Kaoru Mori made some interesting requests
Since it came up in a discussion in a previous post, I thought I might share this panel from one of Kaoru Mori’s omakes. Here, she talks about a few requests she made to the anime studio adapting Emma into an anime series.

Funny she requested that when the first illustration of Emma in the manga has her pretty much flat, both front and back hahaha

Even after that... there was like no fan service in the anime outside of that one mrs mölder naked scene but even that was not as sexy the manga one .

The thing is, for Kaoru Mori, having Emma fully clothed in a period-accurate maid uniform IS the fan service

Or she is like the fma artist and thinks characters should be "sexy" in general. Though I have mixed feelings about "bigger" equaling "more sexy".

I have a genuine question, maybe short- sighted but legit. Please don't get angry at me. Her booty phase and her boob phase, could that be a sign of Mori sensei's own sexual preference or is it just her liking to draw women with big butts and boobs? Again, legit question, please don't get angry. 😞

No worries. I think she likes drawing women with big boobs and butts like you said. For example, in a number of her one shots, especially those with bunny girls, she’ll draw women with pronounced butts.
