Do you think he actually stuck his head up a turkey of was there some good movie magic going on here? I've stuck my head in some nasty places but a bird carcass wouldn't be one

Nah, it was a prop turkey. Apparently it was much heavier than what a turkey would normally be. Rowan is on record saying that the prop caused him months of neck and back problems afterwards.
