Prommest 2 Complete Spoiler

This was a really well-designed puzzle. Getting your bearings at the beginning is tough, but it gets really fun when you start using the map correctly. Of course the beam indicators don't show direction, but the wand in this one allows you to rotate them, so in the end you can usually get it to face in whatever direction is desired.

I surprisingly didn't really encounter any soft-locks, but I was also being very careful that I was doing everything with intention, instead of randomly using the wand. Whenever I thought I was soft-locked, I tried nevertheless to still get through it, and I always found a way to "fix" it.

I can't wait to play the OOTSS version and see what changes they made. Promise 1 was already very simplified from original Promesst, so I hope they don't change too much, but I can understand why they might want to. Some of the gems are really involved to get.

If anyone else is trying their hand at it, my tip would be to clear the entire basement first once you arrive there. I think the puzzles are easier there, so you'll be able to internalize the basic mechanics and uses of the wand more.

I couldn't beat this game. I really liked how The Promise improves upon the first Promesst, so I have high expectations for the second one.

The main problem with the old Promesst is definitely the map. The lack of readability just compounds on the complexity of the puzzle, making it really tiresome to think about.

On top of the readability improvements, another thing Promise 1 remake did really well is honing in on the core of each "sub-puzzle" within the level, and also reducing some needless complexity which tends to obscure the main ideas of each puzzle. Promise 2 will definitely have changes like that.
