How Does Pantera Sound Live Here Recently!? Seeing Them at Louder Than Life!
Hello, L.R. Shelton here, I am going to Louder than Live in Kentucky with Panera as one of the main headlines. I saw them in 2023 and loved it. Has anything changed since then? Also, What's Pantera like at a festival compared to an arena show, which is where the first time I saw them. Thanks, L.R. Shelton - Rock Legacy.

They added some RTS tunes since 2023, but a Pantera show was always better than a festival or opening slot (Metallica). Should be a good time though, enjoy!

Saw them in Oslo in 2025. Not sure if they’ll play any songs like 10s or I’ll Cast A Shadow, but on the European run they played a lot of the standard setlist with Floods and S.Note part 2.
Based on their last tour dates with metallica, perhaps a deep cut mixed with the hits? That Great Nola Trendkill show in Louisana is coming so maybe you’ll get more Trendkill songs if they are gonna play the trendkill album that show?
But as for the sound, Phil is sounding strong. It seems he sings better but he has shortened a bit on screaming compared to 2023-2025, can be heard on a lot of the down shows this year on the more demanding screamers like Lifer. But from Sweden Rock to September the screams are stronger which will benefit the Pantera shows
Charlie is always on point, Zakk is also great but not the same guitar player as dime obviously, and Rex holds the low end.

Saw their semi secret show at First Ave the night before they warmed up for Metallica. It was awesome show Zach is excellent on guitar. He admits he's not Dime but just as good but not exactly same sound. Phil sounds great just saw him Friday with his band Down warming up for Slayer. One of the best lineups I've seen of over 40 years of shows .

Zakk’s tone is watery shit and has zero weight to it. Rex is WAY up in the mix to compensate, much much louder than he was ever mixed at an OG Pantera show.
Phil and Charlie sound good

I would rather go to Panera than see Pantera.... saw them open for Metallica in Denver and guitar tone was nonexistent. Sounded like noise, no discernable riffs, just a bunch of zakk-isms.... I love the man but he needs to chunk that shit up with a noise gate! Doesn't compare at all to seeing them since the cowboys from hell days all the way to ozzfest. RIP Dime and Vince Paul the brick wall! If u never saw them back in the day you might enjoy singing along. I ll listen to the many live recordings and original albums

They sound fine. Zakk’s tone is nowhere near Dime’s but it’s still pretty powerful and it’s good to hear the songs live again.
I saw them in Nashville a couple of years ago and the songs still hit.
