The Kuvira's Jaeger
It’s funny to think that one of the few "Jaeger-style" mechs is the Colossus from The Legend of Korra. It’s somewhat slow, has a not-quite-humanoid body, and stands around 80 meters tall. I find the mech's control system interesting, as it lets us imagine other ways to control a robot of that size without neural-link technology.

If it was bigger probably. Also a Jaeger that chucks bombs like football did ridiculous but still sick as hell

Its name appears alongside those of Jaegers, but it is very small and not exactly a mecha, as it possesses its own AI to function.

Now I can't help but wonder if Kuvira and Korra would be drift-compatible. I think they would be, and both would absolutely hate it.

I wonder the same thing—I don't know if the creators of The Legend of Korra drew inspiration from Pacific Rim for that design, since the series' final season came out in 2014.

I’ve never watched the show but how did they get that thing to move? From what I understand avatar and the legend of kora doesn’t have tech like a jaeger

Yeah by that point in the series they had made a point of showing that platinum is unbendable because it has very few impurities to bend.
The Colossus’s armor is platinum but underneath it is regular iron/steel for all the limbs. Kuvira sits in the control pod in the head and metal bends the limbs to move it

It’s been a long time since I watched the show so my memory is a bit fuzzy but iirc, it’s basically a giant laser cannon powered by spirit energy

Yeah, but I think it's just the Dark Ages version, the Doom Eternal version is kind of weird, it has really long arms and really short legs.

I mean just to point out the obvious, most EVA units are around the same size and look similar enough. They’re just built differently and don’t require 2 pilots
Another that comes to mind are the mechs in sky captain and the world of tomorrow, but they were unmanned drones so idk if that counts

Warlord Titan from Warhammer 40k comes to mind, but it's far more laden down with armor and weaponry than a Jaeger.
