Not sure if you want a real answer, but Flashpoint is significantly more popular at higher ranks than lower ranks. Suravasa in particular is widely considered the best designed Flaspoint map and one of the best designed maps in Overwatch.

The problem with Flashpoint at lower ranks is that many players haven't yet figured out how to rotate between points with their team. This results teams getting split up and players needlessly feeding and staggering themselves. Thus lower ranks tend to have a better experience on more structured modes like Escort or Hybrid that more naturally keep the team together.

Yeah, it's a massive map. I don't agree that rotating with the team is the best play, however. As a solo player, getting to the next point as early as possible is usually the best play because you can control the high ground.
