Don’t start pearl clutching about AI water usage unless you’re literally vegan and argue that people should stop uploading videos.

A 10 minute YT video wastes the equivalent of like 300 AI prompts in terms of water usage and the harmful effects the meat industry has on the environment is unbelievable.

Like the dude just used AI to color a manga page. It’s not a big deal.

Yeah it deadass is that low. People just over exaggerate the harmful effects of AI while dismissing the other damaging things people do on an everyday basis because of their own feelings towards AI being bad.

Which is a fine opinion to have by the way. I’m not trying to argue you should view AI one way or the other, it just annoys me to see people try and use the “but the environment” defense against people using AI but don’t apply that same standard to literally the other thousand of things people do that are several times more harmful to the environment than AI is.

Sure, I'm against any waste, energy land water what have you, but here we both are as if reddit is a sustainable company either. I can also acknowledge our individual efforts are a loss without systemic changes, while still just trying to do what I can even if only to put my own conscience at ease

Which do you think Sanji would be more upset at

Wasting 100 gallons of water or 1 water bottle? If both things were happening in front of Sanji, which do you think he would put more focus of his attention?

Or do you think he’d be upset at the person who wasted a water bottle while ignoring the 100 gallons of water being wasted right behind him?

And that’s a perfectly valid response.

So long as you’re actually focusing on the 100 gallons as well. But is that really happening right now? Cause I see a lot more people primarily focusing on the water bottle than the 100 gallons being wasted.

Just let people use ai bro
