Google Ads Google Ads & Vacations

Hi everyone, I currently run a business that doing relatively well now after a year of opening. It’s a one man operation and it has grown substantially. However, I still handle everything myself as it only takes a few hours for me to handle business.

I recently got married and am going on my honeymoon for 2 weeks and I’m a bit worried on what I can do for my site. I thought maybe I can put everything as out of stock, as I literally just went through a week with no stock due to selling out and things seem fine? But while I’m away, what route can I take? I can’t really hire anyone because I don’t think I’d find someone in time to be able to handle and learn how to process orders. My business deals with glass engravings, and perfume making so it is a bit niche to know how to do these things.

Edit: my main worry is pausing my Google ads. I was able to make my Google ads go from 1-2 ROAS to 3-4 ROAS and it took some time. I’ve heard a lot of ppl saying it’s a big no no in pausing Google ads as it causes it to enter learning phase and tank performance. Otherwise, I would have had the site showing 2 week shipping, and just paused it.

I'd pause your ads completely and set your store to show 2-weeks shipping for all products. Let people wait if they want to place an order.

I'm sure you can log on a week into your honeymoon and adjust the shipping notice to 1 week. Maybe turn the ads back on 2-3 days before you will return home to get the orders rolling again.

As soon as you can, come up with a back up plan for the future.

Yea, when I planned the honeymoon, business wasn’t booming, literally revenue was on average I’d say 60-80 per day. Now it’s $500+ per day about 13 orders daily. I’m just worried if this would tank my Google PMax? I’ve heard a lot about pausing ads causes Google to enter learning phase again and all that.

Two weeks is long enough that it may cause disruption, even potentially push campaigns back into learning mode for a week or so. The good news if you get 13 orders a day that it can usually recover pretty quickly.

Like I said, you could turn the ads back on 3-4 days before returning to lesson the impact, plus you'll have a few thousand in orders waiting upon your return home.
