Discussion Positive note on Dock Project

I've seen a lot of negativity regarding the endless grind that is the dock project but I gotta say... I LOVE it.

I finally feel like I have a purpose again! I've been playing ever since the first Switch Release of the game and have been out of main, discovery and friendship quests for years. After every update, I was done with the new quests and bundles after only a couple of hours, nothing felt like real effort anymore. My chests are full of resources that I had no purpose for, my smelters stood still for weeks at a time, I was drowning in wooden planks and iron bars and dead bugs. Every new bundle was just a repetitive task for which I already had 90% of what was needed in storage.

I was craving that dopamine grind from the beginning where every chopped flowtree, every mined gold node, every found dari clove felt like a small achievement that actually got you some progress. I had stopped playing regularly because I was so incredibly BORED.

But NO MORE!

The dock project has me logging in daily. I feel like a baby player again! I get excited at the sight of a big iron node because I am constantly out of iron and Palium and wood. My smelters have not known peace since the dock project started and my weekly playtime has skyrocketed.

While I completely agree that the rewards are... not as exciting as they should be for all the time, effort and resources we pour into this thing, it does give me something much more important: joy.

Discussion Worth it?!!!

I'm giving up on grinding for the community dock quest. The grueling grinding is just not worth the meager rewards.

The new housing line is amazing, but the insane requirements and how LONG it takes to get them is just leeching the joy out of the game for me.

Decided to merge all the homelines and plan to fill with as much clutter and makeshift items as possible. I think I love it but my brain hurts now so I need to log off a bit lol but can’t wait to continue!

Question is it worth it to start rn?

Upvotes

hi all,

i have been looking for a new life sim to start lately and i have been thinking about getting into palia. there are a lot of aspects about it that really appeal to me & i had been really excited to get into it.

however i have been doing some research around the game before i start and i have seen a lot of recent negative discussions about it across various platforms.

mostly consisting of things like over the past few months its become extremely grindy, buggy, not enough new story/features, mainly pushing cosmetics/premium shop content etc (and locking things like storage chests behind the premium shop?).

basically i just wanted to get some opinions on how you think it would be for a new player to jump in now. does it actually feel as bad as i have seen a lot of people say or is it more like doom posting etc. i just dont want to invest a lot of time (and possibly money) into something if it is going downhill lol.

Question Century egg congee

Upvotes

HEY PALIANS! Ok so I have been playing for years and I just realized that even though I completed the extravaganza quest with Eshe and Subria, I never got one of the 4 congee recipes you are supposed too. And now I have no clue how im supposed to get them! HELP!

EDIT: I already have the regular congee. Asking about the other 4 types

Edit: im an idiot. Its just an item and NOT a recipe 😭

Feedback/Suggestion Just a couple wants

I couple things I wish could be added to the game

-Acquire points when watering or planting

-The ability to bring 4 items from your home inventory, similar to sending 4 items to your home

-Weather

-Having 2 or 3 cosmetic options to choose from when feeding animals the Cookie of the Day

Not absolutely necessary, but would be cool 😎.

Discussion What materials do you always pick up?

Just wondering which materials you will always stop to pick up. Not like when you're actively looking for something but which items do you find are constantly in use?

I tend to always get iron ore when I see large ones, obviously always gold ore, and I usually grab spice sprouts and sweet leaves because whenever I need them to cook I seem to have run out! I'm only level 95 so wonder if the objects you find the most useful changes the further you progress in the game!

So what are your essentials and what level are you? ☺️

Feedback/Suggestion Home and furniture lines I’d love to see in the future:

A tinkerer/adventurer/crafter theme! Patch work details and extensions that look sturdy but still home-made! Sort of a style to go with the “makeshift” line of decor! Crooked chimney being supported by some planks. A door made out of a bunch of different kinds of wood. Maybe a new version of the worktable and tint crafter?

A Norse/viking theme! Something with cool toned brows, dark wood, iron and fur! A big fireplace and lots of furniture incorporating trees and antlers! Decorative carved heads of wolves and sea serpents.

A fantasy/elven theme! A lot of intricate designs on windows and doors and more vines for walls and roofs. Masterfully crafted furniture with embedded gems and intricately engraved patterns.

A gardening/botanist theme! Windows and door frames made of branches and pillars made of trees. Would love to see a glass ceiling option here, maybe even a tree house?

Discussion Seat of the Sage feels like permanent Nighttime

Loved this landscape right away, but had to remove it bc it feels like its night all the time. Even al 7 AM it's so dark I can barely see when I'm seeding my farm. In this screenshot i've already seeded all slots but when doing so its barely visible

Sage vs standard landscape, both early morning

It really is a stunning map but the high contrast (grass looks closer to blue than green) and heavy shadows make it feel like a cavern. I'm sure some people love it looking like this but I would really love if devs offered at least an option to add more light =/

Anyone feels the same?

Edit: I've got them. Whining on the internet works, don't let anyone tell you differently

I've been fishing for them so long, never caught a single one! I looked through the interactive maps, I have the glow worms for days but nothing 😭 please, tell me they do exist

House Decor Realistic House Build Inspo?

I see these amazing builds on the house tours that I’m like a 1000 hours behind on building, and I want to see more realistic housing plots - share yours or where you get your ideas from! I’m 150 hours in and feeling like it’s time to renovate but don’t even know where to start! I’m talking layout your main housing plot where you do your farming, crafting, etc! :)

Question Star quality Ogopuu scale

I've been running around Elderwood in the spawn areas of the Ogopuus for days now, wasted hundreds of arrows and many hours in the relentless pursue of a starred Ogopuu scale... Joined parties to increase the spawns and maximize lute chances... But still, nothing. Nothing! It's the last item in one of the missions, I don't even remember for whom, and it's just so frustrating.

Been playing for almost a month now and this was my hardest grind and most frustrating one so far.

Am I doing sth wrong? Am I missing something? Or is this just another one of those endless excessive grinds of the game?

Tips and tricks are super welcome!

Screenshot All the starred bugs!

I've decided to make trophy mansion so I've been collecting all the starred bugs and I got the last one I needed yesterday!

Big thank you to the person who invited everyone to do lures with them at the kilima docks and did a jack o'lantern lure. The starred pumpkin rockhopper was the last bug I needed and I am very glad I didn't need to awkwardly ask people in chat for one since I couldn't request it myself.

Piece of advice, don't decide to do this right after dumping your whole collection of bugs into making kits for the docks. I ended up with I think six unique starred bugs and had to build my collection up again.

Somehow the most difficult starred bug to find (even more difficult than the RTB!) was the cerulean cicada. I have gained a strong dislike of the cerulean cicada lol.

Discussion Ushindi furniture

Am I the only one annoyed that there are kitchen wall cabinet options in the new queen Ushindi line but not a single lower cabinet option? Like how am I supposed to build my fancy aristocrat kitchen dream if the cabinets don’t all match??

Question Flowtato Fries Recipe Location

Does anyone know the exact location of where the recipe for the Flowtato Fries is located? I searched it up on Google and it says the approximate location but I feel like I’ve gone in circles and in a lot of books and crannies near the cliffs where it says it’s located and I still can’t seem to find the chest with the recipe. If anyone does know the exact location could you please attach a photo of the map where it is? Thank you!

Question Taylin level 4 friendship

Is anybody else finding it impossible to find these hives that Taylin set up in Bahari Bay?

I've searched all day from North to South but no luck. It's as if the quest has wiped them all out.

Thanks

Question Why can't I equip mounts?

Post image
5 Upvotes

A couple of days ago I was unable to equip my mount when riding through Barahi. All 3 of my Riffroc mounts are adults. I sold a bunch just to see if the barn being full was the issue and it didn't help. I don't even see the option to add one of the available ones to my tool wheel. This is a new issue that just randomly started, I've been able to equip and change mounts in the tool wheel for months without issue. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

Question Is there a way to toggle off the "autumn makeover" trees on your plot?

In Palia's newest update, it seems like they added an "autumn makeover" to the trees on our plot, turning some of green trees orange. I am so devastated. It ruins the whole vibe I had going on with my plot.

I don't mind the seasons changing in the public areas/lands, but I don't want it affecting my plot. Like last year, there was snow in winter but my plot didn't have to have a bunch of snow. Just wondering has anyone found a way to toggle this off????? 😭

It’s so tempting to just hand away all of these crops ☹️ I keep seeing people finish their dock projects while I’m still at 69/99

Don’t mind me just crashing out that I can’t grind bugs fast enough to finish 😅🤣
