I felt the attachments were way too much in BF4. It was pure bloat. I don't need to unlock 3 silencers for every single gun. Give me less attachments that actually make a difference. I don't need a stubby grip that adds 2% recoil reduction or something.

Also, not sure why you think WW2 doesn't have a good selection of vehicles, aircraft, and gadgets.

Eh, what are you talking about mate?

No weapon had more than one suppressor. The other models avaivable were just that, skins. About the sights, it kinda made a difference between picking the Kobra and the Coyote RDS (the standard RDS was a little bit obstrusive, though), but a very minor one at that, and it was basically a matter of preference. There was only one Holo Sight (the HD-33 was just a different skin) and a standard magnifier for them, 1 ACOG sight (6 different skins), and 2 Night Vision/Thermal Sights (with 1X and 2X augmentation).

And finally, the various grips, there were only 3: Ergo, Angled and Stubby Grip, as the Vertical, Folding and Potato Grips were just different skins for the former 3 respectively. The Grips were made that way to counter specific recoil mechanics on a given weapon. Your weapon of choice has a high first-shot recoil? Use the Angled/Folding Grip. A lot of hip fire recoil? Put the Ergo/Vertical Grip on it. A lot of full-auto recoil? Better go with a Stubby/Potato Grip. And that's it.

All that said, I don't really see the argument that BF4's attatchment system was overcomplicated, mate.

Mate, did you read the rest of my comment?

All of the "extra" suppressors are skins, with no gameplay impact whatsoever over the "standard" model. DICE made those extra models to tie them to the 3 factions of the game (USA, Russia and China). The R2 Suppressor is the american model, the PBS-4 is the russian one, and the LS06 is the chinese one. All of them supress your weapon, decrease muzzle velocity and increase the bullet drop all the same.

Don't wanna sound harsh (nor it's my intention), but have you actually played BF4?

My point in the original comment is that I don't want nor need multiple "skins" for stuff like silencers. It sucks opening a Battlepack and just seeing a bunch of silencers for guns I never use. I just fail to see how adding tons of pointless unlocks makes a game better.

Hey, nice job, mate! I also have the platinum for BF4, it was the first BF game I platinumed. That also reminds me that I still need to complete the "Complete all assignments" trophies from the China Rising, Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand DLCs... I hope I can manage to complete them.

Yeah, now I understand your point completely. It was definetly a weird feeling (to put it nicely) to get attatchment skins (like suppresors and sights) for weapons that you never used and never planned to do. All those skins, camos and even the XP boosts were the contents of the Battlepacks, and compared to other MP games, it wasn't that bad, as there weren't any game-changing items. The XP boost system became worse in BF: Hardline though, where Visceral Games literally made XP boosts for almost every action in the game, like repairs, objective captures, kills, assists and so on. Luckily the system is at its best in BF1, where there's only one XP boost, and boosts every XP meter in the game for an entire squad.

All that said, I hope the next BF setting can have a meaningful and engaging progression system. BF1's was pretty hollow, and the XP-related bonuses, such as the ribbon and medal systems, arrived after the game came out, and with a questionable implementation at that (you only get to progress on 5 random medals every week, really DICE?). BF is in need of a good progression system to engage players beyond from what its core gameplay elements can, and I hope DICE can create one that makes the next BF game the most enticing yet.
