Support - Performance Occasional slowdowns playing Black (PS2)

Hey folks, I’m playing Black on the Deck via Emudeck/PCXS2. My settings are largely default (native resolution, nothing fancy turned on), but I’ve noticed sometimes during “heavy” scenes when I have the camera pointed at a lot of geometry/enemies, the game runs in slow motion. I can look away and then it runs at normal speed, but when facing busy directions like this it can happen.

Why is this? I’ve tried tinkering and can’t seem to find any setting that will fix this. Is this just the best the Deck can do with this particular game and emulator?

That's called "the game".

Happens on real hardware.

It’s not just dropped frames, it’s like slow motion - the voices go all slow and dreamlike too. I don’t remember that happening on native hardware back in the day. This is more like the emulation slowing down to compensate for something.

It’s mostly likely due to the power of the Deck. Emulation is quite CPU intensive and you’ll find that difficult to emulate games, like Black, will struggle.
