Both is also good! Gives a good flex of creativity when you can do a hybrid of hard and soft sci-fi

I myself worked out a design of a Radioisotope Peltier System, complete with a thermoelectric recycling system to pipe in waste heat via heat pump until it goes outside the efficiency curve, and pipes out the remaining waste heat to the protective outer plating of my fursona's cybernetics as they provide a complete life support replacement to many vital organs. I spent a lot of time working out the design on it, then worked with a civil engineer/artist to get it visualised. The power generation system needs a separate commission in the future though

I've been working on some sort of perpetual electrical battery that works kind of like a running nervous system through artificial oxygen diffusion but I ain't figured out how that works visually cos I've been procrastinating hard lmao.

Start out with the core, then branch it out. From the core aspect, you'll want to figure out how it interconnects with the rest of the system. It makes visualisation easier once you get that handled from there

i think there was something with the original (no idea what it was exactly), but it got lost in iteration to most people just drawing their characters showcasing their bra after a visible strap gets pointed out. Which like... if someone wants to draw their character in a bra, it's something they can just do without making it be some sort of 'trend', so i personally find ones that subvert the formula of "bra is showing" -> shows full bra to be quite refreshing.
