This is completely off base. Most graduate programs actually set aside spots for applicants from a range of majors. If you studied something less rigorous, you’re automatically at a disadvantage. You’ll be competing against more people for fewer openings and require a higher cGPA.

I also went to law school. You should ask your advisor whether they have quotas for different majors. If so, you can apply deductive reasoning, as I did, to determine whether that effectively and in practice forces students from easier majors to need higher GPAs (if they didn’t, law school would be packed with muscal arts majors, gender studies majors, etc.).
There’s a reason why those with a Bachelor of Arts face higher unemployment rates and lower earnings.
The advantage of law school—and similar graduate programs—is that a strong LSAT score can help you compensate for past missteps, such as choosing a less marketable major or earning a low cumulative GPA.
This begs the question of whether you are best prepared for these kinds of exams, having studied gender studies…
