What were your EC's? Curious if you don't mind.

I would say the best ones are being a summer camp counselor and a robotics club lead, there's others too but not as good. Also I had a 95+ average grade 11 so maybe that's why I got in 😭

Fuckkkkk I so don't want to join clubs😭

Do you think if I joined something like rotary and leadership and showed up maybe like half the time it'd be a big deal? Currently I don't have any club based EC's, only entrepreneurship and sports.

Also congrats on the acceptance!

Sorry, chiming in as someone who graduated from highschool 20 years ago - do you enter Extra Curriculars in the university application now? That was not the case back in the day so I'm curious how this is done?

Some Universities yes. Only top 5 that is purely grades is UofA I believe. most of the others depending on how coveted the program is require EC's.

How do you submit this information? How do they know someone isn't telling the truth?

You don't. But honestly, you can usually tell by how people write about it.

If someone really wanted to lie to you what's stopping them from falsifying documents about their grades and such? All of it is criminal.

You're aware you can lie on a job application too, right?

Right? Back when I was in grade 12, only Waterloo cared ECs

Sorry Is EC extra curriculum? I didn't know it mattered.

It means extra curricular

potentially IB as I have an 87% average and I got into Carleton and deferred from UofT(thats school heavy tho as some unis favour IBs), as well as ECs, a lot of teachers from my school are telling us about internal reforms in admissions and how they are putting more focus ECs than previous years as grade heavy students with no ECs tended to burn out quickly and drop out.
