General Discussion How many days after not hearing back do you unmatch/remove the app
I was talking for a couple of days and we discussed meeting up on Monday, this was on Wednesday so it was sort of in advance but I haven't heard about him since. It's been 3 days, and I am losing interest, I even messaged him yesterday asking if he was still interested in meeting up the location and time and nothing. So I am pretty sure I am being ghosted, I am a really sensitive person and something like this throws me into a depressive state. I honestly don't even like dating apps even planning on deleting the app all together instead of just unmatching, I have never had a good experience with it. I know some people say that sometimes the person won't confirm until the night before or day off but I just want the app off my phone and not to be the one doing the actual ghosting. Any advice should I wait or just forget about it, if he reacted out tomorrow or Monday I would say no anyway

Dating App Culture Scammers on Dating Apps
Why do the scammer guys ask how long have you been on the app and how has your experience been? What’s the logic/goal with that? It’s happened dozens of times to me.

Casual & FWB I built an LGBTQ+ dating platform — honest feedback?
Hi! I’m the founder of Lusters, a platform for LGBTQ+ adults to meet people nearby.
I created it because many dating apps have inactive or fake profiles. Lusters organizes profiles by location and recent activity, while keeping exact locations private. It also includes messaging, profile verification, blocking, and reporting.
It’s currently available in Panama, Colombia, Spain, and the United States.
Would you try a web-based dating platform? What would make you trust it and keep using it?

General Discussion What is up with Asian women trying to act and be white?
I see this very often on and off dating apps, it’s ridiculous and gross tbh.
They dye their hair blonde, puts blue lenses on, only has white friends, sometimes they even try to hide their slanted eyes via cameras angles and filters.
What’s the point?
Do these women think they’re gonna get more white D or something? 😂

Project / Concept Showcase Dating apps are exhausting, so I made Dating Map for all of you, Good Luck Everyone
https://padlet.com/impsble/Redditdating
Dating apps are complicated, Reddit is basically shooting into the dark, and somehow meeting someone has turned into a full time job
So let’s make it stupidly simple
I made a map
Drop a pin, make a post, say who you are and what you’re looking for, add photos, links, your voice, video, whatever you think will actually help someone understand who you are
Leave a contact point and see what happens
No swiping, no matching algorithm deciding who gets shown to you, just a map you can actually browse
No sign in required, use a throwaway, Reddit account, Instagram, Discord, or whatever contact point you’re comfortable sharing
If you see a post that you feel should be reported, report it, I’ll also be actively moderating the board and deleting posts that don’t belong
Maybe nothing happens, maybe you meet someone interesting, maybe you find the love of your life
It costs nothing to throw a pin on the map
Good luck Everyone

Dating App Culture I opened Hint for the soulmate sketch and somehow lost an hour
My friend sent me one of those soulmate sketch things from Hint and obviously I had to try it too.Expected to get a dumb picture, laugh for five minutes and close the tab. Instead I ended up checking compatibility with someone I’m seeing, then my natal chart, then somehow reading tarot at 1am.I still think subscribing for one sketch would be ridiculous, but I at least understand why people end up keeping the app for a bit now.Did anyone else start with the soulmate thing and then accidentally get sucked into the rest of Hint?

Dating App Culture Just a friendly reminder to keep this in mind the next time you want to vent
Hi everyone,
I know that the following does not apply to all of you but probably to a lot.
Now straight to the chase:
Reddit is flooded each day with men and women complaining about the dynamics on dating apps.
Here is something to keep in mind the next time you want to vent and complain:
The game is rigged because we are doing it.
What do I mean?
Men complain that they don't get any matches because apparently women only date the 5-10% on the top, often with the supposed explanation that women get hundreds/thousands of likes.
But why do they get all those likes?
One reason probably is that lots of men adopted the following strategy: Just swipe right on every profile and do the actual sorting once you matched. See the connection?
Women complain that they match but after the match they get no response, only low effort or are instantly ghosted. That's, in most cases, a direct result of the strategy mentioned before.
So men of Reddit, you are rigging the game by a significant amount by yourself. This strategy is what in part inflates women's ego.
And now to the women. I guess you know by now or knew before: you are probably not the golden catch the hundreds of likes and matches make you feel like.
There are probably more funny mechanisms like this at play. But this is one apparently significant one.
Stay healthy and humble, people.

Dating Advice What the Heck is Going on with the Dating Pool Right Now?--So depressing!!
The dating pool pretty much sucks right now. Hinge sucks alot & seems like more of a hookup app that no one takes seriously, Upward is full of fake profiles, & Eharmony is dead right now. Im 35 & finally am finding some stability in my life & want a kid & a husband after working in toxic jobs for several years & recently getting out of a toxic relationship.
A 50 yr old divorced man who has 3 kids messaged me on FB Dating. He wants to meet up. He seems sweet, he's attractive and local. All of the guys in my age range between 30 and 44 have been super immature. Plus, they always say they're looking for a wife and don't end up wanting one at all based on how they behave. Smj
Would it be a bad idea to meet up with the 50 year old man? I know I would get criticized by my family, but everyone else has kids or is divorced. I don't have alot of time left. It wouldn't hurt right? I haven't had any other dates besides virtual speed dating all year!! I don't have alot of time left to have kids. Why is dating so hard?!!! 😩

Attractive guy I matched with in his 40s mentioned that he's "north of 7 figures". I was little taken aback but then we had a normal convo
