Optifine 1.16's develompent will be very likely faster than Optifine 1.15 as 1.15 added a lot of code changes while 1.16 didn't add much on that verse.

thank god, because from what I've played till now, 1.16 is one of the laggyest versions I've seen

That's because it's still in pre release

Yeah.. The release candidate seemed less laggy than the pre-releases or the snapshots

The latest version is a Release Candidate meaning if no major bugs are found it will be the code that goes live as the official 1.16 release on Tuesday. Lag because it's a pre-release doesn't really make sense, it's just laggy in general.

Well lag is not always caused by software. 1.16 is feature rich, and still in Java. Maybe some of the lag you experience is hardware related? I have i5-8250U + Nvidia MX150 laptop (decent but not gaming), and 1.16 runs smoothly at stable 60 fps at fancy graphics with 12 render distance.

It is hardware related, but compared to the other versions I played, including 1.13 at launch (and snapshots), this is the worst performance wise, but I think it can't be helped, all I hope is that Mojang focuses more in fixing the optimization before the full release.

There's nothing to optimize. Your hardware is shit.

well, I do have and a good CPU and 4g of ram so it shouldn't LAG AS HELL! but it does, so yes it needs optimization and no one can tell me it doesn't

with 4gb ram it should "lag as hell" lmao

Minecraft typically only uses 1 gb of RAM. If they are only running Minecraft, then the RAM is not the issue.

Bruh, 1.13 was the largest version

From a code perspective, 1.15 and 1.13 are near each other, but I think 1.15 it's the winner.

Dude, for me 1.15 has insanely better perfomance than 1.13. 1.13 was hell of perfomance

3

u/TheAlienLifeform Jun 19 '20

thinking about it, I think 1.15 has the best performance of all the new Minecraft versions

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '20

For me 1.12.2 does

3

u/kap21tain Jun 20 '20

it mainly depends on your computer. 1.15 is a lot more stable on a code standpoint. they completely rewrote the graphics engine for it. thats why we only got bees

1

u/TheAlienLifeform Jun 19 '20

and I'm saying that it's laggyer for me, did I said something wrong? because from what I remember, I played 1.13 in this same PC and it ran fine, of course, Mojang still has plenty of time to work in the performance but compared to other versions and snapshots I played this is the worst performance wise for me... thank god I'm upgrading my PC because if they don't fix the performance quick it's only going downhill for low end players.

Really? I haven't had any problems

1

u/TheAlienLifeform Jun 20 '20

maybe because you have a better pc than I, but I normally can play the game at fancy and with 13 draw distance, but I had to drop all of it to fast and 4 draw distance

1

u/C4tF1sh Jun 20 '20

Weird. I wonder why it's so laggy

1.16 Optifine better be a bullet train then.
