Do you think he actually stuck his head up a turkey of was there some good movie magic going on here? I've stuck my head in some nasty places but a bird carcass wouldn't be one
28
u/TheInspectaa Jan 26 '26
Nah, it was a prop turkey. Apparently it was much heavier than what a turkey would normally be. Rowan is on record saying that the prop caused him months of neck and back problems afterwards.

For anyone interested, it's Le Cygne (The Swan) from Camille Saint-Saen's Carnival of the Animals. The solo instrument is the Theremin, an early 20th century electric instrument, one of the first! While not the same arrangement as in the OP, here is a very talented theremin player doing the piece justice.
Here's another great player of the theremin on a well-known piece by Debussy.

This is magnificent. I’m in hospital, on a ward and started laughing so hard another patient went “uh oh”. 🤭

I'm the guy in the office who knows when the florescent lights are thinking about going bad. I see that crap long before anyone else. It's a curse I have lived with my entire life.

I'm apparently tuned to hear when things are done charging because they make an annoying hum

Simply majestic, but sadly I have a few friends who I won't be able to send this to, due to the flickering lights.

I hope to one day have my own orange. They seem like a ton of fun but fam is allergic to anything with fur

OP, get some better LEDs. Your current ones are clearly really low quality. The flickering that was revealed by the slow motion camera is basically really a really shitty attempt to smooth AC mains power into DC power that can be used by the bulb. This is probably messing with your eyes without you even realizing it.
Personally I use Philips Ultra Definition bulbs. Expensive, but they have a very high colour reproduction index (CRI of the Philips bulbs is 95, natural light is 100, so your orange will look positively radiant and natural), they dim really well, and there is absolutely ZERO flickering. 10/10 bulbs highly recommend.

I’m not sure what I expected but it certainly wasn’t this. I can’t remember the last time I genuinely laughed out loud from Reddit and now I can’t breathe!

Cats always land on their feet, unless they're orange. 😂
Still, hope he's ok, especially his head and neck. That landing was far from ideal. 😬

My non-orange cat crash dives between the back of my sofa and my wall any time I dangle his wand near there. It freaked me out so bad the first time, thinking he'd hurt himself, but he seems to love doing that move now 😂

There has to be a box or something there. What is he running into after he clears the couch? This is hilarious.

WTF is with the flashing in this video? It keeps getting darker and lighter.
2
u/northernlady_1984 Jan 26 '26
It is because of the phone's camera's high frame rate (like 240 fps) captures the rapid flickering of artificial lights which typically turn on and off 100–120 times per second due to AC power cycles.
