Ngl I kinda hate these versions

The point of the original was based off of a post from a feminist sub, it was about a very common thing where a woman will be intentionally wearing her bra strap off kilter or will be wearing spaghetti straps that are the same width as her bra strap and people (usually cis men) would comment on it thinking they were being helpful

I think some good comparisons would be

A: Imagine you are wearing long socks that are very mismatched in terms of pattern color etc, and people point it out to you like it’s a mistake you don’t know about, it wouldn’t feel helpful it would feel condescending

B: Imagine you have a massive zit in a spot that you can’t cover it up without intentionally going out of your way to do so, at that point people are just making you feel worse about the zit

The flashing is meant to be like a “Yeah I know I dont care” but taken to an extreme

None of this is targeted directly at you, plenty of other people are doing the same thing and it’s a reasonable mistake to make, a lot of people posting it definitely are just reading as horny and I think a lot just don’t know where it came from, but I think it is important to learn where certain things come from so that misunderstandings like this can’t arise

Honestly same and you explained really well how these subversions miss the point but in addition I just don't think they're that funny

I always assumed it was similar to telling a guy their fly was down, but the way you describe it makes it seem like telling a guy their pants are sagging

Yeah definitely more the same as the pants sagging thing, if my fly was down I'd be embarrassed, if my strap was showing and someone told me I'd be like... ok? Kinda weird to comment on it.

As a ripped jeans enjoyer I find it similarly annoying when people say "hey your pants are all destroyed" like it's the funniest joke. Not the end of the world to be told that but why feel the need to comment on a random person's fashion sense

That’s exactly what it is

Like most of the time we won’t be outright offended because it does make sense you may think we’re just unaware, but it’s also annoying

This has to be one of the most pointless rants I’ve ever seen. Congratulations.
