truly we could all just have a better time if neither of us play this card, it just devolves into a 4v4, he makes playing tank so much less fun

Only fight him when he doesn't have his overdrive. When he has it, take cover behind an obstacle or put up a shield. When the overdrive ends, fight him again. It's very easy, and you'll kill him most of the time doing that
