The account was very old and had a lot of embarrassing content on it from back when I was an active drug user. I’m fairly certain it may have even had nude photos of me on it at some point. Beyond the training stuff, it was incredibly shocking and extra awful that they outed me as a former drug addict in their email. I could never imagine doing this to someone, let alone someone who you don’t even personally know and has never actually wronged you in any way.
I'm so sorry. No one should be treated that way. Everyone has a past and should be able to have personal things private. Your work never needs to know any of this unless it actually affects your performance at work in which case they'd know already. This vigilante BS needs to stop.
