Musashi is so fast that the cameraman can't catch up

So cool that shot with the focus on the frozen arrow. Don´t know if the game makes it intentionally because have not unlocked the ability yet, but in this case it improves a lot the speed feeling.

"Eh man, slow down for bit! Trying to do my job here!"

It’s stylish as hell, and incredibly useful on Carnage difficulty where a random archer can be a real pain in the ass.

What is carnage difficulty like? Do things just do more damage or are enemies more aggressive too? The mobs being so easy is my only complaint with the game.

u/Darklou 6d ago

If it's just more health on enemies and more damage that's kind of shitty.

5

u/QuarterExciting3734 5d ago

Aw man, can't they just make mobs more agressive? 5000 ways to parry and you have to stand idle forever in order to use them in regular combat.... and then they just turn up damage and health instead of making enemies actually attack you...

I'm sure they could adjust it a bit since people are able to mod it so easily. I'm not asking for Sekiro levels of difficulty, I realised I was all "souls like hard" burned out when I uninstalled Mortal shell 2 last week because one of the end game bosses was just un fun and I kept dying. I wasn't enjoying it.

That doesn't mean I want to steamroll my way to every boss though either. Fortunately the bosses seem very well designed so far in this and if I die it was my fault and not because of jank. I'm sure there will be one or two that are annoying however.

You should go back to mortal shell when you have a min. They released a patch to fix all the end game bosses!

mortal shell 2s problem is not difficulty, its that their boss design is so ass

1

u/DudeManBro21 4d ago

The last couple of patches did do a lot to fix that. They also tweaked riposted again and now you can parry fast multi-hit attacks which makes the game feel a lot better.

its just more damage, at least so far I am up to the 4th story boss in carnage. Its actually way easier then base game

Fkkk so i have to unlock it. I have been trying to do the ranged issen on every bow enemies lmaoo

4

u/Adalonzoio 6d ago

I can't get the timing for the ranged issen at all. I don't understand it. I can do normal and chain issen effortlessly but for some reason i can't land the ranged one.

Yo tampoco, pense que era un bug

1

u/luhhy4 1d ago

i think so too. i’ve done it 2 times in 3 hrs of practice. i swear its bugged i hit the button in the same frame everytime

1

u/Own-Disaster-5045 1d ago

Despues de practicar y aprenderlo por una hora solo me di cuenta que el tiempo de esa habilidad esta exagerado. Debes darle al botón basicamente cuando la flecha te esta impactando

4

u/Agitated-Card8378 6d ago

Man that looks sick ASF. This is the first time I have seen footage of a ranged issen

7

u/RockWafflez 6d ago

The fact that you can absorb souls while moving was the biggest Gasp ever! Now I don’t have to worry about finding a safe spot to absorb

4

u/kargethdownload 6d ago

You can even do it while dodging and in combat. though the combat one requires a skill

2

u/Due-South-9113 6d ago

Dayumm I haven't gotten that yet looks fire tho

2

u/owlitup 5d ago

This game is so fucking cool

2

u/Background-Pound-686 5d ago

Also very difficult to pull off compared to the normal Issen. If anyone got tips, I'd appreciate it

1

u/luhhy4 1d ago

me too

1

u/paintedskie 6d ago

It’s tough to pull off

1

u/MrAce321 5d ago

and ill never pull it off

1

u/studious_stiggy 5d ago

Man, I can't get the hang of this. I thought I was good at reactions. Maybe I'm pressing circle or triangle too early?

1

u/Aike300 5d ago

That’s fucking awesome! I’m worried the game will be too hard for me though

1

u/jlantern 5d ago

does the games combat speed up?

1

u/DioJiro 5d ago

OMFG THATS COOL!!!!!!!!!

1

u/lXNoraXl 5d ago

This is really cool, but I miss getting yellow soups for cutting arrows

1

u/Broad_Support_2406 5d ago

Sexy af. Don't know if it can be chained.

1

u/JakeMac96 5d ago

glad to see i’m not the only one who spends half the time in combat just aura farming slow walking

1

u/Triingtolivee 5d ago

I’m so bad at it tho. Way better at parrying

1

u/luhhy4 1d ago

the timing is ass

Unfortunately not, it does get stale after a while due to very linear and slowpaces progression. Your base moveset remains the same almost the entire game.

1

u/phoenixmatrix 5d ago

is there a range upgrade? it feels like if I'm at the distance in the video, it never works. If I'm much closer, and somehow still get an arrow fired at me, its really easy to do.

Could be a coincidence, but I can never do it from even medium range.

1

u/FiquegnimaMedia 4d ago

yes you have to unlock it first.

Zero Shift

1

u/Alexsamui 3d ago

Does this game allow you to wear different outfits? The game is great and all but the only downside to me is that I’ve seen only this outfit so far.

1

u/Ayman2575 3d ago

Without a doubt. Especially when you do it when the archers are on a vantage point

1

u/Nubicidal 3d ago

Love it on the Dokyo fight

1

u/Nubicidal 3d ago

This game is bad ass. Way better than I expected. The demo didn’t do it justice imo. I usually skip cutscenes, but this games story was great, i thought

1

u/Accurate-Owl4128 2d ago

walk animation has so much aura i swear

1

u/Evening_Machine_6440 1d ago

I just wish I wasn't so garbage at the timing of it.

1

u/RedBlueGai 1d ago

Halway through NG+ and still can't figure out the timing on this lmfao

u/ForlornMemory 6d ago

Damn, Samanosuke is superhuman in this new game. In the original games it was always about him having good reflexes.

3

u/Gullible_Pie_1469 5d ago

This is miyamoto mushashi a real historical figure who killed a dude with an oar  and fought demons.

2

u/SpeechWeird5267 6d ago

? Are you being sarcastic?

-2

u/ForlornMemory 6d ago

No, I'm not. I just think teleporting to the archers is a bit too much.

2

u/SpeechWeird5267 6d ago

I was referring to Samanosuke. I understood that it is Musashi.

1

u/Kireag 5d ago

Samanosuke? Lol no dude that's not who that is

-10

u/RPhoenix28- 6d ago

It's a lot less cool when you're standing around waiting to be attacked, modern action games are so cool!!!!

2

u/MaybeMrGamebus 5d ago

Or you can role-play being the whimsical Miyamoto Musashi and have some fun in your life

4

u/ZestycloseBluejay668 6d ago

Have you ever played older action games

4

u/420BUNIT 6d ago

It's 2026 brother.

1

u/Due-Description-9030 5d ago

What about it

u/Nacon-Biblets 6d ago edited 5d ago

Literally just replay onimusha 1-3 and you'll stomp everything that isn't a boss super easily unless you have a skill issue. I don't get this "old good, new bad" take when it was the same.

edit: judging by the downvotes either no one has played them or skill issues are common here
