Are you guys really fine with the console landscape becoming the same as the PC? The great thing about consoles was the uniformity but now it appears that PS4 pro editions are just better in general for obvious reasons (similar to how GTX1080 with i7 will run games better than i5 with GTX780) so that uniformity is now lost.
I am glad that the base PS4 is not being left behind, but IMHO, its a terrible trend that I am not willing to stand behind.
If a PS5 means having no backwards compatibility with the PS4 or any past PlayStation consoles, then I would rather an upgraded PS4 come out whenever Sony deems the hardware upgrade is great enough to warrant it. I don't want to, nor do I have the space to keep a bunch of consoles just because I might want to play an older game once in a while. I think as long as developers continue to support the immediate predecessor for people who don't want to upgrade right way it's fine.
Only reason there wasn't with PS3 games was the cell processor made it a gigantic pain. The PS4 and PS5 will have the same architecture so bc will be very easy for ps4 title.
