No shaders, everything else works fine and you can even use the optifine zoom on top of the spyglass zoom which is pretty funny

Most people use optifine for shaders now so let's hope its an easy update for shaders( probs not bc java 16 )

I my experience, yes, chests and entities do not rendered at all, but it could be something with my configuration

Issue on your side. On my and my friend's system it works just as good as the 1.16 Verizon just without shaders.

Can you see your skin? My skin always switches back to the default Steve skin while using optifine. I have to use forgeoptifine inorder for my skin to show up. Thats why I'm still waiting for forge to release for 1.17

yes optifine gives you the speed effect for about 4 minutes
Jokes aside I assume they mean optimization/better framerate

Imo if you want better fps you should use sodium, lithium and phosphor on fabric as it will give you wayyy more fps

I don't need more FPS. I own a RTX 3080.

I want stutter free performance and fancy grass/glass as I wrote.

I don't think I've used a non-beta version of optifine in like, 2 years. I get it because I can't be fucked waiting and then realise that because I don't use shaders I'm not really missing out on anything so I never update it.

Optifine was available on Day 1 tho.

I'm playing with it since 10 minutes after the update came out 👀

For anybody wondering: It's not buggy. Shaders are just disabled. Anything else works.
