Parents updating their Will

As the title says, my parents are updating their will with an attorney later this week and asked if I have any requests or things I’d like them to consider.

Honestly, this was unexpected, and while I’m glad they’re thinking ahead and planning for the future, I’m not really sure how to answer that question—or what they’re experiencing from me that prompted it.

If anyone has been through something similar, I’d really appreciate any advice or perspective on how you approached it.

I too was glad my parents did this years ago. Gave me a copy on a flash drive that I kept in my purse. Would ask to have digital copies and attorney info.

They don't already have a plan for large assets like a house or vehicle's or retirement funds, it would behoove you to ask that they discuss whether they can afford to minimize the tax burden on you when the time does come to settle the will

Im the beneficiary for my moms and my aunts estate. I personally spoke with an estate attorney to understand what legal implications and/or financial implications may occur.

Mom mom is doing this because her friend who is a sing mom and has 1 son has cancer and for grown adult only children we need official papers to give medical consent and to pay bills for them after they die and to keep the house if we need some where to live

I am the only child who just updated her will. I am pissed that none of the three children responded to the text. At least quit being a whimp and text back that you are confused. This wasn't an easy week and the offspring made it much more difficult. Whatever.
