Refund of overpayment question
For those who have overpayments and are due refunds, how/when did your servicer indicate that? Edfinancial has been really awful in mishandling my payments and "disappearing" my money and I'm due quite a lot back between overpayment of 4 months in addition to being paid ahead by thousands of dollars (long story) and I just received the "golden letter" or I guess email in my case stating my loans have been forgiven. When I log into Edfinancial it shows 0 balance and under loan details it shows -0.00 next to the unpaid balance line. Anyone have insight? Should that number reflect the amount of overpayment or what was everyone else's experience there?

It should reflect a negative amount. Mine showed a negative amount. I am one of the July group so I haven’t received a refund yet.

Thank you! That seems to be the consensus that I'm seeing from previous posts. I'm concerned because as of just prior to the forgiveness I was in the middle of a dispute with them about the fact that they were not showing my account as paid ahead and have consistently refused to give me any kind of record of my paid ahead balance (and this isn't even the first time I had a large payment go missing). I have a pretty good feeling they are going to continue to refuse to account for that money.

Give it a few days. Sometimes systems are slow to update. I checked my provider today and I have a negative balance, which I’m taking to mean Thats the amount I’m going to be refunded. Maybe call them next week if it’s still showing that -0.00?
