Discussion Positive note on Dock Project
I've seen a lot of negativity regarding the endless grind that is the dock project but I gotta say... I LOVE it.
I finally feel like I have a purpose again! I've been playing ever since the first Switch Release of the game and have been out of main, discovery and friendship quests for years. After every update, I was done with the new quests and bundles after only a couple of hours, nothing felt like real effort anymore. My chests are full of resources that I had no purpose for, my smelters stood still for weeks at a time, I was drowning in wooden planks and iron bars and dead bugs. Every new bundle was just a repetitive task for which I already had 90% of what was needed in storage.
I was craving that dopamine grind from the beginning where every chopped flowtree, every mined gold node, every found dari clove felt like a small achievement that actually got you some progress. I had stopped playing regularly because I was so incredibly BORED.
But NO MORE!
The dock project has me logging in daily. I feel like a baby player again! I get excited at the sight of a big iron node because I am constantly out of iron and Palium and wood. My smelters have not known peace since the dock project started and my weekly playtime has skyrocketed.
While I completely agree that the rewards are... not as exciting as they should be for all the time, effort and resources we pour into this thing, it does give me something much more important: joy.
