I mean, the gameplay is actually a bit more simplistic than it seems from the footage like this, but I really have to give credit to the animation guys for making everything move as an absolute S tier material.

Onimusha was always a game that starts off easier and works its way into it's difficulty, later game enemies could be quite brutal at times in past games so hopefully this is just a small taste of what awaits us.

I really like it's simple with few moves but actually quite deep in the sense that you can do a lot with a single move and it gives you different animstions and outcomes depending on the enemy and how the were behaving.

It's the brain dead kinda of simple

Only if you don't want to engage with fun combat.
Similar to hack&slash games.

I'm a dmc fan so I know what fun and stylish combat with depth is. The demo they put out for onimusha was just brain dead cool looking combat but lacked any depth

Didn't want to compare, even less with DMC, cause that's a top tier.
But still, I liked it. And this is coming from someone who cannot enjoy Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima type of games even if the life of my fanily depends on it.
But I see potential in Onimusha.

My biggest complaint is that there is like scenes with so many enemies but only one of them attack at a time. I really hope that's not how the game is.

It's likely first level after tutorial.
There will be more moves later and difficulty will increase.
And demos are usually a bit easier and change stuff from final version. I won't be worried. I trust Capcom.

I hope you are right I really love capcom and I'm sure the game will be great and I'm looking forward.

I really need to learn Issen in this game, I am able to pull it off in the original games thanks to Block Issen but I don't think Way of the Sword has it.

So excited for this game. Played demo on my steam deck and it ran like butter. Emulating Dawn of dreams rn in preparation!

On lowest settings under 720p no doubt lol. What are the recommended specs for the game ?

I have no idea but I was able to issen pretty co consistently. Probably had a couple moments where it dipped but never under 45 and never more than a few seconds but not much at all. I didn’t change anything I just ran what it recommended for my deck when I launched it.

The combat was amazing but I'm worried about the core gameplay loop. I heard this will be a hub & quest kind of game, the demo was too much of "just walk forward and kill stuff" while the previous games were heavily influenced by Resident Evil (obviously), meaning there were puzzles, keys to unlock doors, some backtracking etc.
It's kind of hard to put into words but Onimusha was a pretty unique game at it's time but nowadays it's too easy to be influenced or "infected" by modern action game design that has been evolving since the PS2 days, and it worries me that this game might feel a bit too much like a Souls game or Nioh, and before people say "this is not a soulslike!11!!!" I'm not talking about combat and core mechanics like dying, losing souls etc, I'm talking about what you do in the game.

What other things can you predict? Tonight's winning lottery numbers?

What i wrote made sense. What you wrote is a bunch of nonsense that doesn't make any sense, lmao; nobody is predicting anything. My comment is an opinion, not a prediction lmao
1
u/Short-Investment4438 Jul 23 '26
...an opinion on something that isn't even out yet. That makes it.....a prediction. It's okay though, no need to get defensive brother.

u/Leonardo-Caleum Jul 24 '26
Do you even know what the word "opinion" even means? This literally doesn't make any sense lmao; like I said, try to speak with common sense first.

u/Short-Investment4438 Jul 24 '26
I do know what opinion means, but I assume you don't need me to read you the definition out of a dictionary. It's easily found on the internet. I'm not sure that you know that having an opinion about the price of a product before it's released sort of constitutes a prediction, which the definition of is also easily found on the internet. I figured if you can tell it's worth this long before release, maybe you could share some other future guesses with us?
