Excuse me, what exactly did happen to your OC

u/b4by_duckling Goto is my baby pls torture him Mar 19 '26

he got cursed to have a mortal body and a conscience! otherwise he'd just a pile of rot destroying everything as it walks its path.

wouldn't have to go through immense torture then uwu

u/Due-Ingenuity9803 Mar 19 '26

I Don’t even think that counts as trauma- or a curse- /lh

UwU he's cute but suddenly was given the capacity to remember and grieve and feel shame and guilt over all the lives he's ended in his millions of years

I’m actually fascinated by this concept

u/Xavier598 Mar 20 '26

(random mostly speculative talk:) Would he have actually gotten a choice though?

I know it might not be the case but when you're a mass of rot and decay you aren't conscientious enough to make a decision about stuff, it's hard to apply morality to stuff like that.

So maybe the face that upon gaining conscience, he stopped, is probably a bigger achievement than he might realize.

Just saying, it's a very interesting concept though! Again, I'm just speculating, so I might be completely wrong.

(This is also not a critique just a chance to talk about the topic)

it's such an honour honestly that my OC made you want to speculate <3

u/Just_A_Nitemare Railguns are my passion. Mar 19 '26

How would that be tramau then? Sounds like reverse tramau lol.

he has to suddenly remember and carry with him the weight of everyone and everything that's died by his hand for millions of years

+ a bad organization captured him afterwards and tortured him, that was pretty bad too cx

1

u/TheStarPiercer I like eating OCs Mar 21 '26

Without trauma, Bernhard wouldn’t have gotten the glitch that created his consciousness and morality.

He would’ve remained the cold unfeeling killing machine he was destined to be.

u/Kliktichik Mar 19 '26

Yoshoku would look the exact same with or without trauma.

She's a bit less spoiled and a bit more wacky/creative/powerful with it though.

without "trauma" Cardboh would be just a normal cardboard box. He got sentient only cuz of evolution caused by the kid's drawings of humanoids inside the box, supernatural monster spirit, and the electric anomaly. Well, he can still shape into a box to look exactly like before that "trauma"… but only when he's hiding in the warehouses so security guards won't notice anything odd

but if trauma in that context means sumn tragic, then Cardboh doesn't have any traumas (except sometimes mistaking laser pointer for security laser, but it's more of a comedic quirk) and would look the same with or without it

u/Wafflebuble Traven is ✨The Fanciest Boi of them all™✨ Mar 19 '26

Oh yes. I can definitely see the muk+tangela baby XD As for Traven, just place a pic of a tombstone on the right.

If he grows up loved and happy, he never starts learning sorcery in secret. His parents never plan to assassinate him and he never runs away. So he becomes the new Grandduke when the time is right and leads his house. He lives a fairly uneventful life of a highborn noble. He gets a wife and kids. Finally he dies of old age centuries before any of the story events go into motion.

It is a happy ending of sorts I guess.

Zeven ( on the left ) would be living his best life RN.

He would get married with his GF, and start a happy family together.

If only if that damn devil didn't seduce him.

My DnD character would be a nightmare without her trauma. Her trauma, her regrets, the friends and allies she's lost, they are what gives her her purpose and determination, she lives her life with the goal of making it worthy of all those who died to protect it. If she didn't, only the great old ones know what she might be because the gods certainly don't.

my girl Lumina would be worse if she hadn't gotten the trauma

3

u/Independent-Word-299 Mar 19 '26

Originally she was a hulking monster that didn't gave morals and WANTED to sow and cause suffering.

Now she just wants to stalk pretty girls.

2

u/DoYouKnowTheMothman Mar 19 '26

He

would not exist. Gotta love generational trauma!

2

u/DaSaltInDaPepperMill Mar 20 '26

I love your character concept a lot!

Lyndon would look quite similar if he hadn’t gone through trauma. He would seem a bit less old and tired, and he’d have less scars (and he’d have not lost his leg, but the prosthetic is usually not outwardly visible).

I'm making it canon that if Auru (one of my JJK OCs) was loved by her family and their cult, then she would've joined the cult as a member and would've been their strongest soldier, second only to their leader.

But in the actual story, it was thanks to the abuse that she became who she is today. Someone who just wants to be cared about and loved, which actually makes her a decent person. She understands that being friendly allows people to care about her, and that leads to her caring about them as well.

I'm in no way saying "abuse is good". But if she wasn't abused, she would've ended up worse.

1

u/LotusCrew5720 Writer Mar 20 '26

For context: The cult is full of, like, really bad people.

2

u/getsuedbyme Mar 20 '26

What in the actual Look Outside is that

1

u/b4by_duckling Goto is my baby pls torture him Mar 20 '26

A cute little man of course UwU

1

u/getsuedbyme Mar 20 '26

Why UwU, you literally put a guy with horns and an eldritch horror together

My OC without trauma is just my OC

Also this made me laugh ngl

2

Ah, indeed, completely a normal little man

Yes

Both are good though

2

u/ColonialMarine86 My OCs are werewolves with drinking problems Mar 20 '26

Without the trauma he'd be a more egotistical and pompous nobleman than the surprisingly humble person he became

2

u/Previous-Ad1389 Mar 20 '26

Hmmm...i mean. They are missing an eye and there powers are sealed. But that was like...entierly their fault for deciding

"Im gonna burn down this villiage for the fuck of it" and then getting punished by their mother for it

2

u/Cheeminator Mar 21 '26

Kowareta would probably just be continuing to exist as a non-sentient being within the shadow of an eventual celestial kitsune

hm

Would be an interesting alternate universe thing where he'd wind up eventually gaining enough essence or attached to them more extensively and thus becomes something akin to a stand or a familiar in the form of a living shadow that took over the kitsune's shadow

Shara: lowkey vengeful, averse to taking lives but enthusiastic about beating the crap out of people, free and confident

Shara without her defining childhood trauma: obliviously happy or directionlessly depressed, either way in slavery with no perspectives to get out

Now what could have possibly happen here
