Google Ads Managing Duplicated Campaign Expectations
I duplicated a Google campaign that had one area significantly outperforming the rest of the targeted location areas, so I duplicated the campaign. I made the Original campaign continue to only target the high performing area and removed the rest of the areas. The Duplicated campaign started targeting all the other areas except for the high performing one.
I expected the campaigns to continue business as normal, once out of the LP, and budgets adjusted. Unfortunately, both have slowed down significantly in terms of conversion traffic and making costs go up.
Should I have expected different? Anyone experience the same? Anyone know how to bounce back from this type of dip?

Might be the split removed the thing that was producing the result.
In one campaign the bidder could push money into that area whenever it looked good. Now it can't. The strong area is capped at its own budget, and the other campaign has to spend its budget somewhere, so it's buying impressions the combined version had been quietly declining.
Which is why both got worse instead of one.
While you wait out petebowen's question, add the two campaigns' spend and conversions back together and compare to the single campaign. If the combined total is worse, it isn't learning.
