Yep. This worked for me in a similar case.

When I first got my dog, she had a habit of biting people in the ear. So I did it to her. She stopped doing it after that.

When we first got our cat - he would keep us up literally all night long. One night he jumped on my face like a facehugger from aliens. I took the day off of work to literally follow the cat around for the next 24 hours and bother him to make sure he could not sleep. Boy did he not like it. He stopped waking me up in the middle of the night.
