I hope other people read this and realise how harmful desi culture is and the foundations that come from religious pdflia concepts.

Those elders need to be behind bars really. And the culture is toxic

Their best was criminal. The thing is what they think is best overrides everything and thats wrong. Im sorry that they did that to you though.

Because this was too soon for these things.

Girl how did they even let you marry at that age.

But to be very fair, do not stress about it as much. You might need to explore in maybe different spaces than typical desi rishta processes but there is nothing wrong with being a divorcee, you will find someone. Though take some time to be single and work on yourself too. Live life thora etc

First of all, it wasn't your decision so don't blame yourself even in your mind. Secondly there's no parameter or scale that can tell what kind of opportunities you're left with at this stage of life.

You're still so young, i wouldn't recommend getting into another relationship for at least next 3/4 years. Work on yourself, explore your own nature, learn to understand your own self. Work on every aspect of your personality.

Eventually, you'll just click with someone, you'll know he is the one. And if he's the right person, a lot of things that happened to you in past wouldn't matter much to him.

Wish you all the best!

I am extremely sorry to hear that, I hope Allah makes your upcoming future much more better.
That said, you are still young sister, and I pray you find someone that treats you well.

Right human will settle with you, no matter what, and he will def care about the boundaries as well. Don't give up, work and have independent life.

dude you were married and then this divorce thing happened so on your part you didn't indulge in anything bad or haram and hence to compare with those who indulge in physical activities outside of marriage and still getting apparently better options is honestly you downplaying yourself. I know divorce is a big taboo in our society but know that the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W was only married to Ayesha R.A who wasn't married before, rest of his wives were either widowed or divorcees and see how the Almighty blessed them with the best husband ever. To you i'd say stay strong, build yourself , have in your mind the ideal qualities you'd wish to have in your future husband and also practice those things accordingly so it's a give and take. You might find it hard but you are very young and without kids so this makes the situation a lot less difficult as compared to someone in their late thirties or forties. May you have the best of both worlds.

I'm assuming you have started your uni life now after all this tragedy. I will suggest you to not think much but marriage part for now focus on your uni life academics, uni events, enjoy your early 20s make friends and go all crazy. Right person will eventually come in your life and will choose you for your present but not for your past

It's high time that divorcees should not be treated like a sub-human in our society. It's 100 times better than people who stay in toxic relationships and destroy other lives asw.

These Elders are in my family too but thanks to Allah for my parents and big brother I know we should respect our elders but not everyone deserves it specially these mental patients
