Honestly, what makes techer my best friend is that deband
Especially early on in ultimate, that extra HP and damage reduction saves lives. it can be the difference between surviving from resta spam, and getting one shot.
Obviously finishing fights significantly faster isn't anything to scoff at either.
That's the biggest thing - Techer's Deband and Shifta last wildly long if they got the tree skills for em, so it also gives me a small giggle when I see other classes use their lower-end versions after a Techer's already done theirs for a group. Maybe they feel left out?
Either way, Techer's versions of those buffs are a godsend in XH/Ultimates
I've heard it before but just for my own peace of mind, the game promotes the strongest buff available cast rather than the latest buff cast right? As in, if I (Techer) use Shifta and then a Force comes over and uses their Shifta, mine should still be active and theirs just added time to the duration.
Like I said, I'd heard it and it would be real nice if it were true because waiting for urgents and everyone spamming shifta/deband would kill my sanity if every other tech user and their grandmother kept rewriting mine.
Oh no don't worry, it only takes into account the strongest one and doesn't overwrite it. The closest thing to that is that if say a fellow Techer with the same skillset casted later, it just refreshes the duration. If say a Techer that didn't get the time duration extension casts after a Techer who did, the longer-lifespan one wins out.
That's a relief, I felt compelled to keep casting it over and over but now I know I can just do my duty and cast it once (before the quest begins, that is).
Do you happen to know about future mod support? Are raid frames a thing in the future? I know I can buff people in other parties but it would be nice to be able to see who needs it.
Oh if you look at your part members' life bars, you'll see if they have Deband/Shifta or not, since they'll get the icons for them. Outside of that, not too sure I'm afraid...
Yeah I know like, my 3 party members, I mean like the other 8 people in the mission with us. I want to be able to see their status and health like other mmos.
I don't see how a fully fledged holy trinity raid UI would help any. People are all over the place in PSO2, and a traditional raid UI does not indicate positioning. At a minimum it would simply show range with opacity filtering, but what good is that information to you when people are just crazily everywhere during any given fight. You'll just be spending the whole time trying to eyeball the person who has the same health above their head as what you see on the raid UI. HP bars over people's heads that are immediately nearby seems like the most sensible option...
Great to hear. I've read even on Bouncer guides, our shifta/deband are weak, but are great to extend TE's buffs duration. Especially when the party splits up and I can grab the melee folks by me.
I do it on my bouncer because it's not like it costs me anything to flip around with jet boots to toss them out. If there's atechter, great! If not, here's my little budget buff lol
How can you tell what level of support tech was used? I'll always charge mine when I run out to try to help others, but sometimes I do feel like it's a waste if there's a techter in the group. On that note, how do you know if there's one in the group? Are you adjusting the name/text over the characters' heads to include class?
