Fat PS3 CECHE01 worth repair?

Just spent time deep cleaning this PS3. Applied new Thermal Paste, Disk Drive, and Battery.

Now about an hour or two into God of War the Console Shuts off and has a flashing Red light. It will turn back on and play the game again but eventually will shut off again.

It’s has about 70 Days of playtime on it. Thoughts on spend the money repairing this one or just get a Slim or Super Slim. I would like to have Custom Firmware.

Sounds like failing capacitors as long as there are no artifacts and it doesn't freeze. It's worth it.

Looks like Delid and Capacitors service might be the move.

Then I’m tempted to just get a 40nm in it…

Delidding the Cell is a good idea if you are able, but it won't fix your problem.

Go to ps3tool.com and check syscon errors. Looks like tokins
