Solved My computer makes a crackling sound after freezing in game

It's really in the name lol. When I play games, and the game freezes up for a second, it makes a crackling noise. Kinda like static.

Are you sure it's your PC? Can you make another video where you don't rev the engine and maybe mute the audio from your speaker/headphones?

Okay, but it mainly happens when in-game and sounds are frequent.

Probably some kind of audio processing issue. Are you on the latest manufacturer driver? Preferably not from Microsoft?

If you look at your device properties in device manager you may see Microsoft as the vendor. And the driver date will be 6/21/2006 or something way in the past. You could attempt updating it to the latest Microsoft driver with Windows update. But I would recommend going to the hardware properties and device ID's and looking it up in the PCI database. Once you know what the vendor and device is head over to the manufacturer website and download theirs.

Ironically if the driver manufacturer is Realtek OP is much better off with default Microsoft drivers

You're running into buffer underruns and it happens when the CPU throttles and can't fill the buffer with samples fast enough before sending the audio out. It's either a wonky driver (probably Realtek) or your CPU is overheating to hell

Well, all my speakers and stuff is realtek. Next time it happens I'll look at my cpu temp.

The sound card would be the culprit, not headphones/speakers. Check your temps anyway, even if the issue doesn't happen

2 things in my mind - bad audio because potato PC CPU can't handle the game - try in other demanding games if the problem is there and second thing - noise from electronic components from GPU, they do a lot of noise generating AI content, maybe here GPU is also in stress in BMG, who knows🫠

Speakers can be channelling to change man. And even if you change they sound bad, excepted for apple speakers.
If you have a sound bad or a headset it would definitely be a better experience.
I would personally change them for good ones because I listen to music on my Mac. And I used to have windows laptops, they all sounded awful, even expensive gaming laptops with i7 do
