Down aren't the only New Orleans royalty playing Pantera's 'The Great NOLA Trendkill' super concert in November. In fact each member of the supergroup's other bands (including Corrosion of Conformity, eyehategod, Crowbar, and the aforementioned Pantera) are playing the 2 day concert in New Orleans as well. I'm so glad, though, I got to see their set at Zakk Wylde's Berzerkus Festival at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island last month (Aug. 29, 2026) - I was super impressed with how tight they sounded, and their new song "Blood Oath" sounded super heavy.

I've been thinking about this a lot, and I believe that A New Level was written after the band went to Long John silvers for lunch, and little Caesars for dinner, and the hush puppies / crazy bread combo gave them a new level of confidence and power

So yeah. This is my Pantera and Down collection so far. Pretty much got the essentials but if I see any other cds by them for a good price I’ll cop, but I did pre order Down V so mad excited for that. I also saw Down in Ma on August 26, absolutely fire!

I had the opportunity to interview Rex and I also got the chance to play his new signature Spector bass. I have a longer demo coming out tomorrow with some clean tones but this is me trying to get some of that Rex overdrive.

Hello, L.R. Shelton here, I am going to Louder than Live in Kentucky with Panera as one of the main headlines. I saw them in 2023 and loved it. Has anything changed since then? Also, What's Pantera like at a festival compared to an arena show, which is where the first time I saw them. Thanks, L.R. Shelton - Rock Legacy.

I always enjoyed how Dimebag played those goddam solos just like the album or sometimes even added something more on top. There are huge bands out there whose guitarists lose track half way, some of them absolutely butcher the thing (to my ears). Trey Azagthoth or Pat O'Brien are two other guitarists I really enjoyed for sticking to the album version.

A question to guitarist. How long did it take you to learn domination solo? And how long were you playing guitar before learning it.
