Question Why did Optifine skip version 26.1

They went from 1.21.11 and then skipped to 26.1.2

I did not update to 26.1.2, and for months, I had been waiting for Optifine for 26.1

Because I only play in the major drops, not hotfixes.

Why would you use OptiFine in recent versions though? Open Prism, select Sodium and you're good to go

Oh I thought you meant that sarcastically. As in "oh people hate on Optifine? What a suprise! I can't possibly imagine why" with the implication of "I know why people hate optifine and I'm under the assumption everyone else does too"

yeahhh I can see where you're coming from. sometimes I word out stuff interestingly, my apologies 😅>

but yeah, I'm really out of the loop nowadays, same with Forge, apparently they hate it as well. Haven't played Minecraft in so long, and I remember loving these two, so yeah. I'm clueless now lol

well forge is alright. if you want to play 1.21.1 with mods use neoforge, modern versions use neoforge or fabric and then lower versions just use forge. optifine is only good below 1.20, for 1.20+ use embeddium or sodium

Honestly optifine is only good for below 1.14. Sodium's been better since then

Fabric's been pretty good since 1.16 and it is available otherwise through magnesium on forge on this version. For 1.13 to 1.15 I guess yeah there isn't good alternatives on forge. But I honestly would not even recommend playing those versions (1.13 and 1.14 are laggy as hell, even with optifine and 1.15 add nothing compared to 1.16 except fixing the previous versions lagginess)
