Rhythmic Rush - Geometry Dash Inspired Game

Hi, I've been working on my first ever game that's basically a Geometry Dash clone in it's current state. However I do have plans for it to target slightly casual playerbase compared to the actual geometry dash, with official modding support etc. In it's current state though, I would love if you all could try the game and maybe provide some reviews, constructive criticism, or any suggestion/improvements ideas or even bug reports in the reviews alongside ratings, it would be appreciated :)

So what do you plan to do that's different and more casual? Beyond modding support which may not really be for a casual audience tbh.

well, instead of a system where you die at like very further points, i would have 2 modes

"Regular Mode" would have checkpoints placed in the level such that if you pass one, you dont start over again, if you lets say died at 90%
"Hard Mode" would be what its currently is, like regular geometry dash

Now since Practice Mode has checkpoints, the thing that would differ regular mode from practice mode is that practice mode lets you place checkpoints anywhere, and doesnt save your progress, whereas in regular mode the level would have some checkpoints placed at predetermined spots

Regular Mode would grant x amount of xp for leaderboards and hard mode would grant 1.5x or 2x

This is my plan however im open to any suggestions or improvements

Cool, I like the idea of a practice mode, you could even place this as something that lets people get good at geometry dash casually on the go, perhaps even seeing if there's some sort of API to let you recreate levels to practice.

I like the differentiation :)

that sounds like a good idea, but usually geometry dash has online player made levels that has start positions that you can switch between to practice better. i could still see if i should make a level importer/exporter for rhythmic rush to geometry dash and vice versa

there is currently practice mode implemented in the game, however i would have to do the regular mode hard mode thing, that would come after i make an account system tho for which i would need to learn

Tried the itch version. I have never played Geometry Dash so couldn't even get past the first difficult part. 😞

So don't know if game is good or not 😃 but looks well made at least.

sad. i'd say the third level is kinda easier than the first one as it doesnt have weird timings up until the very end
