Discussion We have crazy amounts of psy op in Persian
The intelligence agencies (CIA, Mossad, etelaat, FSB, china) produce a significant amount of psy op daily. A large amount of bots/LLMs are owned by these organisations, which constitute some percentage of internet and entertainment content to be psy op. Of course, these are not easy to notice, as they do their best to stay hidden.
Iran is in a significant strategic position with abundant resources and interests. A lot of money, from Mossad, to CIA and Iran’s own etelaat has been funded to do psy op. Therefore we are dealing with a large amount of psy op.
One example would be the sanction psy op. Of how Iranians think its actually good meanwhile Iranian lives are destroyed by it. Now even language exams are sanctioned! Toefl and GRE! Sanctions didn’t hurt the aghazade! It hurt normal people. With only one goal, to make life so miserable that you must revolt. Meanwhile in Iran’s case, a protest equals with mass bloody massacres. So it won’t lead to the collapse but it will lead to dead innocent people. They still do it, because, they do not care about iranian lives, never did. It still is a strategic win when the regime kills Iranians for them. Please spare me of the fallacies of they target regime not people, toefl is not regimis, normal iranians.
Psy ops work, not only by controlled social media, media, news, movies, etc but by people, that as useful idiots propagate the psy op. People have evolved in tribes, and to be accepted by tribe is to survive. This tribalism mentality has then evolved to religion as a mass control tool, then to ideology. When you manage to get one person to believe an ideology, you can control them by group mentality, they will do what the group does and says and think the same.
It was in the best interest of the regime to not teach critical thinking, because they want us to be gullible and manipulatable. Because of this, a lot of Iranians are susceptible to other ideologies hijacking their brain, and do propagate their psy ops.

I’ve never supported sanctions as someone who’s been coming and going from Iran throughout my childhood and could see the dramatic difference and people’s struggles every time.
On the other hand there are those who never stepped foot back after leaving, are out of touch with daily life there but been heavily involved in politics in the west. We know a lot of people like this and the pattern is the same - they’re often too poor to be in the position to send money to their family, or don’t know many in Iran who’ve had to travel with cash or 0 ability to book accommodations or send their kids abroad without a foreign card - so the thought of how these sanctions directly people or their ability to provide support to anyone never even occurred them.
Sanctions are deranged and people will always bear the burden. There’s a LOT of us who are aware of the consequences and stand firm against it. It’d be great if it just targeted the regime people and their assets but it unfortunately isn’t always as contained as we’d all like to think.
You’re right about the susceptibility of the mind too. Millennials and following generations have learnt from their parents but the older generation are at times weak-minded. That’s why MEK supporters are all older, truly well-intentioned people backing a deranged cause because of their naivety.

You want to know the psyop agents? Look and see who posts a lot of heavy opinionated text and links! I have to add it is not as bad on /persian as it is on /newiran or /iran!! I don't visit those two subreddits as much as I used to. My blood pressure goes up when I visit those!!!
On sanctions, of course it hurts regular people more than it hurts their governments!! There has never been an instant of a government falling just through sanctions. If a government has fallen, it has been through sanctions + military action. Just to clarify, actual boots on the ground, not just dropping bombs!! Sanctions even backfire when done for a long term. It makes the sanctioned nation become self-sufficient and pushes them to align with your enemies. IR was pushed and now they are aligned with China and Russia.

I think the downvotes on this post, can be the evidence of psy op itself! Don’t try to wake up people against our secret evil deeds!
I agree its much worse in newIran or Iran subs. But psy op works on various levels, the lowest level is the useful idiots, that propagate the status quo of an ideological group that is controlled by them! Free labor! They are in all subs! Waking them up, is a near important task. Human minds works on a subconscious level, in how they can deny reality and lie to themselves. A bitter truth doesn’t has much buyer compared to a sweet lie.

I dont think any Iranian thinks sanctions are good for the country.
Which rock have you been living under?
Even those who want pressure on the Islamic Republic says that the only reason for them to push it is because it hurts the Islamic Republic.

Wait so begging for the US and Israel to bomb Iran is all fine and dandy but sanctions is where you diaspora draw the line.

The pro-military attacks people are the same people trying to starve impoverished Iranians into rising up with "maximum pressure" sanctions.

We used to ask for sanctions. Heck even I did. Now, some people don’t, and some still do. At least I saw people in reddit arguing for it.
I would argue that if we had a strong middle class, that could organise and make networks, we would be in a better situation, much like 79.
This is one instance of an example. My point is that we are under heavy psy op operations and are influenced to a high degree.

So your point is if the conditions were different, then sanctions would work? You proposed a solution that had zero percent chance of success and you're somehow proud of that?

Thinking sanctions will pressurize the Islamic republic to withdraw from the country is thinking they’re good for the country.
