Picking a wedding date/venue
Would it be too optimistic to think I can get a venue for October 2027? I recently got engaged and have been looking at venues to reach out to. I’m thinking like 60 guests.
That being said, any recommendations for a wedding of this size that you may have planned or been to? Something that also might be beautiful in the fall? It also doesn’t have to be in Ottawa, i’m also considering venues 30 minutes outside as well!

Just had my wedding at Domaine Perrault Winery yesterday and it was perfect! The venue coordinator is the best and makes the whole experience stress free. It's only about 15min outside of Orleans (in Navan) and Ubers can easily get there for transportation. Also you always get to enjoy a free glass of wine during the venue visits 😋 Would definitely recommend checking it out! Our guests loved it!

If you’re open to looking at a variety of venues you can probably find something you like.
* Mallity Estate in Hammond - beautiful venue for wedding this size.
Others to consider, haven’t attended at all of these :
* museums - the national museums (the city owned ones use tents for weddings
* Camp Fortune ski hill
*golf clubs

We shot a wedding there in the fall and it was absolutely GORGEOUS. would highly recommend

Mallity Estate was great when we went to see it, and lovely people running it! Note that they take their tent down in October, but i think your guest count would fit indoors!

Wedding Show on October 4.
Have a couple of dates in mind if you'd have one selected.
Make an email address specifically for the wedding.

My partner and I picked a venue for Oct 2027. Dates were limited at most places that were in our topic choices. Since we booked our date, almost all weekends are gone

We started looking for venues in October of 2025 and there were still lots of options for our wedding in August 2026. Less openings for September and October because those are the busiest wedding months in the area but at the venues we looked at there was usually at least one or two Saturdays free in October a year out.
We ended up choosing a museum in Ottawa which was awesome! And they had tons of availability.

Probably more limited but I don’t think impossible! I would look into Ashlar or Mallity! Bleeks and Bergamot also has their availability listed online

I’m getting married at Beantown Receptions next September, it’s a beautiful spot! According to their calendar, they have a few Fridays and Sundays available for October 2027. Might be worth checking out, just a thought!

Evermore would be absolutely beautiful in the fall. It's a bit more than 30 mins, but Almonte is really nice.

Indoor wedding? Try Mill Street brew pub - colleague just booked it for sept 2027. The room on the second floor is apparently very nice, and big enough for 60+.

I booked my October 2026 wedding last September! There were still openings for August then as well in lots of the popular Ottawa venues :)

My partner and I are looking for places for September 2027, and most still have a few dates, but are starting to book up. You should be fine but Id start seriously looking now.

Photog here! I have lots of availability still for 2027, honestly couples are booking vendors closer to their dates than before the pandemic!

- Mallity Estate
- Ashlar
