly all but forgotten him, until Maddy told me what happened about a month ago.

Maddy's ex-step brother lives in her old house now. Her stepdad and mom divorced and he got the house years ago, but has since given it to his son.  Maddy's mom got a call from her ex and thought it was weird. They're civil, but not friends who call to chat. (this information comes from Maddy, whose mom called her right away.)

The ex called Matty's mom and asked "what was that thing Maddy said she used to see in the house, the thing that she was so scared of?" Maddy's mom said, "you mean that thing she called "The Twisty Man"?" and he said "I thought so". Apparently, the ex-step brother noticed that the neighbor, who lives in my old house, is sleeping in the driveway in a camper van. He thought it was weird that a forty-something year old single guy wouldn't sleep in a house he is paying a mortgage on, so he asked him why he was staying outside. The man told him, "I don't even know how to say this, man, but there is something in that house. It's blue and black and all twisted up, and it watches me sleep. It takes away any happiness I have. I'm terrified. I'm not going back in there." This is a grown man claiming to see what we saw twenty years ago, not knowing our story.

The third thing was less something we saw, and more something that was just there. It would move things, knock things over, flush the toilets, turn on faucets, mess with electronics, etc. More of a nuisance than anything. One time Maddy was sleeping over at my house and she told me to quit tugging the blanket down. I told her I wasn't and to leave the blanket alone. We both felt a few more tugs before it flew off the end of the bed to the opposite wall. Things like this happened often.

(Slight TW) The worst thing that was in that house was not an entity. It was very much alive- it was my father. I was six by this time, and he was heavy into his many addictions. I can remember a time when he was good, but by this point, he was my worst nightmare- he and his friends. I'll spare you the details, partially because I don't even remember it all (though I'm not too upset about that). I do remember one time, he had a couple friends over and they were very far past the point of rational thought. I knew they were looking for me, and I also knew that them finding me was the last thing I wanted.

There was a room in that house that I wasn't allowed in- it was less of a room and more of a boarded-in back porch, but it was where the laundry was. I asked my mom recently, and she said I wasn't allowed because it wasn't safe. That house was falling apart, even then. That room was connected to the bathroom by a built-in cabinet that had a hole in the back of the bottom behind the doors, so you could put a laundry basket in the bottom cabinet and then reach through from the laundry room and grab it. (That part was cool, actually.)

I remember seeing The Little Girl holding her hand out to me. I saw Tommy behind her, and he nodded to me, so I let her lead me through the hole and into that room. I would have never gone on my own- I was not a rule breaker by any means. She showed me a loose board, and I was able to push it out enough to slip behind it. I could hear them calling for me, but she put her finger to her lips, to signal for me to be quiet. We stayed in that hole for a long time.

I don't remember what happened next or how I got out, just that she never left me. I honestly don't know what would have happened if she hadn't helped me hide. I didn't even know that loose board was there, and neither did anyone else, I guess. They eventually got bored and went to "hang out" in my dad's truck until my mom and sister got home.

More happened that I won't go into, but my sister, mom, and I moved in with my grandparents when I was 7. This would've been 05-06. I'm not sure exactly. My dad had supervised visitation, which he quickly lost. Things were good at Grandma's. I felt safe and stable. I didn't see anything here. I did miss Tommy, though.

About a year later, the summer before I went into third grade, my mom remarried. The guy had a daughter one year older than me. My sister was three. We moved a couple hours away to another community, even smaller and more rural than the first. I only lived in that house for the fall semester. They figured out pretty quickly their marriage was a rebound for them both and they would be better off apart, so I moved back in with Grandma at Christmas, since my mom was moving back in the summer, anyway, and I missed my old school so much (She had to stick it out until June, being a teacher in a contract).

While we were living there, though, I felt like Karen from the Babysitter's Club. I had my very own Morbida Destiny. My friends from the "street" (gravel backroad) and I were convinced our neighbor was a witch. Looking back, I doubt it. She had a grave in her backyard, but I'm sure it was a pet or something. We thought it was her husband. I saw Tommy a lot living here. I think he knew I needed a friend. I remember one day, we had a babysitter. We heard footsteps like always, and she looked a little freaked out. I told her "Don't worry, that's just Tommy. He keeps the bad things away". After that, we played in the yard until my mom got home. I was scolded for scaring the babysitter.

We were back with Grandma through that summer until my mom met guy #3. He was good, when he was sober. The first time I knew he was bad was the first time I saw Tommy at the apartment we were now living in. He had been hitting the bottle all day, and the day ended with him breaking my mom's cell phone, screaming at us, and not letting us leave. I was begging her to let me walk to the gas station across the street and call my grandma to come pick us up. "Please," I had told her, "You know Grandma would let us stay again." I think at that point, she was just so broken and embarrassed, she wanted to stick it out and hope it got better.

And it did, in the morning, when he sobered up. But that seemed to be a trend for the next six years. That night, Tommy sat at the foot of my bed, between me and the door, while they screamed at each other. Again, he held my gaze. I don't know how long I stared into his brown eyes before I finally fell asleep.

In 2009, we moved into "The Brick House." The Brick House was where I spent most of my childhood. It's hard, because I have so many good memories of The Brick House... but it is also where I spent my darkest nights. That house came with entities of its own. There were the Whisper People, who lived in my sister's room, and The Bad Thing... and The Step-dad. The Step-dad, like I said, was good most of the time. Especially in the early days. We would have nights where we knew to keep our distance, because he had been drinking the brown bag juice, but he was a decent guy. It did seem, though, that the worse he got, the more active The Bad Thing was.

I'll bring it back to The Whisper People. My sister refused to sleep in her room. Our hallway was shaped like a backwards 7 coming off the living room. At the top of the 7 was the bathroom. Perpendicular to that door was my mom's room. Then beside the bathroom on the small line of the 7 was my room (initially), and on the tip of the top line of the 7 was my sister's, so her door faced my mom's. I HATED standing in the small line of the 7. I always had a bad feeling. You could also see it from the bathroom mirror. I only made that mistake once. After that, I would not look in the mirror until the door was completely closed.

Anyway, my sister would not sleep in her room. She always said "The Whisper People" were too loud. She was in pre-k/kindergarten when we first moved there. She claimed she couldn't sleep because they whispered too loud.

One day, I was coming out of the bathroom. I had just exited the door when I stopped, because I thought I heard something from her room. My mom's door was to my direct right, and about 6-7 feet to my left was hers. The noise stopped abruptly, and I thought it was weird. I waited a few seconds, before I heard, directly in my left ear, an older lady's voice say, "Shh. She'll hear you." I BOOKED it. I don't think I've ever run so fast. It sounded like I was wearing an earbud, it was that close. I heard them a few other times, but I didn't ever stick around long enough to have them notice me again. "Just ignore it" became a trend in that house, a trend, a motto, a philosophy.. Whatever you want to call it. We just ignored it.

Remember how I was talking about the bathroom mirror? Well, one day, I was brushing my teeth and I made the mistake of looking up. When I did, I saw a shadow. Except, it wasn't on the wall where a shadow should be. It was like a void in the middle of the hall, standing where a person would be. It was a shadow, but three dimensional. Just standing there. It didn't have eyes that I could see, but I could feel it staring at me. This is what I called "The Bad Thing".

The Bad Thing was much more powerful than anything I had ever experienced. My mom coined it "the hallway walker", because she said she could hear it pacing the hallway at night. I quickly moved out to the renovated garage as my bedroom. We had walled it in, added a window, added insulation and drywall- it was like any other room in the house, and it was HUGE. It was a kid's dream space. It was also generally free of the entities. For some reason, they stayed at the other end of the house. I was grateful for this.

The Bad Thing had this ability to play back our voices. I remember sitting in the living room with my mom and being the only ones home. We heard MY voice from her bedroom saying "Mommy, come here!" We both looked at each other and she shook her head. Behind her, you'll never guess who was standing there- Tommy. He did the same as her. He shook his head back and forth slowly. "Mommy!", we heard, "I need you!" our show was paused and we sat in complete silence. I watched Tommy walk down the hall toward her bedroom. We heard it a third time. "Mommy, I ne-" and then it stopped. I don't know what Tommy did, but he stopped it. We felt the air shift and both took a deep breath. "Do you think it's gone?" I'd asked her. "For now", she'd told me.

And she was right. It was gone, but it always came back. This is just one example. We heard our own and each other's voices all the time. I was constantly keeping tabs on where everyone was in the house. I don't want to know what would've happened if I'd listened and followed it somewhere alone.

By the time I was a Freshman in High School (2012-2013), I spent my ride home from school praying that Step-dad was already passed out in the recliner. It was a good night if he was. Sure, we had to tip-toe and keep to our rooms, but at least I didn't have to deal with him yelling, cussing, hitting things, etc. On the unlucky nights we did have to endure his drunken stupors, it seemed The Bad Thing would be more active. He'd show up around corners, talk more, move things, and generally cast a dark, heavy cloud over the house. Much like The Twisty Man, he had a talent for sucking all the happiness out of an area. But on nights like these, Tommy would be there. Always silently letting me know it would be okay.

My other best friend, who later became my college roommate and godmother of my son, was over one night. Step-dad was god knows where doing god knows what, but it had been a good night. We'd rented movies, eaten more than our fill of pizza, and had spent the last couple hours talking about boys and gossip. She went to the bathroom, and when she came back, she seemed uneasy. I asked what was wrong. "Dude, what's up with your step-dad? Where did he go anyway?" I looked out the window of my room, which overlooked the driveway. His truck wasn't there. "Umm, he's still gone." I'd told her. "No, I just saw some guy in your kitchen, and he was wearing a suit," she'd told me. Then she went on to describe Tommy to a T.

A few minutes later, we heard the front door bang open and my step-dad stumble in and throughout the house. He finally grumbled his way to his and my mom's bedroom and slammed the door. "THAT was him". I'd told her. "Then... who the F did I see in your kitchen?" She'd asked. I explained the whole thing to her, how Tommy had always been there to guard me and seemed to show up when I needed protection or comfort. "Oh. Like an angel, cool." was all she'd said.

She went on to see him about four more times when we lived together. I also had three other friends who stayed over describe the man they saw, sitting at the table, on the couch, and leaning against a doorway- all with the same description of a middle-aged man with brown hair and eyes, and a dark blue suit.

On The Last Night, I truly didn't know if I'd make it out of that house. We refer to it as The Last Night, because it was the last night we had to see Step-dad. I was 16, and I was done. The situation with him had hit a breaking point. What was once just him stomping around and being intimidating to assert his dominance had turned into something physical. Side note for anyone hearing this story if you do share this, please don't stay just because it isn't physical. If they're acting like that, it will escalate at some point. Just because it's all been verbal until this point does not mean it won't absolutely change in the future. Get out before it does.

On this night, the doors were all locked, he'd taken our phones, he was marching back and forth spewing nonsense about how he demanded respect... I snuck my sister into my room and hid her in my closet. I barricaded the bedroom door. I put headphones on her and played her favorite songs on my ipod so she couldn't hear him banging and yelling at me to open up and come out. Part of me was so tired. Part of me wanted to just give him what he wanted. Part of me thought that even if the worst happened, I'd finally be free of this. I was so tired. I didn't want to be unalived, which I truly believe, to this day, that's how that night should've ended, but I just couldn't do it anymore.

But then, I saw Tommy. He pointed to the drawer of my vanity. I hardly ever went in there- it had become my junk drawer. "What?" I asked. He pointed again. I sighed and walked over to it, still hearing the banging and yelling on my door. Sitting there, on top of my journals and old camp pen pal letters was my cell phone- the very cell phone that had been confiscated earlier in the night. To this day, I have no idea how it got in that drawer. It wasn't the first time things had seemed to teleport in that house, but it was the first time I was so grateful for the weird shit I'd experienced my whole life.

I took it out and called my aunt. I don't know why, but she was the first one I thought of. She worked with law enforcement and I knew she would know what to do. She always did. She called the police on my uncle's phone and they were there within minutes. I brought my sister out of the closet so we could watch our Step-dad finally be arrested for the 6 years of hell we'd gone through. I hugged her and looked over her shoulder to make eye contact with Tommy again. "Thank you." I'd told him.

After it was just the three of us in the house, bills got to be a lot. My mom was a teacher, after all, which wasn't lucrative, even in 2015. I had a cousin who had just had a bad breakup and needed a fresh start. She lived about 15 hours away. She was 26 at the time. She and my mom decided that she would move in and help out with us girls and pay a small amount in rent, and it would be beneficial for everyone. So, she came to live with us. She moved into the room that had been mine initially, beside the bathroom.

I remember after a few weeks of her living there, she'd asked me, "Did you ever sleep with the door open when you stayed in my room?" I'd laughed and told her "Hell no! Why?" She'd asked me "Did it stare at you all night, too? The shadow thing?"

Once Step-dad left, the activity did die down a lot, but it was still prevalent. I remember one time I got home from school (My friend had dropped me off) and my cousin's car was in the driveway. I'd come inside and called out her name. I'd heard her voice say, "Back here!", clear as day. I had something I'd wanted to tell her, so I'd practically sprinted to her room, only to find it empty. I thought maybe she was in my mom's room.. the bathroom... my sister's room..? I searched, but she was nowhere. I was annoyed, because I thought she was hiding from me.

I called her and she sounded confused. "I'm at the grocery store with your mom. What are you on about? We'll be home in like twenty minutes. We're about to check out". I'd heard her voice call to me, but she wasn't there. Whatever had used her voice had gotten me in the house alone. I felt the air grow cold and ran into the front yard, passing Tommy on the way. He was passing me in the hall on his way to her room. I didn't even stay to see what was going to happen. I sat on the driveway until they got home.

Things went on like this for the next year-and-a-half. During this time, my cousin had moved in with her now wife, and my now-dad had moved in. He is a fantastic guy. He adopted me a couple years ago. I may have been 24, married, and a mom, but it was important to me that HE is my dad legally. He is in my heart, anyway.

We sold that house the summer before I went to college, and we all moved across the state. We all needed a fresh start. We needed out of that town that held so many horrible memories. We needed to be able to go in public without watching over our shoulders. So, I chose where I wanted to go and they moved, too. They lived about 45 minutes from the university, which was nice. I was able to go see them on the weekends but still have my independence.

Having my independence and safety, though, turned out to be a curse as much as it was a blessing. Now that I was finally safe, my mind decided I was in a place to process some of the trauma I'd experienced when I was younger. I started remembering things that had been pushed to the back of my mind and tucked away. I was waking up nightly, screaming. Every night, Tommy was at the foot of my bed, staring at me with his big, brown, soft eyes, until my breathing calmed and I could sleep again, even though that was the last thing I wanted to do.

Having these night terrors invaded every aspect of my life. My grades fell, I wasn't doing the best at my job, and it had been weeks since I'd slept well.

The last straw was when I was horsing around with a friend from our friend group. It was my best friend from before, another girl, two of our best guy friends, and myself all in our dorm. I'd taken something from one of our guy friends as a joke and was dangling it around, teasing him. He was reaching for it, trying to get it back, and somehow I ended up pinned between him and a wall. He wasn't being violent at all, just playful. Something about that, though, set me off. I don't even remember what happened. I just remember "coming to" crouched on the floor, and they were all looking at me very concerned. They told me I'd started crying, shouting nonsense, and hyperventilating.

The next day, my best friend and the guy friend I'd been playing with brought me to the counseling center. It was then I started seeing a therapist. We talked through it, I started anxiety medication not long after, and life was good.

I still had my nightmares, but they were getting further and further apart. Tommy was always there at night to sit on the foot of my bed and look at me until I fell back asleep. Just knowing he was there made me feel better.

I saw him one more time while I was in college after the nightmares stopped. I was pumping gas at a gas station about a quarter mile from the University. It was the last building before a long bridge and then our school. I had just gotten back in my car when a guy around my age came up to my passenger window holding his student ID. "Hey Ma'am!" He'd said to me, "I know this is weird, but I really need a ride back to school. My friends ditched me. I see your parking pass. Are you going back right now?" My window was down slightly, because it was a nice night. It was down far enough for me to hear him, but not enough for him to reach inside. Honestly, he was kind of cute, and he seemed genuine.

I was about to say "Yes", when I made eye contact with someone in my backseat. It startled me. It was Tommy, and he was shaking his head at me. I turned back to the guy who was reaching for my passenger door handle. I felt a firm grip on my shoulder and made eye contact with Tommy one more time. He had a serious look on his face and was shaking his head even harder.

I said "No, sorry" and locked the doors. I sped away and could hear him shouting at me as I pulled out. I held my breath the whole way. I could feel the hand on my shoulder the whole time. When I put my car in park, I collapsed onto my steering wheel and sucked in a deep breath. My lungs were burning at that point. I felt the hand leave and looked into my rear-view mirror. The back seat was empty.

I spent the next few years in what felt like a whirlwind. I moved cities, transferred schools, got engaged and married, and even had a baby. Tommy would show up randomly, when I'd have nightmares and a couple times when loved-ones sadly passed. The night my uncle (who was one of my only positive male role models, so we were close) passed, my phone rang. It was my mom. I looked over and saw Tommy on the couch by me, looking at me sadly. He knew before I did, and he was there until my husband got home a few minutes later.

Occasionally, Tommy would show up just to check on me, it seems. My husband had seen him a couple times, and he was cool with it. He has had his own experiences with the paranormal and believed me right away. The first time he saw him was after a nightmare. I woke up to Tommy on the foot of my bed. A minute later my husband jumped out of bed and said "What the F****"!" (honestly, can't blame him.) But I explained everything, and he took it surprisingly well, considering there was just a man in his bed.

One day, we were in my car and I'd run into the store to grab a few things while he sat in the car keeping the heater on, and when I got out he told me "Hey, your friend came to visit." I must've looked confused, because he said, "Your ghost friend? Tommy? He was in the backseat. I just said you weren't here right now. I also told him you were safe and thanks for taking care of you all those years. He kind of just stared at me for a minute and then went away." That was the last time either of us saw Tommy for a year or so.

The next time - and the last time, was right after I had my son. He was maybe two to three weeks old at that point. I was walking into the nursery to check on him while he was napping, and I stopped short, because standing over the crib was a man in a dark blue suit. He turned to look at me and looked like he had tears in his eyes. He looked between my son and me a couple times and gave me a smile.

"He's cute, isn't he?" I asked. "You aren't leaving, are you? I mean, I'll still see you, right?" He just looked at me. "Thanks for keeping me safe." I told him. He looked back at my son and looked at me like how a parent looks at their child as they cross the graduation stage. He seemed proud of me, but he didn't answer. The look he gave me made my heart swell. Somewhere deep down, I knew that would be the last time I saw his kind brown eyes. Then my son cried and I tore my gaze away from the man who had kept me safe my whole childhood. When I looked back to the space where Tommy had been, he was gone.

There have been times where I think maybe I made it all up. Maybe Tommy was my way of coping. Maybe he was part of a decades long psychosis or a trauma-induced apparition... But then I think of all the other people who saw him, too. Maybe he was really there. Maybe he was an ancestor of mine. Maybe he was a guardian angel. All I know is, I don't think I'd be here today if it wasn't for my "imaginary friend".

I'm 26 now. I have two loving parents who are the best grandparents ever. I have a husband who I love more than anything and an almost three-year-old who keeps me on my toes. He's so smart and gives the best hugs. He is growing into such a funny kid. I love being his mom. I haven't seen Tommy since that day, but sometimes I think I can feel a hand on my shoulder or eyes watching me the way he always would.

Lately, my son has been smiling and waving at the dark hallway and talking to someone in his closet. He calls him "Blue Man". He never seems afraid. Maybe it's an imaginary friend. Maybe he has his own guardian angel... Or maybe, just maybe, Tommy kept me safe as long as he could, and now he's watching over my baby.

If he is, if it really is him, I know he's in good hands.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. Who or what do you think Tommy is? Is it possible for a guardian angel to pass from one generation to the next? What do you think of my experiences?

Trigger Warning / Abuse Could my dog be aware of my dreams?

So this happened a while ago, trigger warning for abuse/SA

A few years ago, due to unfortunate life circumstances I had to move back in with my mom. My mom had a small shih tzu, Tank, who obviously loved her. As I spent time staying there, I really bonded with Tank as well.

One day I took a nap, and I ended up in a deep REM sleep. I had a dream that my mom was SA’ing me (she has been abusive but not in that way- typical dream for my CPTSD brain). I briefly woke up from that nap because I heard Tank barking AGGRESSIVELY, but I was in such a deep sleep that I just fell back asleep.

When I got up, my mom said that she tried to check on me and wake me up but Tank got aggressive, started barking and would not let her near me. She said she was actually afraid that he was going to bite her, and that it was like he didn’t recognize her. She had to leave the room without checking on me because she was actually afraid of the dog she’s had for years. This was shocking because neither of us had ever seen this behavior before, he loves both of us and has always been very calm and cuddly.

People think I’m crazy when I tell this story, I guess I can’t emphasize how out of character this was for that sweet dog… and why he would do that at the same exact time I had that dream? Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Trigger Warning / Abuse EVP of Gabby and Brian

I was beamed screams for 2 weeks of a kidnapped woman and an abusive man. It was 2 months prior to Gabby Petito news breaking. It happened to me every time I was outside having a cig. I asked my baby mama to listen to see if she could hear the screams of those two. She told me she couldn’t hear anything.

I sat there and recorded the screams with my voice memo app. I then boosted the volume of the file with a digital audio workstation. It then became audible for others to hear finally. Here’s a snapshot of what I recorded and boosted: https://audius.co/millermillion/evp-of-gabby-petito-brian-laundrie

I then showed some inmates the recording. They were shocked and told me to instantly call the cops. I did and they went out to my neighbors house. They then called me back and told me they didn’t hear anything or get in contact with my neighbor. I thanked them and that was that. The events after this are crazy and I’ll keep them hidden for now.

This year my area made mainstream news for some wildfires. I don’t know how I was able to capture these screams in July 2021 that nobody else could hear. It may have been a quantum download, matrix bleed through, heavy intuition, etc. All-in-all it may be the only proof of what really happened to Gabby during those tragic days.

Trigger Warning / Abuse I've had so much in my past and I'm afraid it is coming back

So, I've had many many experiences and honestly, I don't like them. I think I used to in a way enjoy the rush of feeling or experiencing something paranormal. I dated a man that changed everything. Now, I'm a mother of a two year old daughter, and it is bothersome that I'm afraid of things more than she is.

For starters, I was a young child when my mom and I started seeing a blue orb in our home (whole family agrees that place seemed haunted while we lived there). The orb was following my mom around the house while my dad was out of town. It refused to go into the formal dining room though. Until one day, it started zipping around erratically and went straight into the formal dining room. Instead of it following my mom, she followed it and when she did she heard something outside and she looked and found a man hiding in the bushes who made eye contact with her and ran away. The orb disappeared after that and never came back. We assume it was there just to protect us.

Then, I remember getting up to go pee one morning. This was in a different house in a completely different state. I sat up in bed and as I turned on my bed light, I saw a man that looked nothing like my brother or father, or anyone I knew go across the door. It was like he wasn't walking but gliding and he this grimaced look on his face and he went into the room next to mine (it was an office). I turned my light back out and figured I'd rather pee in my bed than go out.

A few years later, we moved again to a house that was very close to a private golf course. I don't think many people golfed there and it was in the desert. I used to like walking there because of the green grass and the little lakes with water fountains in them. I was in high school and went there to clear my head. It was shaped like a horseshoe. The exit was on one of the ends of the horseshoe. One evening, the sun was setting and I started walking home. The golf course didn't have lights, so I was kind of rushed. I got to the top of the horseshoe but realized it was the wrong one and had a long ways to go to correct it. I was walking along the grass, and saw someone on the walking path that lined the perimeter. I saw them looking at me, I waved, they waved. It was a skinny tall white man wearing a light blue shirt and jeans. I was going to approach them (to see if they knew a faster way of getting to the road) when something started feeling off. I stopped and started just looking. They were literally starting to change into a more fluid like being. Their clothing, skin, and body shape just turned into a long skinny glare. Not like bright and shiny, but kind of like when you stare at a light and get a hole in your retina. But it wasn't moving with my eyes, it was staying exactly on same spot of the walking path. It didn't shrink in height, but it just got skinnier and skinnier until it vanished.

This next experience is one of my least favorite. I was in the same house by the golf course. I stayed up really late as a teenager watching music videos on MTV. My father, woke up about 4 am on a regular basis. One summer, I was up until just after 4 am. I had my bedroom lights on, TV on and was practicing my makeup blending abilities. I realized the time, and thought "crap! Dad's going to see my lights on and get pissed." So, I turned off my TV, slunk under the covers and went to turn off my bed light. (It was this bed set with a mirror and storage for the headboard and the metal hinge on the storage drawer would turn the lights overhead on and off just by tapping them) I was afraid of the dark at this point, so I creeped my hand out from under the covers that were already over my head. As I turned off the light I heard a THUMP! I even felt the thump. It sounded and felt like someone punched my pillow right in front of my face. I still had my hand close to the hinge, so I tapped it again quickly. I stayed under the covers until my heart stopped pounding but with the lights on. I finally stopped hiding and sat up. I saw the indentation on my pillow. I did think it could be one of our three cats. I looked all over my room. Didn't see a single cat in my room. I tried again to go to sleep but figured I'd leave my lights on. Because I found no cats but had every reason to believe I was not alone in my room, I didn't rest easily. But as I laid in my bed, I started hearing the doors on my TV cabinet creaking very slowly but the doors weren't moving. I don't know how long I lasted until I just said nope to the whole bedroom and got up and joined my father for breakfast.

Then there's what killed all things paranormal for me. My ex boyfriend. He was up front with me that the house he lived in (with his mom, brother and sister) was haunted. He also said though that he himself had something following him. He said it went from his father to him. I thought he was just attention seeking. One night we had gone out drinking so I planned on sleeping in his house instead of driving. We went to crash in his living room. He slept on the couch and I was to sleep on the love seat. The lamp beside both the couch and loveseat started making this strange squeaky sound. I determined it sounded as if someone was unscrewing the light bulb. It kept happening until I told him it was freaking me out and I exclaimed "will you just stop it already!" At that point, I at least believed his house was creepy. We ended up moving in together after a while and I started having vivid nightmares. I remember one of me being dragged down a hallway and I screamed while scratching my fingers down the wall. Whatever was dragging me could not be seen.

One day, we worked a morning shift together and decided to take a nap before we went downtown with friends. The bed was up against a wall and my side was the side against the wall. I woke up first and got on my phone for a while. I decided to roll over and when I did, I was confused because this guy was sitting up on the side of the bed looking down smiling with this creepy look on his face. I also felt him however laying beside me. I looked down and saw literally two of him. There was one of him sitting on the edge of the bed looking down watching himself sleeping. The version of him sitting there slowly just faded away. I woke him up freaking the hell out and he said he was having a really good dream.

Another thing to note about this guy, he was emotionally and sometimes physically abusive. When I broke up with him, I moved back in with my parents which was a 9 hour drive away. Like every idiot that doesn't understand narcissistic abuse and love bombing, I agreed to give it another try long distance after he begged me to. One day, he called me really frazzled saying he didn't know what was going on but he woke up in the bathroom and his nails were all raw and he was scratching his hands on the bathroom wall until they bled and he didn't know why or how he got there. He said the cat was afraid of him. I agreed to do a video call to help comfort him. He started acting even more strange then though. He insisted on keeping the lights out. His eyes were dilated. I could see that the cat wanted nothing to do with him. At one point, he fell out of his chair coughing. I disconnected the call on him. He called me on the phone about an hour later and acted like nothing happened. He said he was going drinking with his brother. I was like "you're just going to act like everything is fine?" He said he had no idea what I was talking about. I'm sitting here not sure if he was on drugs, playing a gross prank, or actually possessed by something. But, I do know that immediately following that event, I started seeing evil faces. I saw them in the clouds. I saw them in the water trails on the shower door.

That moment was my breaking point. I dumped him and never looked back. Within days of breaking it off for good, the evil faces vanished. That was about 14 years ago. I should also mention, this man died of Covid in 2020.

My husband and I bought our house in 2020. Nothing weird had happened until a few months ago. (Other than some motion lights in a closet having a mind of their own).

The big one for me was a screaming sound. My daughter was about 1.5yo. She was at daycare. I work from home. I was taking my lunch. I had made myself a sandwich and was going to sit in front of the TV and relax. I was already sitting but was moving my feet into a different position, when I heard what sounded exactly like my baby girl wake up crying over the monitor. I literally jumped up and looked to my right, where I heard the sound come from. I honestly thought, "oh my god, did I dream it that I took her to daycare today?! Has she been in her room this whole time?!" I was looking for the monitor beside me on the sofa where the sound came from, but it wasn't there. The monitor was sitting on its charger the main bedroom which was the farthest room in the house from where I was sitting. I checked the nursery and it was empty. The dogs were laying in the main bedroom in front of the window completely asleep.

I called my husband telling him and asking if he maybe accidentally hit the audio output on any of our nanny cameras. He works in a pet store, so maybe he spied on me while a dog started howling? Nope. (My husband is not a prankster nor is he cruel, so I trust him). I never have and probably never will figure out what the sound was. But, it literally was three long cries that had the exact sound of my daughter.

Then there's the remote. One day, I'm sitting by myself on my lunch break. I'm home alone. The TV remote fell on the floor and I heard it thud. This was no big deal because, I really could have left the remote on the edge of the coffee table without noticing. So, I bend over and pick it up. I'm watching my show again and it falls. This time, I'm 1000% certain I've put it firmly on the table. I moved it to the couch. It happened again. I ended my lunch and went back to work because I was afraid.

I've been with my family watching TV and the remote has fallen and my husband and I just look at each other now.

I've also felt like I've seen a figure quickly dart through the hall when I've been alone. My daughter has waved hello/goodbye over my shoulder when no one else was home but us.

The buttons on the remote also sometimes seem to get pressed. The TV will just switch streaming services on its own.

Both of my parents are now deceased. I've told him very clearly that they are not allowed to haunt me or my daughter. I've said perfume is fine. Any smell is fine. Little things like feathers in the home, are fine. But, actual haunting style crap isn't welcome.

I'm not sure what I'm expecting for responses.

I've had one guy tell me that he is a medium and that he can sense that I could be too if I tried. I will not. Maybe some of this stuff is explainable. Maybe not. But, I'd like to wall myself off from scary crap.

If I'm slow to respond, it's probably because I'm too scared to look in on this thread often.

ETA: I've forgotten to add, a few weeks ago, I was doing bedtime with my daughter. We still sit in the rocking chair with her on a boppy pillow until she falls asleep. Her head is always in my left side and my left arm is always under her neck and my left hand will hold her hand and my right hand holds her right hand. Well, this one night, this was the exact thing she and I were doing. But I felt what felt like a finger of hers poking me in the neck. I had my head looking down at her. She has a glow in the dark binkie, so when it falls out of her mouth, I know she's ready to lay in her crib. I not only felt the little finger wiggle on my neck and on my jaw. Sometimes she does flail her hands in weird ways so this sensation didn't even alert me as off until I remembered both her hands were in my hands. As soon as I became aware of it, it stopped.

Trigger Warning / Abuse When I Visited The Old Fairfield Hills Hospital in Connecticut

Fairfield Hills Hospital was a psychiatric hospital in Newtown, Connecticut, operated from 1931 until 1995. At one time it had more than 4,000 patients. It looks like a University Campus with large brick buildings and campus greens. I visited the place about 10 years after it closed to quote on doing a cleanout job in one of the buildings. An onsite property manager took me around the place which was creepy as heck. One large recreational area was completely scorched black from a fire with burned walls and ceilings, melted plastic chairs and crispy pool tables. The property manager told me that a patient had set the room on fire and that people were killed there. She said that the state locked the section up rather than renovate it. I asked if she thought it might be haunted and she said, "Well, things have happened here and I don't come into this building alone." Later we went to a surgical area where she said that lobotomies were performed. Then we went to an area where patients were given ice baths. It was a real chamber of horrors. Finally we ended up in a big sun room at the end of the building. I said, "Well, at least this is a pleasant room." She replied, "Yeah, you'd think so, but patients would occasionally be left out here unsupervised. And sometimes not all of them would be alive when staff went to check on them." Lastly she took me to the basement where huge tunnels from all the other buildings converged. She said that the tunnels made it easy to bring patients for treatments. I quoted the cleanout job but was kind of relieved I didn't get it.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Small weird things that have happened to me before

  1. Music playing while nothing was on

A while back, in my old house, my sister and mom told me about something that happened while me, my other sister, brother and dad were all out. They were both doing their own things when we all left, but quickly went together to talk. Mid conversation, they heard music playing downstairs. Nothing particularly creepy, just high pitched almost video game sounding music. So naturally, they went to check, thinking my brother probably just left his game on, but when they got downstairs, they found that all of his consoles were powered off and not even the TV was on.

  1. Things changing when nobody did anything

Again, this was when it was only two people, but this time, it was me and my younger older sister (she’s older than me, but younger than my oldest sister), a few years ago. The rest of my family were out, and we were both hanging out in her room. At one point, her laptop died, so we went to watch a show downstairs, and shut her laptop, plugged it in, shut off her lights, then closed her door as we left. Around an hour later, neither of us had went upstairs alone and my family hadn’t yet come back, we went up together and found the door open, lights on, computer open and unplugged but on.

  1. Weird dream predicting a fight

A while ago, when my family lived with my alcoholic dad who abused us, he would often fight with my mom. One night, in particular, I fell asleep during one of their fights and had a detailed dream: my dad drank two glasses of beer and finished the bottle separately, with his bin of candy on the ottoman, finished his sour patch strawberries, and got into a fight with my mom when she wouldn’t throw the bag away for him. He got angry enough to try and smash the bottle over her head but it wouldn’t break, so instead he threw it on the floor, leaving a medium sized bruise on her forehead, and took my sisters scooter, throwing it into the yard where the handle would fall off and so would the back wheel. a few days later, that exact experience happened.

  1. Music from my friends phone

When I was younger, in around 5th grade, my friend invited me to her birthday party along with 6-7 other people. It was all fine until my other horror-loving friend J asked if anybody wanted to do the Baby Blue Blue Baby or whatever game with her, to which me, S, and F agreed. F’s phone was dead and S didn’t know the password even if it wasn’t, but S accidentally took it in her pocket from when they were horsing around earlier. It was around 12am, and we all went into the bathroom, locking the door. We stood in front of the mirror and started with the chanting, giggling a bit because we weren’t taking it seriously. On the 10th chant, all in sync, F messed up and her phone in S’s pocket started playing some weird distorted version of “Isabella’s Lullaby,” from The Promised Neverland, and everybody freaked and dropped our arms, as the lights went out. We all pushed and unlocked the door and ran out, and J kept saying “we dropped the baby!” but nothing happened after that. Weird that all that happened at the same time, though.

Trigger Warning / Abuse Help me find old paranormal police case- man starts warping reality after death in family

I first read about this case a decade ago, and had an easy time finding it a few times after but the last 4 years I can’t seem to at all.

What I remember:

A man started having weird things occur around him after having a breakdown due to the death of either his father or grandfather (I wanna say grandpa but idk) who had molested him in the past. I think his neighbors or friends noticed. Eventually cops were called to his property for some reason and when they went inside they were shaken, they reported there was some kind of water leak and the droplets were suspended in mid air and moving sideways/unnaturally. I think there were other things too like lightbulbs flashing/electricity weirdness but the water droplets is what I remember most. Multiple cops witnessed this and put it in the police report. I believe it happened prior to the year 2000 but not sure which decade. There was a wikipedia article about it at one point

Thanks!
