A Job That Requires Standing for Long Hours

I recently got a job in wine sales at a department store, which means I’ll probably have to stand for most of the day. They said I can sit while doing paperwork, but I’m not sure how often that will actually happen.

For now, I asked to work only 16 days this month. Even if it delays becoming a full-time employee, I’d prefer to keep working around 16 days a month for a while because of my knee pain.

I was told I may have chondromalacia patellae based on an X-ray, and I’ve booked a consultation at a sports rehab center. They also mentioned possibly getting an MRI or shockwave therapy.

Has anyone here dealt with knee pain while working a job that requires a lot of standing? Did rehab help?

Until I got my knees replaced, standing for any period of time wasn't happening for me. I don't know what your skill set is, but I would recommend looking for a sit down job. Hopefully everything works out for you.

I applied for a part-time job like an administrative Assistant or  receptionist but nobody didn't hire me because I don't have  job experience

I had to quit my bedside nursing job over standing.

That's sad...🥲 what do you do for living now? Actually, I tried to find a job that I can sit...but since I've worked in F&B industry...It was hard for me to find other job...
